Abstract

The Province of South Kalimantan is one of the five provinces in Indonesia with the highest teenage marriage rate from 2017 to 2020.  Based on 13 South Kalimantan regencies/cities, it is known that Balangan Regency has the greatest percentage of women's age at first marriage under 19 years compared to other regencies/cities, which is 55.58%. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that influence women's age at first marriage in Balangan Regency in 2020. In this investigation, ordinal logistic regression with the cumulative logit model was used.  The findings revealed that the highest education ever/currently obtained by a woman (X1), parents' age at first marriage (X2), the highest diploma of the head of the household (X3), employment status of the head of the family (X4), location of place of residence (X5), poverty status (X6), and migration (X7) had no significant effect.  Furthermore, using the Spearman rank correlation coefficient, it was discovered that the highest education ever/currently obtained by a woman  (X1) has a substantial correlation/closeness of link with women's age at first marriage by 28%.  Women with a higher degree of education are less likely to marry at a young age, whereas women with a lower level of education are more likely.

Abstract

The Human Development Index is a number that measures the achievement of human development based on a number of basic components of quality of life that can affect the level of productivity produced by a person. The calculation of the human development index can be based on three dimensions, namely the health dimension, the education dimension, the standard of living dimension In this study the method used is nonparametric spline regression. This nonparametric spline regression method is used to obtain the estimated regression curve through the data fitting approach. This method is also very suitable for use with data that changes frequently and does not determine a certain pattern. Spline is a model that has statistical and visual interpretation and has a very good ability to be generalized to complex and complex statistical models. The purpose of this study is to explain how the influence and how the best model of the number of health facilities, number of school facilities, economic growth, labor force participation rate and open unemployment rate on the human development index on the island of Kalimantan using nonparametric spline regression. The results of this study are the best model is at one knot point and the number of health facilities, the number of school facilities, economic growth, labor force participation rates and the open unemployment rate affect the dependent variable by 42.98 percent or can be said to be low, while the rest is explained by the variable others that are not included in the model.

Abstract

AbstractCriminality is any form of action that harms economically and psychologically and violates the law, social norms and religion. South Kalimantan is in 21st position with an average of 3,282 criminal cases per year in the period 2018 to 2020. One method to interpolate data in unsampled locations is the co-kriging and inverse distance weighting (IDW) method. This study aims to estimate the number of crimes in South Kalimantan with the co-kriging and IDW methods, compare the results to determine the best method, and present a thematic map of the distribution of crime in South Kalimantan. In the co-kriging method, the number of crimes is the primary variable and population density is the secondary variable. The result of this research is that between the two methods, IDW is better for interpolation in estimating the crime value than the co-kriging method. The IDW method provides good interpolation results whose interpolation value is close to the value of the real data. Although co-kriging has the potential to provide accurate results if the cross-variogram model can be formed properly, the constraints faced in this study indicate that IDW remains a more stable and reliable choice in estimating crime in South Kalimantan.  Keywords:  Crime, Co-kriging, Inverse Distance Weighting

Abstract

South Kalimantan Province is one of the provinces in Indonesia which has the lowest poverty rate or percentage of poor people on the island of Kalimantan, even in Indonesia. The percentage of poor people in South Kalimantan Province in March 2022 was 4.49% or in the 2nd lowest poverty position in Indonesia, below the Bangka Belitung Islands Province and above the Bali Province. Geographically Weighted Panel Regression (GWPR) is a local regression model with repeated data at location points for each observation at different times. This study aims to estimate the GWPR model parameters and test the significance of the GWPR model parameters to determine the factors that influence poverty in South Kalimantan Province. The independent variables used affect the dependent variable in the form of the Percentage of Poor Population, namely Life Expectancy, Open Unemployment Rate, Economic Growth, Average Years of Schooling and Number of Crimes. The analysis in this study is descriptive analysis using thematic maps, panel data regression analysis to determine the global model and GWPR by combining the panel data model with the GWR model. The results of this study show that the fixed effect model is a global model and the fixed bisquare weighting function is the best weighting function for estimating the GWPR model. Based on the GWPR model formed, there are 7 model groups based on significant independent variables. Hulu Sungai Utara and Hulu Sungai Tengah districts are districts where poverty in these areas is influenced by many variables compared to other regions in South Kalimantan Province.

Abstract

The environmental quality index is an indicator of environmental quality in Indonesia. EQI shows an increasing trend from 2018 to 2022, although Indonesia's environmental quality is ranked 116 out of 180 countries in the world. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to describe the characteristics of the EQI and the factors that can affect EQI, estimate the parameters of the ridge regression model and test the significance of the ridge regression model parameters to overcome the multicollinearity problem in the EQI case. This study uses 4 independent variables, namely population density, traffic, waste, and sanitation in Indonesia in 2021 as secondary data. In this study, ridge regression analysis is used because there is an almost linear relationship between the factors that are thought to affect the EQI. Ridge Regression is a technique that imposes limits (penalties) on parameter estimates in the regression model so that a reduction in the estimated coefficient value can overcome the multicollinearity problem. The results show that the optimal lambda value is 4.737078 when using the 5-fold cross-validation method. Variables that partially affect EQI are population density, waste, and environmental sanitation. The independent variables in this study that can explain the variability of EQI in Indonesia in 2021 is 59.52%, while 40.48% is explained by other variables that are not included in the model. Indonesia's EQI score in 2021 is 71.45 with the predicate "Good". Keywords:   Environmental Quality Index, Ridge Regression, Cross Validation.

Abstract

AbstractAccurate village profile planning needs to be done with mapping based on its characteristics. Village grouping based on the characteristics of village facilities and potential or its characteristics based on the Building Village Index indicator can help determine priorities in village development. In this study, mixed data was used, with numerical data grouping using Hierarchical Agglomerative Nesting (AGNES) algorithm and categorical data with Quick Robust Clustering Using Links (QROCK). The resulting clusters are then combined using the QROCK Ensemble algorithm (algCEBMDC). The data is sourced from the 2021 Village Potential Data Collection (PODES) by the Central Statistics Agency in 277 villages in Banjar Regency, including 18 numerical variables and 29 categorical variables. The results of the study obtained  optimal clusters based on the ratio of within-group standard deviation (SW) to between-group standard deviation (SB)  resulting in a ratio of  4.82.10-9 with a threshold of 0.4 to 0.9 resulting in 6  clusters. The  best cluster results are cluster 4 (4 villages) and cluster  3 (14  villages), then cluster 2 (villages) and cluster 1 (186  villages), and clusters that need development priorities are cluser 5 (2 villages) and cluster 6 (1 village) which are outliers based on processing results. Keywords:   Village Grouping,  Cluster, AGNES Algorithm, Quick Robust Clustering Using Links (QROCK), AlgCEBMDC
