Abstract

This community service activity is motivated by the importance of instilling savings habits from an early age, but is often hampered by teaching methods that are less engaging for children. At Miftahul Jannah Kindergarten (TKQ), students' understanding of the concept of saving is still limited and has not yet become an independent habit. Therefore, this program focuses on fostering interest and awareness of saving through an edutainment approach that combines interactive socialization with creative piggy bank painting activities. The implementation method involves three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The implementation stage consists of an interactive lecture using visual media to explain the concept of saving, followed by hands-on practice of painting piggy banks as a visual-spatial medium. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' understanding of the importance of saving, as evidenced by the emergence of relevant questions. Furthermore, students demonstrated high enthusiasm for the painting activity, which effectively stimulated their creativity and self-expression. It was concluded that the playful learning approach through socialization and piggy bank painting activities proved highly effective. This activity successfully instilled early financial awareness in a fun way and provided a meaningful learning experience for young children. ABSTRAKKegiatan pengabdian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya menanamkan kebiasaan menabung sejak dini, namun seringkali terkendala oleh metode pengajaran yang kurang menarik bagi anak-anak. Di TKQ Miftahul Jannah, pemahaman siswa tentang konsep menabung masih terbatas dan belum menjadi kebiasaan mandiri. Oleh karena itu, program ini berfokus untuk menumbuhkan minat dan kesadaran menabung melalui pendekatan edutainment yang menggabungkan sosialisasi interaktif dengan kegiatan kreatif melukis celengan. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi tiga tahap: persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Tahap pelaksanaan terdiri dari ceramah interaktif menggunakan media visual untuk menjelaskan konsep menabung, yang dilanjutkan dengan praktik langsung melukis celengan sebagai media visual-spasial. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman siswa terhadap pentingnya menabung, yang ditandai dengan munculnya pertanyaan-pertanyaan relevan. Selain itu, siswa menunjukkan antusiasme yang sangat tinggi dalam kegiatan melukis, yang secara efektif merangsang kreativitas dan ekspresi diri mereka. Disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan belajar sambil bermain melalui sosialisasi dan aktivitas melukis celengan terbukti sangat efektif. Kegiatan ini berhasil menanamkan kesadaran finansial awal secara menyenangkan dan memberikan pengalaman belajar yang bermakna bagi anak usia dini.

Abstract

Activeness and critical thinking skills in students in a class are one of the necessary things in understanding lessons in class. The learning process that only conveys material makes students unable to think critically, therefore there is a learning innovation that focuses on students, one of the learning innovations is the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach. This study aims to apply learning methods using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach in the Statistics 2 class at the Wibawa Karta Raharja College of Economics (STIE), Purwakarta. This method also aims to develop the activeness and critical thinking of students who are still lacking and some have forgotten this statistical material in the previous semester. One of the advantages of this learning method is that it can train students in different concepts and skills in solving the problems at hand. This research uses a qualitative type with five stages of implementation, one of the stages is giving students a data analysis task in groups that are presented one by one in front of the class. The results obtained from this study are that students are enthusiastic in presenting the results of their analysis in front of the class, this shows an increase in the value and activeness of students with this learning method. ABSTRAKKeaktifan dan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada mahasiswa didalam suatu kelas merupakan aspek terpenting memahami materi didalam kelas. Proses pembelajaran yang hanya menyampaikan materi saja membuat mahasiswa tidak dapat berpikir kritis, dikarenakan hal tersebut harus adanya inovasi pembelajaran yang berfokus pada mahasiswa salah satu inovasi pembelajaran yaitu pendekatan Problem Based Learning (PBL). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan metode pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada mata kuliah statistik 2 di Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi (STIE) Wibawa Karta Raharja, Purwakarta. Metode ini juga bertujuan untuk mengembangkan keaktifan dan daya berpikir kritis mahasiswa yang dirasa masih kurang dan ada juga yang sudah lupa dengan materi statistik ini pada semester sebelumnya. Kelebihan dari metode pembelajaran ini yaitu mampu melatih mahasiswa dalam konsep dan keterampilan yang berbeda dalam memecahkan permasalahan yang sedang dihadapi. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis kualitatif dengan lima tahapan pelaksanaan, salah satu tahapan yaitu  memberikan mahasiswa tugas analisa data secara berkelompok yang dipresentasikan satu per satu didepan kelas. Hasil yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa antusias dalam memaparkan hasil analisa mereka didepan kelas, hal ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan nilai dan keaktifan mahasiswa dengan metode pembelajaran ini kemudian mahasiswa mendapatkan hard skill yaitu dapat mengoperasikan software untuk mengolah data dan juga dapat menganalisa data secara statistik.

Abstract

Aerva sanguinolenta leaves contain anthocyanis that can be utilized as a borax detector in food products. This study aimed to determine the charateristics of Aerva sanguinolenta leaf extract and evaluate its effectiveness as a natural color indicator for borax detection. The research employed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments of borax concentrations (0%, 1%, 2%, and 3%) with three replications. The paramaters observed included the yield and pH of the extract, as well as the reaction of the extract and the natural color indicator when exposed to varying borax concentration treatments. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and followed by DMRT at a 5% significance level. The result showed that the leaf extract yield was 79% with a pH of 4,93. The extract reacted positively to borax, producing varying color intensities across treatments. The natural color indicator reacted with borax and exhibitied significant differences (P<0,05) in red and yellow color parameters. The higher the borax concentration resulted in darker indicator color, indicating that natural color indicator from Aerva sanguinolenta leaves are effective for borax detection.
