Abstract

Children’s reading interest is a fundamental component of early literacy development and long-term academic success. Previous studies consistently indicate that parental involvement plays a decisive role in shaping children’s reading motivation and literacy achievement. This article aims to examine how strengthening parental involvement through a structured Home Literacy Program can improve children’s reading interest. Employing a mixed-methods approach, this study involved 120 elementary school students and their parents from three urban schools. Quantitative data were collected through reading interest questionnaires and parental involvement scales, while qualitative data were obtained through interviews and observation logs. The findings reveal that children whose parents actively participated in home-based literacy activities demonstrated significantly higher reading interest, motivation, and engagement compared to those in the control group. Moreover, parents reported improved confidence and awareness in supporting their children’s literacy development. These findings align with previous research emphasizing the importance of home–school partnerships and family literacy interventions. The study concludes that a well-designed Home Literacy Program can serve as an effective strategy for strengthening parental involvement and fostering sustainable reading interest among children.

Abstract

Digital literacy has become a critical requirement for social inclusion, economic participation, and access to public services. Local communities, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas, continue to experience significant digital skill gaps. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of technology-based training programs in enhancing digital literacy in local communities. The research employed a systematic literature-based empirical analysis of community service and intervention studies published between 2014 and 2025. Data were drawn from national and international peer-reviewed journals focusing on digital literacy training, community empowerment, and technology adoption. The findings indicate that structured training programs significantly improve digital competencies, including basic computer skills, internet usage, digital security awareness, and e-commerce engagement. Programs that integrate participatory learning, cultural relevance, and hands-on practice demonstrate higher effectiveness and sustainability. The study also identifies key success factors, such as local facilitator involvement, contextualized content, and continuous mentoring. These findings contribute to the development of an evidence-based framework for designing effective digital literacy interventions at the community level. The study concludes that technology-based training is a practical and scalable approach to reducing the digital divide and strengthening community resilience in the digital era.

Abstract

Limited educational access remains a persistent challenge in rural areas due to geographical isolation, resource scarcity, and weak institutional support. Community-based learning models have emerged as a strategic response to these constraints by actively involving local actors, resources, and social capital in educational provision. This study aims to examine how community-based learning models improve educational access in rural contexts and to identify key mechanisms that support their effectiveness. The research adopts a systematic literature-based qualitative approach, drawing on peer-reviewed journal articles, dissertations, and international case studies published between 1978 and 2025. Data were analyzed through thematic synthesis to identify recurring patterns related to participation, governance, technology use, and learning outcomes. The findings indicate that community-based learning models enhance access by reducing structural barriers, increasing learner engagement, and aligning educational programs with local needs. Successful implementation depends on strong community participation, flexible learning structures, policy support, and appropriate use of digital technology. This study contributes to the literature by providing an integrated analytical framework that links community participation with educational access in rural areas. The results offer practical implications for policymakers, educators, and development agencies seeking sustainable solutions to rural education disparities.

Abstract

Community participation plays a decisive role in environmental conservation and sustainable development. Many conservation programs fail due to weak local engagement and limited community ownership. This study examines how community participation contributes to environmental conservation outcomes and supports sustainable development across diverse socio ecological contexts. The research adopts a qualitative systematic literature review using peer reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and international conference papers published between 2008 and 2025. Data were analyzed using thematic content analysis to identify participation models, enabling factors, and conservation impacts. The findings show that active community participation improves environmental awareness, strengthens local stewardship, enhances policy effectiveness, and increases the sustainability of conservation initiatives. Participation is most effective when supported by institutional collaboration, legal frameworks, and local knowledge integration. The study confirms that community based approaches reduce environmental degradation and support long term development goals. This research contributes to the literature by synthesizing empirical evidence across regions and proposing a structured participation framework for conservation planning. The results provide practical guidance for policymakers, practitioners, and researchers seeking to strengthen sustainable environmental governance through inclusive participation.

Abstract

Public health awareness remains a central challenge in disease prevention and health promotion efforts, particularly in diverse and underserved communities. Community engagement programs have increasingly been recognized as effective strategies to bridge gaps between health systems and populations. This study aims to analyze how community engagement programs promote public health awareness by synthesizing empirical evidence from international and Indonesian contexts. The study employed a narrative literature review design, drawing on peer-reviewed journal articles, policy-oriented publications, and community-based program reports published between 2021 and 2025. Data were analyzed thematically to identify dominant engagement strategies, mechanisms of impact, and contextual factors influencing effectiveness. The results indicate that community engagement programs enhance public health awareness through participatory education, empowerment-based interventions, culturally responsive communication, and sustained partnerships. Programs that actively involve community members in decision-making processes demonstrate higher levels of knowledge retention, behavior change, and program sustainability. The findings also reveal that trust-building and local leadership play critical roles in translating awareness into preventive action. This study concludes that community engagement is not merely a supportive strategy but a core mechanism for effective public health promotion. Integrating inclusive, participatory, and context-sensitive approaches is essential to achieving equitable and sustainable health outcomes.
