Abstract

In modern education, there is a growing need for innovative instructional methods that increase student engagement and facilitate the understanding of complex subjects such as programming. This study aims to design and evaluate a gamified educational game developed using Python’s Turtle Graphics, intended to enhance learning and motivation among novice programming students. Employing a mixed methods approach, the research combines empirical data collection from a purposive sample of first-year computer science students with descriptive statistical analysis of quantitative questionnaire results and thematic qualitative insights. The findings indicate that the gamified game effectively improves learners' comprehension of basic programming concepts while fostering sustained engagement and motivation. This study contributes novel empirical evidence demonstrating the viability of simple, accessible gamification tools in introductory programming education, offering practical implications for educators seeking to integrate technology-enhanced learning in foundational computer science curricula. The results underscore the role of gamification in supporting cognitive and motivational aspects of learning, advancing both theoretical understanding and classroom practice in educational technology.

Abstract

Aljabar linear merupakan fondasi matematis yang krusial dalam berbagai aspek ilmu komputer modern. Konsep-konsep fundamental seperti vektor, matriks, dan transformasi linear tidak hanya menjadi bagian dari teori abstrak, tetapi telah berevolusi menjadi komponen inti dalam pengembangan teknologi komputasi yang canggih dan adaptif. Dalam pengolahan data, aljabar linear memungkinkan representasi informasi dalam bentuk yang terstruktur dan mudah dimanipulasi, mendukung proses klasifikasi, clustering, dan reduksi dimensi. Di bidang grafika komputer, transformasi linear digunakan untuk memanipulasi objek tiga dimensi secara presisi, memungkinkan visualisasi yang realistis dan interaktif. Dalam pembelajaran mesin, struktur jaringan saraf tiruan dibangun berdasarkan operasi matriks yang kompleks, di mana bobot dan bias direpresentasikan sebagai vektor dan matriks yang terus diperbarui melalui proses optimisasi. Teknik seperti Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Singular Value Decomposition (SVD). Selain itu, dalam pemodelan sistem dan algoritma kontrol, aljabar linear menyediakan kerangka kerja analitis untuk menyusun dan menyelesaikan sistem persamaan yang menggambarkan dinamika dan kondisi optimal suatu sistem. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menguraikan peran aljabar linear dalam perancangan algoritma dan aplikasi teknologi komputasi, dengan fokus pada empat aspek utama: representasi data, optimisasi, visualisasi, dan pembelajaran mesin. Melalui pendekatan ini, diharapkan pembaca dapat memahami bagaimana pemahaman yang mendalam terhadap aljabar linear dapat menjadi kunci dalam membangun solusi komputasi yang efisien, skalabel, dan responsif terhadap tantangan teknologi masa kini. Dengan demikian, aljabar linear tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai alat bantu matematis, tetapi juga sebagai bahasa universal dalam dunia komputasi modern.

Abstract

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data has become a major catalyst for innovation in various sectors. This literature review aims to identify the latest development trends in the integration of these two technologies, explore their implications for the industrial and social landscape, and analyze the accompanying ethical and technical challenges. The method used is a systematic narrative review, reviewing scientific articles published between 2020 and 2025. This comprehensive literature review analyzes the latest trends and challenges in the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data. This research confirms that the convergence of these two technologies is a transformative force driving innovation. Key findings demonstrate a technical trend toward efficiency- and privacy-focused architectures, with Edge Computing and Federated Learning becoming crucial for real-time Big Data processing and data regulatory compliance. However, this progress is offset by serious ethical and security challenges. Key issues identified include algorithmic bias exacerbated by Big Data, black-box problems in AI models, and vulnerability to Adversarial Attacks. The review concludes that realizing the full potential of AI and Big Data depends on strong governance and clear ethics. Therefore, future research is recommended to focus on developing practical Explainable AI (XAI) methodologies and cyberdefense mechanisms to ensure responsible and secure technology implementation. Abstract

This study explores the incorporation of character values within English for Specific Purposes (ESP) materials aimed at Computer Science students, highlighting their essential role in equipping learners to address ethical issues in the technology industry. Identified character values include ethical responsibility, communication skills, critical thinking, teamwork, and professionalism. The research finds that these values are effectively integrated into the curriculum through focused course design, hands-on learning activities, and assessment methods. Nevertheless, some gaps exist, particularly in deepening discussions around ethics and providing adequate real-world examples. Feedback from educators and students shows a shared acknowledgment of the significance of character education, though students often seek more practical applications. Suggestions for enhancement include promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, creating robust assessment methods, and offering professional development for instructors. The study concludes with recommendations for future research, emphasizing the exploration of ethical complexity, the effectiveness of practical applications, and the long-term effects of character education on graduates' career success. It advocates for a comprehensive approach to character education that produces responsible and skilled professionals in the digital era.
