Abstract

The capacity of village officials plays an important role in supporting effective governance, financial management, and public services. However, limited competencies remain a challenge in village administration in Merpak Village, Sintang Regency. This study aims to analyze the capacity of village officials based on individual, organizational, and institutional dimensions and identify supporting and inhibiting factors. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach conducted from November 1–7, 2025, in Merpak Village, Kelam Permai District, Sintang Regency. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, with informants selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The capacity of village officials was not yet optimal, as indicated by uneven understanding of regulations, limited proficiency in using the Village Financial System (Siskeudes), weak internal coordination, and delays in planning and reporting. Inhibiting factors included inadequate training, competency disparities, and limited information technology infrastructure. Supporting factors included the Village Head's commitment, support from the Village Consultative Body, community participation, and technical assistance. Strengthening village officials' capacity requires improving technical competencies, regulatory understanding, internal coordination, and continuous assistance to achieve effective, transparent, and accountable village governance. Keywords: Village Officials' Capacity; Village Governance; Human Resource Competencies; Village Financial System; Public Administration.

Abstract

Firm value reflects investors' assessments of corporate performance and business sustainability prospects, which may be associated with financial and non-financial information. Corporate social responsibility disclosure, corporate governance mechanisms, and profitability are potential determinants of firm value, although previous studies have reported inconsistent findings. To examine the effects of Corporate Social Responsibility Disclosure (CSRD), the proportion of independent commissioners, and profitability on the firm value of food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during 2021–2023. This study employed an explanatory quantitative approach using secondary data from corporate annual and sustainability reports. Purposive sampling yielded 10 companies and 30 firm-year observations. The data were examined using panel data regression, with the Common Effect Model (CEM) selected based on the Chow, Hausman, and Lagrange Multiplier tests. Firm value was measured using Tobin's Q, while profitability was measured using Return on Assets (ROA). The reported partial regression results indicated that CSRD (p = 0.2025), the proportion of independent commissioners (p = 0.1134), and ROA (p = 0.8367) were not statistically significant in relation to firm value. The reported model summary showed no joint statistical significance (F-test p = 0.5865), with an R-squared of 0.0704, indicating that the model explained 7.04% of the variation in firm value. CSR disclosure, the proportion of independent commissioners, and profitability did not demonstrate statistically significant relationships with firm value in the reported tests. These findings highlight the model's limited explanatory power and the importance of considering additional financial and non-financial factors when evaluating firm value. Keywords: CSR Disclosure; Independent Commissioners; Profitability; Firm Value; Panel Data Regression.

Abstract

Productive zakat is an Islamic economic instrument with the potential to strengthen mustahik economic independence and improve social welfare. However, evaluations of its effectiveness tend to focus on economic indicators, highlighting the need for a more comprehensive assessment of its benefits from the perspective of maqasid al-shariah. This study aimed to analyze productive zakat practices and their implications for social and economic well-being in Indonesia through the framework of maqasid al-shariah. A qualitative literature review was conducted using content analysis and thematic synthesis. A Scopus search yielded 100 publication records, of which 60 met the initial document-type and publication-year criteria for 2016–2026, while 12 were identified as priority candidates for further assessment. The analysis employed the five dimensions of maqasid al-shariah as an interpretative framework. The findings indicate that productive zakat has the potential to improve mustahik welfare through economic empowerment, business mentoring, and institutional support. The dimension of hifz al-mal is directly associated with economic indicators, whereas hifz al-nafs, hifz al-'aql, hifz al-nasl, and hifz al-din encompass physical well-being, education, family welfare, and spiritual development. These findings suggest that evaluations of productive zakat based on maqasid al-shariah should integrate economic, social, spiritual, and institutional indicators to assess its multidimensional contributions to public welfare. Keywords: Productive Zakat; Maqasid al-Shariah; Maslahah; Economic Empowerment; Mustahik Welfare.

Abstract

Service quality is an important factor associated with patient satisfaction in primary healthcare facilities. Changes in the Community Satisfaction Index at Jatiluhur Community Health Center during 2023–2025, together with preliminary survey findings, highlight the need to examine the relationship between these variables. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between service quality and patient satisfaction at Jatiluhur Community Health Center, Purwakarta Regency, Indonesia. A quantitative survey with a cross-sectional design was conducted among 96 patients selected through incidental sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed with Pearson correlation and simple linear regression. The results revealed a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.411, indicating a moderate positive relationship. The regression equation was Ŷ = 21.256 + 0.357X, with a t-statistic of 4.375 and a significance level of p < 0.001. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.169) indicated that service quality explained 16.9% of the variation in patient satisfaction scores, while the remaining 83.1% was associated with factors outside the model. These findings demonstrate a positive and statistically significant relationship between service quality and patient satisfaction. The study provides context-specific empirical evidence to inform primary healthcare service evaluation, although the model's explanatory power remains limited. Keywords: service quality; patient satisfaction; community health center; SERVQUAL.

Abstract

The financial performance of food and beverage companies fluctuated during 2020–2025, highlighting the need to examine factors associated with corporate profitability. This study aimed to analyze the relationships of leverage and the operational cost ratio with financial performance and to examine the mediating role of firm size among food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). A quantitative approach was employed using secondary data from annual financial statements covering 2020–2025. Purposive sampling yielded 21 companies from an initial population of 42, resulting in 126 firm-year observations. The data were analyzed using panel data regression in EViews 13, while the Sobel test was used to assess mediation effects. The results showed that leverage was negatively and significantly associated with firm size (p = 0.0006), whereas the operational cost ratio was not significantly associated with firm size (p = 0.2173). Leverage (p = 0.2050), the operational cost ratio (p = 0.0562), and firm size (p = 0.6148) did not have statistically significant effects on financial performance. The Sobel test also indicated that firm size did not significantly mediate the relationships of either independent variable with financial performance. These findings highlight the importance of jointly evaluating financing decisions, operational cost control, and asset productivity to support corporate profitability. Keywords: Leverage, Operational Cost Efficiency, Firm Size, Financial Performance.
