Abstract

This study examines the application of procedural and substantive justice in the mudharabah contract using a normative juridical approach based on classical Islamic legal texts, contemporary Islamic finance regulations, and empirical findings from previous studies. The results indicate that procedural justice in mudharabah remains insufficient, particularly in terms of information transparency, agreement mechanisms, and balanced bargaining positions between the capital provider (shahib al-māl) and the entrepreneur (mudhārib). Substantive justice is similarly challenged, especially regarding profit-sharing arrangements and risk distribution, both of which often fail to reflect the ideal structure of mudharabah as a genuine profit-and-loss sharing contract. Current institutional practices tend toward risk-averse financing models that deviate from the foundational principle of risk-sharing. This study emphasizes the need to reconstruct a justice-based mudharabah model through strengthened procedural standards, regulatory alignment, and the development of financing products that accurately reflect Islamic normative values. The findings contribute to improving the fairness, accountability, and maqāṣid-driven orientation of Islamic financial practices.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of studying the Minhāj al-Muta'allim book during Ramadan on the formation of an entrepreneurial spirit in the community of Banjaranyar Village, Paciran, Lamongan. In a competitive economic dynamic, entrepreneurship is not understood solely as an economic activity, but as a manifestation of work ethic and social responsibility based on Islamic spiritual values. The Ramadan recitation activities in Banjaranyar are a strategic moment for instilling Islamic values that shape ethical and productive entrepreneurial character. The research method applied a qualitative approach with a phenomenological-cultural case study design to comprehensively describe the spiritual experiences and economic behavioral transformations of the community. Data collection was conducted through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with recitation participants and business actors, and documentation of Ramadan recitation activities. The research findings show that Minhāj al-Muta'allim recitation plays a crucial role in instilling the values of sincerity, honesty, tawakal (trust in God), and brotherhood, which significantly strengthen the Islamic work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit of the community. The recitation activities also build social solidarity and a strong trust-based economic network, which contributes to the economic independence and competitiveness of the local community. These findings confirm that strengthening spiritual values through religious education can be an effective and sustainable model for Islamic-based socio-economic empowerment. This research has implications for the formulation of community economic policies based on morality, spirituality, and local wisdom in responding to the challenges of modernity.

Abstract

The digital transformation has fundamentally reshaped the operational landscape of Sharia cooperatives, particularly in marketing ethics, financial governance, and institutional interaction. This study examines the repositioning of Islamic marketing ethics and the strengthening of Sharia-compliant financial practices amid the rapid digitalization of Sharia cooperative services in Indonesia. Employing a qualitative approach through a systematic literature review, the study analyzes scholarly works published within the last five years concerning Islamic marketing ethics, fintech, cooperative governance, data security, and digital financial inclusion. The findings reveal that Islamic marketing ethics must be redefined to align with the dynamics of the digital environment, particularly regarding information transparency, data protection, and algorithmic integrity. Furthermore, strengthening Sharia-compliant finance requires integrating technologies that not only enhance service efficiency but also ensure Sharia compliance through digital auditing, data-driven risk management systems, and automated financial processes. Digital transformation presents substantial opportunities for Sharia cooperatives to expand outreach, increase accountability, and reinforce members’ business ecosystems. However, structural constraints such as low digital literacy, uneven infrastructure, and weak governance remain persistent challenges. This study concludes that balancing technological innovation with Sharia principles is essential for fostering a visionary, ethical, and sustainable transformation of Sharia cooperatives.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of Lampung's customary values with sharia contracts in UMKM economic practices in West Tulang Bawang, Metro, and Bandar Lampung. Economic ethnography method was employed involving 45 informants through in-depth interviews and participatory observation over six months. Research findings indicate that piil pesenggiri philosophy (nemui nyimah, nengah nyappur, sakai sambayan, juluk adok) converges with maqashid sharia in UMKM practices. The sakai sambayan system in West Tulang Bawang produces qardh al-hasan financing with 87% compliance rate. Murabahah contracts based on nemui nyimah in Metro increase customer loyalty up to 75%. Musyarakah partnerships with juluk adok principles in Bandar Lampung achieve 45% annual turnover growth. The study concludes that the supremacy of trust and customary-based social networks serves as an effective enforcement mechanism, yet faces modernization challenges requiring comprehensive empowerment strategies through sharia microfinance institutions, digital platforms based on local values, and certification systems for sharia economic sustainability.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the transmission of pesantren cultural values within Arabic language learning strategies in Indonesia. Using a literature review approach and content analysis, the research describes the identification of strategies and mechanisms for transmitting pesantren cultural values. Data are sourced from scholarly articles, books, and relevant previous studies. The findings reveal that Arabic language learning strategies in pesantren are integrated, combining classical and modern approaches, and heavily based on traditional texts such as kitab kuning, with embedded cultural values like simplicity, independence, ethics, and responsibility. Practical-pedagogical implications include strengthening students’ character and creating a spiritual and effective learning environment. The transmission of pesantren cultural values through these strategies fosters students’ linguistic competence, moral character, and high ethical standards. In conclusion, pesantren cultural values serve as a fundamental and inseparable foundation in Arabic language learning strategies, contributing to character development and the identity of Indonesian santri’s scholarly pursuits.
