Abstract

The type of research conducted in this thesis, which is field research aimed at seeing the role of MSMEs in boosting the community's economy post-COVID-19 pandemic in Kampung Logam Ngingas, Waru District, Sidoarjo Regency. The data collection technique used in this thesis involves interviews with the owners and employees of metal MSMEs located in Kampung Logam Ngingas. To gather data for the ongoing research, this thesis also uses observation methodology to monitor the situation in the field. The data used in this thesis were obtained from official sites, including those of Waru District, Sidoarjo Regency, and the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). The conclusion obtained from the research in this thesis is that there is no significant change in both production output and input. Although experiencing a decline in revenue, the owners of Ngingas metal MSMEs offer metal machine servicing services and sell some of their assets to stay afloat and avoid bankruptcy. These Ngingas metal MSMEs also have a positive impact on the residents of Ngingas village, as many jobs are absorbed, thereby increasing the income of the local community. Although Ngingas metal MSMEs were affected by COVID-19, this did not cause some workers to lose their jobs. This is evidenced by a 1.8% decrease in poverty in that year from the total population.

Abstract

This study uses SWOT Analysis. This analysis is based on reasoning that can simultaneously minimize weaknesses and threats while still maximizing strengths and opportunities. The researcher also uses the Human Development Index theory to measure the community's welfare after the development of Lontar Sewu Tourism Village, in order to support the findings of the SWOT analysis. Based on the research findings, Lontar Sewu Tourism Village is classified as class I for both internal and external factors (positive, positive). This indicates that the development of Lontar Sewu Tourism Village is strong and has potential, and the strategic recommendations provided are aggressive. Furthermore, the welfare level of the residents of Hendrosari Village also shows changes and is gradually increasing in accordance with what is stated in the Human Development Index theory, namely the Long and Decent Life Indicator, the Knowledge Indicator, and the Decent Standard of Living Indicator. As for the suggestions that can be given as guidelines to the village government and tourism managers, they are to provide regular educational training for business owners, enhance marketing both directly and indirectly, and be able to predict opportunities for high-value products that can be developed and innovated to be able to face competition among tourist destinations.

Abstract

The era of globalization and the digital economy demands that Indonesian MSMEs adopt digital branding strategies to strengthen their competitiveness in the global market, where a strong online presence influences 70% of consumer purchasing decisions through platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Challenges such as low digital literacy, limited capital, and export regulations prevent only 15% of MSMEs from successfully penetrating the international market. This study aims to analyze effective digital branding strategies for MSMEs, encompassing brand identity, content, advertising, and global e-commerce, as well as the enabling and inhibiting factors for sustainable transformation. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach through semi-structured interviews with 10 MSMEs from the fashion, culinary, and craft sectors, supplemented by observations of social media, e-commerce, and secondary data from literature and government reports over three months. Thematic analysis identified strategic patterns, factors, and implications. The results show that integrated strategies such as unique USPs, multilingual SEO, UGC content, micro-influencers, and marketplaces like Etsy tripled revenue and expanded to 10 countries within 1-2 years, supported by access to technology and government training. Inhibiting factors include minimal digital literacy (60% of MSMEs) and export bureaucracy, with implications for increasing visibility by 70%, ROI by 40%, and achieving a target of 30 million digital MSMEs by 2029 through stakeholder synergy.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a critical role in Indonesia’s economy, particularly in the seafood processing sector. However, these enterprises face significant challenges, including limited access to financing, global market networks, and competitiveness against larger firms. This study explores the socio-economic collaboration between seafood processing MSMEs in Sidoarjo and local stakeholders, including fishers, cooperatives, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and village governments, in enhancing export performance. Using a qualitative descriptive approach through in-depth interviews and participatory observations, the findings indicate that sustainable and trust-based relationships between MSMEs and fishers are crucial for ensuring high-quality raw materials and competitive products in international markets. Collaboration with NGOs and cooperatives provides capacity-building, training, and improved access to financial resources. Village government support facilitates access to assistance programs, training, and product certification for export purposes. These results suggest that multi-stakeholder collaboration can overcome MSME challenges, expand export opportunities, and strengthen the global competitiveness of processed seafood products. The study offers practical insights for policy interventions aimed at supporting MSME development and international market expansion in the seafood sector.
