Abstract

Digitalization in the banking sector has become a critical driver of operational efficiency and improved service quality. This study aims to evaluate the role of digital transformation in enhancing operational efficiency at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), Yogyakarta Kaliurang Branch, with a specific focus on the implementation of the Byond application as a replacement for BSI Mobile. The adoption of Byond has significantly accelerated transaction processes, enhanced customer experience, and reduced administrative workloads for bank staff. Moreover, digitalization supports human resource optimization by enabling more automated and error-minimized workflows. The findings reveal that while digital initiatives have produced substantial positive impacts, challenges remain, particularly in customer adoption of new technologies. These challenges necessitate more intensive outreach and educational strategies. Therefore, although digitalization has markedly contributed to operational efficiency at BSI, sustainable development strategies are still required to ensure that its benefits are fully realized by all stakeholders.

Abstract

The acceleration of the trend toward de-dollarization reflects structural transformation in the global financial architecture. This study aims to analyze the main drivers of this phenomenon and the strategic role of gold, which has once again become the preferred global reserve asset. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with secondary data from the World Gold Council and the IMF (2010-2024 period), this study identifies three key factors: geopolitics (financial sanctions and rivalry between major powers), economics (US fiscal deficits and inflation), and structural factors (BRICS efforts to establish a non-dollar payment system). The results show that gold has been repositioned as a strategic “shield” against the risks of sanctions and monetary uncertainty, rather than merely an investment commodity. In conclusion, the aggressive accumulation of gold by central banks signals a shift towards a multipolar order, where economic stability and sovereignty take precedence over the efficiency of the dollar-based system.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the competitive advantage of Kirana Bouquet in Bandar Lampung based on the Resource-Based View (RBV) framework. RBV emphasizes that sustainable competitive advantage is formed through the utilization of internal resources that are valuable, rare, inimitable, and non-substitutable. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach to obtain an in-depth understanding of the characteristics of the business’s resources and capabilities. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the business owner and analyzed to identify the role of tangible resources, intangible resources, and operational capabilities in supporting competitiveness. The findings indicate that intangible resources are the most dominant factor in building the competitive advantage of Kirana Bouquet. Creativity in bouquet design and wrapping, high-quality service, business reputation built through customer reviews, and pricing decisions aligned with market conditions are key elements that differentiate the business from its competitors. In addition, the use of digital technologies such as social media, online marketplaces, and cashless payment systems further strengthens the marketing strategy and operational efficiency. However, the less strategic location of the shop remains an obstacle to increasing exposure to potential new customers. Overall, this study emphasizes that the optimal management of internal resources is essential for creating and sustaining the competitive advantage of Kirana Bouquet.

Abstract

This study analyzes the development strategy of UMKM Kulea Coffee in Bandar Lampung based on the perspective of dynamic capabilities. UMKM operate in a highly dynamic business environment characterized by changing consumer preferences, fluctuating demand, and increasing competition, which requires adaptive and flexible strategies. The objective of this research is to examine how UMKM Kulea Coffee applies dynamic capabilities in developing its business strategy. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with the business owner and internal parties, supported by observation and documentation. The analysis is based on three dimensions of dynamic capabilities, namely sensing, seizing, and reconfiguring. The results show that Kulea Coffee demonstrates sensing capability through its ability to identify changes in consumer preferences and seasonal demand fluctuations. Seizing capability is reflected in strategic decisions such as fulfilling custom requests, implementing a booking system, and adjusting menu variations during certain periods. Meanwhile, reconfiguring capability is seen in internal adjustments, particularly in improving service quality and work processes to enhance customer satisfaction. Overall, the findings indicate that the application of dynamic capabilities enables UMKM Kulea Coffee to adapt to environmental changes and supports business sustainability and competitiveness in the local market.

Abstract

This research aims to strengthen the framework of Ethical Artificial Intelligence based on behavioral economics through the integration of the principles of Amanah, 'Adl, and Ihsan in decision-making. The research background is grounded in the increasing use of artificial intelligence in decision-making, which is vulnerable to cognitive bias, while the existing literature remains dominated by technical and procedural approaches to addressing ethical issues. The research employed a conceptual literature review of 17 journal articles on behavioral economics, artificial intelligence, cognitive bias, nudging, and moral decision-making. Analysis is conducted through data extraction, thematic coding, and conceptual synthesis to map the state of the art in research, identify normative gaps, and develop an alternative, value-based framework. The results show that the integration of behavioral economics and artificial intelligence has evolved to explain and manage cognitive biases, but has not yet been systematically integrated into a substantive normative value framework. Ethics in AI systems is still understood procedurally and is not yet oriented toward substantive justice, trust, and social usefulness. This study concludes that the principles of Amanah, 'Adl, and Ihsan can be positioned as alternative conceptual frameworks to strengthen ethical artificial intelligence approaches that are more just, responsible, and socially beneficial.
