Abstract

TEXTURE MEASUREMENT BY NEUTRON DIFFRACTION FOR A1 NON STANDARD STEEL BARS. Texture measurements are used to determine the orientation distribution of crystalline grains in a polycrystalline sample. A material is termed textured if the grains are aligned in a preferred orientation along certain lattice planes. The texture is usually introduced in the fabrication process (e.g. rolling of thin sheet metal, deposition, etc.) and affects the material properties by introducing structural anisotropy. The pole figure is the starting point of neutron texture analysis. Texture properties in an non-standard austenite Fe-Ni low carbon alloy were measured by the neutron diffraction method with the PD/Residual Stress Diffractometer DN3 apparatus in BATAN. In this paper, effects of hot rolling on the texture are studied using ODF plots generated by MAUD application code developed by Lutteroti. It was found that The ODF plots for the A1 as cast and 1200 °C hot rolled specimens show typical patterns for recrystallized and rolled cubic structure. The pole figures for this plate are consistent with Face Centered Cubic (FCC) rolling textures.

Abstract

SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF GRAPHITE NANOSTRUCTURE THIN FILM WITH SPUTTERING TECHNIQUE. Synthesis and characterization of graphite nanostructure thin film using the DC-sputtering technique has been carried out. Nanostructured graphite for target of deposition using DC-Sputtering technique has been prepared by milling technique using High Energy Milling (HEM) with the variation of milling time between 50 hours until 100 hours. First, the graphite target was prepared by doing a compaction using press machine to the nanostructured graphite powder got from milling process. Secondly, a thin filmof graphite was fabricated using DC-Sputtering technique. The phase identification of nanostructured graphite thin filmwere carried out using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), and the surface and cross section morphology of thin filmwere observed using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). XRD identification shows the presence of peaks of Si(100) and C(002) in all conditions of preparing powder using for target, but a shift of the angel‘s peak to the left and the decreasing of peak intensity were found. While the observation using SEM to surface morphology of thin film shows that the form of thin films are mostly homogeneous, smooth and flat at the milling time of 50-75 hours. From the SEM photograph of cross section, it is shown that there is a tendency of the more commonly found particles of droplets on the surface of thin film with the increasing of milling process against the carbon powder as a constituent of pellets for the DC-Sputtering targets, especially in the case of C/Si thin filmfabricated using target prepared by milling for 100 hours, the morphology of surface was worst.

Abstract

UNIQUE CONFORMATION OF RH(I) PILLAR COMPLEXES IMMOBILIZED ON TAENIOLITE. Rhodiumpillar complex with chiral diamine ligands, Rh-Cn-(-)-CHDA, were synthesized and intercalated with various loading amounts in the range of 19 - 26%CEC, Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) into Lithium Taeniolite (LiTN) These pillared catalysts (Rh-Cn-(-)-CHDA/TN) were characterized by XRD, elementary analysis, and FT-IR. Results of XRD analysis showed that the clearance space of the catalyst interlayer increased proportionally with the alkyl chain length of the ligandwith the slopeof 0.14 nm/CH2.

Abstract

EVALUATION OF Co-Mo/Al2O3 CATALYSTS FOR HYDRODESULFURIZATION PREPARED BY THE CHEMICAL VAPOR DEPOSITION TECHNIQUE AND CITRIC ACID ADDITION. Sulfided Co-Mo or Ni-Mo based catalysts still have been extensively used in refinery for Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) reaction, which is so-called Co-Mo-S phase as active sites. It is proposed that to obtain near zero sulfur content of fuels in the future is by improving the performance of Co-Mo catalysts. It could be approached with enhancing the amounts of active sites, Co-Mo-S phases, for instance with a sophisticated HDS catalysts preparation such as by a Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) technique using Co(CO)3NO as a precursor of Co and by the citric acid addition. It is demonstrated that if MoS2/Al2O3 is exposed to Co(CO)NO3 vapor and subsequently sulfided, Co-Mo-S phases form selectively when the Mo content exceeds monolayer loading. The maximum potential HDS activity of Co-Mo/Al2O3 catalysts also can be obtained by the CVD technique. With the conventional Co-Mo/Al2O3 catalysts, the edges of MoS2 particles are completely occupied by Co atoms around of 4 wt% Co, thus more addition of Co caused blocking of the active sites by over layers of Co sulfide clusters. However, with the citric acid addition, not only the amount coverage of Co atoms is increased, but also a high content of Mo could be also well dispersed (Mo > 20 wt%) on the surface support forms monolayer. In addition, the amount of Co forming Co-Mo-S phases was estimated from the correlation between NO/Mo and Co/Mo ratio by the CVD technique.

Abstract

PEMBUATAN KERAMIK FILM TEBAL Fe2O3-NiO DENGAN PEMANFAATAN Fe LOKAL UNTUK SENSOR GAS ASETON.
