Abstract

The use of instructional media in early childhood education plays a pivotal role insupporting children’s language development, particularly during the preoperational stagewhen symbolic thinking and emergent literacy skills begin to form. Busy Book media servesas an effective pedagogical tool that enables teachers to introduce letters, facilitatephonemic awareness, and guide children in constructing simple words through engaging,hands-on activities. Its interactive and tactile nature enhances children’s intrinsicmotivation, reducing feelings of boredom and promoting sustained attention throughoutthe learning process. In implementing the Busy Book intervention, the lesson plan (RPP)was adapted to align with the thematic unit on transportation, specifically focusing on twowheeled vehicles such as bicycles. Findings from hypothesis testing indicate a significantinfluence of Busy Book media on the language development of children aged 5–6 years atMutiara Bunda Kindergarten, Bogo Nganjuk. The average N-Gain score of theexperimental group reached 95.00%, demonstrating high effectiveness, while the controlgroup achieved 64.29%, categorized as moderately effective. Furthermore, the effect sizeanalysis revealed that Busy Book media contributed to a 62.22% improvement in children’slanguage development outcomes, underscoring its substantial impact as a developmentallyappropriate language-learning resource

Abstract

This study is motivated by the challenges teachers face in introducing numbers to early childhood learners. The difficulty arises because numbers are abstract concepts, while young children predominantly think concretely. An effective and engaging method to facilitate number recognition is the singing method, which combines auditory, visual, and kinesthetic activities to make learning more enjoyable and memorable for children. In this study, the learning process involved several stages. First, the planning stage followed the 2013 Curriculum (K13), where the teacher determined appropriate teaching techniques and prepared relevant materials and teaching aids. During implementation, the teacher presented images and asked the children to identify the number of symbols depicted. The teacher then displayed the corresponding number shape, and the children were guided to complete the shape by tracing or marking the unfinished points. Finally, the evaluation stage aimed to enhance learning outcomes through interactive assessments, such as question-and-answer sessions and simple quizzes. The results indicate that the singing method effectively improves children’s number recognition, encourages active participation, and supports both cognitive and fine motor development. These findings suggest that integrating creative, multisensory methods in early childhood education can facilitate the understanding of abstract concepts like numbers in a more engaging and developmentally appropriate way.

Abstract

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a developmental behavioral disorder characterized by difficulties in maintaining attention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. This condition can appear as early as the preschool years and may affect children’s academic, social, and emotional development. Early Childhood Education (PAUD) institutions serve as a strategic environment for consistent observation of children’s behavior through learning and play activities. This study aims to describe the role of PAUD institutions in the early detection of ADHD. The research applies a narrative review method by analyzing relevant scholarly literature from Google Scholar, PubMed, Elsevier, and other reputable journals. The findings reveal that PAUD institutions play a vital role in identifying early signs of ADHD through daily behavioral observations. Teachers act as the primary observers who can recognize symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Moreover, enhancing teachers’ competencies and fostering collaboration among educational institutions, parents, and professionals are essential to ensure effective early detection. Thus, PAUD institutions are not only responsible for providing early education but also act as the frontline in promoting children’s comprehensive development and mental well-being through a structured early detection system.

Abstract

This study aims to examine historically and theoretically the creative learning model based on the Seven Habits of Great Indonesian Children as an effort to improve children’s discipline and independence in learning. The concept of these seven habits is adapted from the theory of Seven Habits of Great Indonesian Children (SHGIC), which has been adjusted to the character values of the nation and the Pancasila Student Profile. Through a historical approach, this study traces the development of character education ideas in Indonesia and their relevance to current learning needs. The results of the study show that the application of a creative learning model based on the seven habits can naturally shape positive habits in children through habituation, role modeling, and meaningful play activities. This model is effective in fostering discipline, responsibility, and independent learning from an early age, while also supporting the creation of a humanistic and character-oriented learning environment.

Abstract

The results of a preliminary study found that children's language skills were still low. This problem arose because the learning provided was teacher-centered and limited to LKA. This study aimed to determine the effect of the sociodrama method in stimulating the language skills of children aged 5-6 years. This study used a quantitative research type with an ex post facto design. The subjects in this study were 32 teachers and 32 parents of children at a Surabaya Kindergarten. Data collection in this study was through an online questionnaire distributed using Google Forms. Data analysis in this study used simple linear regression analysis. Based on the calculation results, this study found that the sociodrama method contributed positively to language skills, especially in the number of vocabulary used by children to express their feelings. This indicates that there is an effect of the sociodrama method on children's language skills, where every one percent of the sociodrama method applied increases the child's language ability score. This study has implications for parents and teachers in stimulating children's language skills, especially vocabulary related to expressing expressions and feelings in children.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of online learning on the social competence of early childhood teachers, focusing on communication skills, collaboration, emotional regulation, and interactions with children and parents. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation from teachers engaged in online professional learning and instructional activities. The findings reveal that online learning provides meaningful opportunities for professional networking, knowledge sharing, and reflective dialogue, which contribute positively to teachers’ communication confidence and collaborative attitudes. However, the transition to digital platforms also reduced informal social interactions and limited the depth of relational connection among teachers, parents, and children. Teachers reported challenges in interpreting emotional cues, sustaining engagement, and building strong interpersonal bonds in virtual environments. The study further shows that the impact of online learning is context-dependent, influenced by technological access, institutional support, and digital literacy levels. Despite initial stress and uncertainty, teachers gradually developed resilience and adaptability in managing online communication. Overall, the results indicate that online learning both enhances and constrains social competence, suggesting the need for balanced integration of digital and face-to-face professional development. Strengthening institutional support and digital communication training is essential to maximize the benefits of online learning for teacher social competence.
