Abstract

Threats to the safety and security aspects of a facility target the physical aspects and the cyberinfrastructure. Critical facilities such as nuclear facilities use cyber-physical systems in their operating systems has vulnerabilities. Nuclear facilities in Indonesia could become targets of cyberterrorism because there have been incidents of attacks in several countries related to nuclear terrorism for specific purposes that threaten the safety and security operations of nuclear facilities. Similar threats may occur at other nuclear facilities as well as nuclear facilities in Indonesia, including the nuclear facility in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to propose a nuclear cybersecurity program with a qualitative approach to attract more attention in supporting the anticipation of increasing cybersecurity threats at nuclear facilities. The program proposed was based on the description of terminology in nuclear safety and security and literature studies describing incidents of nuclear cyberterrorism attacks in the past. A cyber nuclear security program has been proposed through stakeholder collaboration, resource support, and capacity building for the ongoing nuclear security program.

Abstract

This study analyzes the characteristics of ambient noise from four micro-earthquake observation stations located on Bangka Island nuclear power plant site. The analysis was performed using the PSD (Probability Spectral Density) method available in Obspy python-based library. Based on the observational data, the accuracy level at the four observation stations on Bangka Island is under the New High Model Noise (NHNM). Analysis was performed by comparing the 2021 and previous studies using 2014 data. An appropriate noise model as suggested by McNamara and Buland (2004) was developed using Obspy python-based library. At the period range of 0.1-1 sec, most of the station exhibits good performance. The noise level at periods 1-10 sec developed a decreasing pattern along with higher periods. At a period larger than 10 sec, 2021 data shows a better performance compared to the 2014 data.

Abstract

Gamma irradiation is widely used in herbal medicine industries as an efficient preservative method in reducing microorganism contaminants. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of gamma irradiation at the doses of 5; 7.5; and 10 kGy on H. sabdariffa ethanolic extract (HS-EE). The Co-60 was used for irradiation the samples. The phytochemical content of HS-EE was carried out by total microorganism analysis using dilution method, TPC by Follin-Cicalteu method, TFC by aluminium chloride colorimetric method, antioxidant activity using DPPH method, TLC profiling on silica gel F254, in vitro anticancer activity using A-549, HUT-78, and MCF-7 cancer cell lines. The irradiation at 10 kGy caused the total bacteria decreased, while dose of 5 kGy could eliminate the total mold. Irradiation at 5 kGy caused TPC, TFC, and antioxidant activity decreased by 5-11%. TLC chromatograms analysis confirmed that one of the compounds contained in HS-EE was quercetin. The HS-EE has the strongest anticancer property against HUT-78 (IC50 10.51 µg/mL) followed by against MCF-7 (IC50 13.39 µg/mL), and A-549 (IC50 14.19 µg/mL). It can be concluded that irradiation at a dose of 10 kGy could remove total bacteria and molds, decreasing the phytochemical content and anticancer activities of HS-EE. It is recommended to increase the active ingredient level in the formulation.

Abstract

Illegal mining activity is still operated along the watershed of Batang Hari, which could potentially be contaminated by natural radionuclides, which are Uranium-238 (238U), Thorium-232 (232Th), Radium-226 (226Ra), Polonium-210 (210Po), Kalium (40K), and Lead-210 (210Pb). This study aimed to measure activity concentrations of 238U, 232Th, and 40K in river water, groundwater, and drinking water samples along Batang Hari River, then calculate radiological hazard parameters in the sample. The sample collects from 3 different locations from 3 sample types Muaro Jambi District, Jambi City, District Batanghari, Tebo District, and Bungo District. The samples were measured using gamma spectrometry High Purity Germanium (HPGe) for 17 hours. The results showed that the average value of the radiology hazard parameters sample consists of Raeq 0,307653, AEDE that is 1,771 x10-6, and each external and internal hazard index are 0,00083 and 0,00155, respectively. The radiological hazard parameters in water samples along Batang Hari River, Jambi, are below the limit recommended that Raeq is 370 Bq.L-1, AEDE is 1 mSv.y-1, and hazard index Hex and Hin are 1. This study showed that the water is safe and fulfills the radiological aspect of water quality requirements.

Abstract

Collecting information and earthquake investigation must be carried out to ensure the safety of the nuclear installation candidate site from seismic aspects. Accurate earthquake location data is essential for seismological studies. The accuracy must be improved from the velocity model factor in determining earthquake parameters in a limited number of stations and less azimuth coverage. The study aims to get the most appropriate velocity model for determining earthquake parameters in the near regional of the Bangka NPP candidate site. The study uses earthquake seismic data in Bangka seismic network with variations of the H-S, Crust 2.0, and TPI velocity models to determine earthquake parameters. The most appropriate velocity model is determined based on the comparison with BMKG results and the smallest errors in identifying earthquake parameters. The results show almost the same epicenter and origin time but different earthquake depths. The TPI velocity model best represents the velocity model in the near regional of the Bangka NPP candidate site. TPI falls into the criteria of tectonic earthquake type and most errors (latitude, longitude, and depth) in earthquake parameters determination are the smallest among other velocity models.

Abstract

Telah dilakukankajian pengaruh tegangan listrik terhadap kerusakan kopling pompa pendingin sekunder selatan, kajian ini dilakukan tujuannya adalah untuk mengetahui apakah tegangan listrik  berpengaruh terhadap  kerusakan kopling pompa, sehingga harus diganti dengan yang baru. Kegiatan penggantiankopling pompa  dilakukan diakhir tahun 2017. Metoda kajian menggunakan Unbalance Voltage, kegiatan dimulai dengan mengukur besaran tegangan listrikdi tiga kabel yaitu(V(R-S), V(R-T), V(S-T))yang telah melewati Molded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB) dan dua kontaktor, dilakukan selama 2 jam.Untuk mengetahui keseimbangan dari tegangan listrik yang terukur, maka data hasil pengukuran tegangan yang terkumpul, kemudian dihitung menggunakan rumus NEMA Unbalance Voltage. NEMA memberikan rekomendasi: motor dapat dioperasikan secara normal pada kapasitas rated jika unbalance voltage ≤ 1%. Hasil perhitungan nilai persentase unbalance voltage ada yang mencapai nilai sebesar: 2,17%. Hasil tersebut menunjukan bahwa nilai Unbalance voltage pada  pompa pendingin sekunder selatan tidak berpengaruh  terhadap kerusakan kopling pompa tetapi berpengaruh kepada kenaikan suhu motor pompa sehingga menyebabkan  panas yang berlebih (overheatin) Dapat disimpulkan bahwa nilai Unbalance voltage pada panel catu daya listrik system pendingin sekunder bukan sebagai penyebab kerusakan kopling pompa, namun kerusakan kopling disebabkan karena adanya penurunan kinerja akibat umur pakai komponen.

Abstract

Perangkat Data Acquisition Computer – Sistem Instrumentasi dan Kendali (DAC-SIK) Reaktor TRIGA 2000 memerlukan suplai tegangan murni tanpa adanya gangguan noise / derau.  Berdasarkan pengamatan tegangan masuk dipre-Amplifier PA15 menggunakan Digital Oscilloscope Tektronik terhadap tegangan yang masuk perangkat DAC, ditemukan adanya lonjakan tegangan hingga 2000-2400 mV yang menyebabkan SCRAM, sedangkan standarnya dibatasi 20 mV.  Lonjakan tegangan yang masuk perangkat DAC dalam orde milivolt (mV) diolah pada blok pengolah sinyal pre-Amplifier PA15 yang sangat sensitif terhadap kenaikan arus dan tegangan meskipun dalam orde mV. Agar reaktor dapat dioperasikan dengan aman dan selamat serta tidak ada gangguan derau ,maka derau tegangan tersebut harus dihilangkan dengan memasang perangkat EMI (Electromagnetic Interface) filter pasif 220VAC/40A yang mampu menangani lonjakan arus sebesar dua kali lebih besar daripada beban arus perangkat DAC-SIK reaktor (5KVA/20A). Dari hasil pengamatan dengan menggunakan Digital Oscilloscope Tektronik pada sistem setelah dipasang EMI filter diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa perangkat ini mampu menurunkan derau hingga 10 kali lipatnya dan reaktor dapat dioperasikan dengan aman dan selamat tanpa adanya gangguan derau tegangan.

Abstract

Nowadays, nutrition problem becomes an important issue in many developing countries. Lack or excess macro and micro elements in food can interfere human health. Therefore, food safety needs a reliable analytical method in accuracy and precision. In this activity, characterization of toxic (As, Pb, Cd, Hg) and essential elements (Na, K, Ca, Mg, Fe,Cu, Zn) in rice flour and fish meal had been done using Neutron Activation Analysis (NAA) and Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS). Both samples provided by The Asia Pacific Food Analysis Network (APFAN) on 2017. Three replications were prepared. Reducing the probability of contaminating the sample is a must. AAS needs homogenous liquid samples therefore samples were digested using microwave digestion to avoid loss of volatile elements from the samples. Evaluation on rice flour and fish meal samples analysis were based on Z-score value with 3 categories: satisfactory, questionable and unsatisfactory result. Both methods had satisfactory result in rice flour where Z-score value of K, Ca, Zn < 2 meanwhile AAS gave Mg, Fe, Cu, Cd < 2 in the same sample. NAA gave the Z-score 2 < Mg < 3 in rice flour. Satisfied performance in fish meal gave Z-score values of K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn < 2 for both of them. Values of Na < 2 and 2 < Hg < 3 obtained from NAA in fish meal and Z-score of As was < 2 with NAA. Moreover, 2 < Pb < 3 obtained from AAS in fish meal sample. These results showed that NAA and AAS are accurate and precise methods on food analysis in rice flour and fish meal from APFAN to maintain laboratory competency.

Abstract

Preliminary Study of Plutonium Utilization in AP1000 Reactor Use SRAC 2006 and JENDL 3.3 has been conducted. Nuclear energy, especially for nuclear reactor, become important this day because the need of energy will increase along with the increasing of human population, the advanced technology and economic. The more nuclear reactor operated the more existence of plutonium stockpile. This study evaluated the standard of Westinghouse AP1000 reactor and ZrB2 as Integral Fuel Burnable Absorber (IFBA). Different fuel compositions of assembly type were analyze in by using SRAC 2006 code system with JENDL 3.3 nuclear data library. This study aiming to compare the neutronics characteristics of an UO2 and an (U,Pu)O2 assembly designs. Some results of the study show that optimal criticality of the fuel assembly can be accomplished by using 5% enrichment of U-235 for UO2 fuel and 9% plutonium fraction for (U,Pu)O2 fuel assembly.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan Kaji Ulang Penetapan Nilai Pembatas Dosis (NPD) Pekerja Radiasi yang telah berlaku sejak tahun 2014 di PSTNT. Beroperasinya kembali reaktor TRIGA 2000 secara rutin sejak tahun 2017 meningkatkan volume kegiatan laboratorium RISB dan AAN. Peningkatan volume kegiatan tersebut menyebabkan peningkatan terimaan paparan radiasi dan berakibat pada meningkatnya terimaan dosis akumulasi Pekerja Radiasi di PSTNT, sehingga perlu dilakukan kaji ulang terhadap NPD Pekerja Radiasi di PSTNT. Tujuan dari kaji ulang NPD adalah untuk memperbaharui nilai pembatas dosis yang telah ada sebelumnya (15 mSv/tahun). Kaji ulang dilakukan dengan menginventarisasi: jenis kegiatan dengan sumber bahaya potensial di reaktor dan laboratorium radiasi, terimaan dosis pekerja radiasi selama 4 tahun (2015 – 2018) dan membandingkan jenis kegiatan dengan sumber bahaya potensial dengan terimaan dosis pekerja radiasi rata-rata. Peningkatan kegiatan di PSTNT mengakibatkan semakin meningkatnya terimaan dosis akumulasi rata- rata, dosis maksimum tahunan dan dosis kolektif dari tiap bidang di PSTNT. Meningkatnya dosis tersebut menunjukkan kecenderungan Nilai Batas dosis (NBD) dapat dilampaui dan resiko radiasi bagi para pekerja juga akan semakin meningkat. Untuk menurunkan resiko radiasi bagi Pekerja Radiasi maka nilai NBD tidak boleh dilampaui sehingga perlu dilakukan penurunan NPD dari 15 mSv/tahun menjadi 10 mSv/tahun.
