Abstract

Bank Wakaf Mikro (BWM), established by OJK and the government, is a strategic step in empowering the economy of communities around Islamic boarding schools. With a group model, simple procedures, and ongoing assistance, BWM plays a role in reducing poverty, providing access to capital without collateral, and countering loan sharking practices. This research, which uses an exploratory qualitative approach, examines community economic empowerment through the implementation of BWM KHAS Kempek. The results show that the BWM CSR grant management mechanism involves: (a) sources of funds from individual and corporate donors, (b) a loan distribution system with intensive mentoring, and (c) locking some of the grant funds in the form of deposits for sustainability. The Akad used includes a grant contract, al-qardh contract, and ju'âlah contract. Pesantren-based micro business empowerment is realized through increasing the number of customers, optimizing business potential, and financial and spiritual assistance through the Weekly Halaqoh (HALMI). This finding confirms the role of pesantren as economic and social drivers of the community. Practically, this research provides insights for policy makers, Islamic financial institutions, and pesantren managers in developing a sustainable and community-based microfinance model. With this approach, it is expected that BWM can further improve the welfare of the community around the pesantren and become an effective model of financial inclusion.

Abstract

This research is based on the idea that interest in becoming an Islamic insurance customer is influenced by marketing strategies, Islamic religious teachings, and the need for insurance. These variables are analyzed using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method, with interest as the dependent variable and the other three variables as independent variables. The results showed that marketing strategies, Islamic religious teachings, and insurance needs partially had a positive and significant effect on interest in becoming Islamic insurance customers at Bank Syariah Cirebon City, with insurance needs as the most dominant variable. The implications of these findings suggest that Islamic financial institutions need to further customize marketing strategies and religious education approaches to increase the attractiveness of Islamic insurance for the community.

Abstract

In choosing a savings product, customers make decisions based on their individual needs and preferences, considering the advantages and disadvantages of each product. Bank Syariah Indonesia offers two savings products that customers can choose from: Easy Wadiah Savings and Easy Mudharabah Savings. Despite the presence of numerous conventional banks in the area, the local community continues to trust and prefer savings products from Bank Syariah Indonesia due to the convenience offered and their perception of Islamic banks as interest-free financial institutions, which strengthens their confidence in saving money with Bank Syariah Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to analyze customer decisions in selecting BSI Easy Wadiah and BSI Easy Mudharabah savings products at Bank Syariah Indonesia KCP Cirebon Arjawinangun. The research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the decision-making process follows five stages, where customers select the savings product that best suits their needs and preferences. Customers who choose the Easy Wadiah Savings product are primarily motivated by the absence of administrative fees, while those who opt for the Easy Mudharabah Savings product are attracted by the profit-sharing system. Both choices are driven by the desire for a sharia-compliant savings product, as both offerings are in line with Islamic banking principles. Initial information about the Easy Wadiah and Mudharabah savings products is often obtained from friends or relatives, followed by detailed explanations provided by customer service representatives. Respondents stated that both savings products meet their expectations and align with their financial needs.

Abstract

The phenomenon of illegal parking attendants and pak ogah in the public spaces of Majalengka Regency reflects complex economic and social problems. This study aims to analyze the factors that cause the rampant practice and examine its suitability with the principles of Islamic economics. The research used descriptive qualitative methods with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies. The results show that economic (unemployment and poverty), social (low education and permissive culture), and structural (weak regulations and lack of law enforcement) factors are the main causes. From an Islamic economic perspective, this practice contradicts the principles of justice, benefit and transparency of the contract. This study recommends solutions based on community empowerment through mosques and ZISWAF funds, strengthening integrated regulations, and sustainable Islamic economic education.
