Abstract

This study aims to analyze how symbolic interaction is formed within the online community of Genshin Impact players and how such interactions contribute to fulfilling the social needs of its members. In the digital era, online communities function not only as platforms for sharing information but also as social arenas where individuals construct identity, intimacy, and shared meaning through digital communication symbols. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, using in-depth interviews with five purposively selected informants and observations of community activities on platforms such as Discord. Data analysis follows the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that interactions within the community are constructed through linguistic symbols, emojis, GIFs, voice chat, and community-specific jargon such as “whenyah” and “istri gua.” These symbols function not only as communication tools but also as means of establishing digital identity and social closeness. Furthermore, the community plays a role in fulfilling members’ social needs, including affiliation, emotional support, information, entertainment, and identity expression. Thus, online communities serve as significant digital social spaces for building relationships and fulfilling individuals’ social needs. These findings indicate that digital communities play an important role as modern social arenas, where communication symbols serve as the primary medium for constructing meaning, identity, and fulfilling the social needs of community members.

Abstract

Studi ini mengkaji modal sosial Medulu Mepokoaso dan kearifan lokal Monahu Ndau dalam membangun ketahanan pangan tradisional Suku Tolaki di Kecamatan Tongauna Utara, Kabupaten Konawe. Pokok permasalahan yang diangkat adalah bagaimana eksistensi elemen-elemen Medulu Mepokoaso (solidaritas sosial dan gotong royong dalam budaya Tolaki) dan Monahu Ndau (kearifan lokal Suku Tolaki yang mengatur tata kelola pascapanen, penyimpanan, dan distribusi pangan dalam komunitas) sebagai pranata sosial-budaya, serta bagaimana keduanya berkontribusi terhadap ketahanan pangan berbasis komunitas di tengah tekanan modernisasi dan perubahan sosial. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus, melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipan, dan studi dokumentasi terhadap tokoh adat, petani, dan perangkat desa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Medulu Mepokoaso termanifestasi dalam jaringan gotong royong, kepercayaan, dan norma timbal balik yang memperkuat kerja kolektif dalam produksi dan distribusi pangan, sedangkan Monahu Ndau mengatur tata kelola pascapanen, penyimpanan, dan konsumsi pangan melalui pengetahuan ekologis lokal dan ritual adat. Sinergi keduanya membentuk model ketahanan pangan tradisional yang meningkatkan ketersediaan, akses, dan stabilitas pangan komunitas. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa penguatan kebijakan ketahanan pangan perlu mengakui dan mengintegrasikan modal sosial dan kearifan lokal Tolaki sebagai basis pengembangan komunitas yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemanfaatan modal sosial dan strategi adaptasi sosial ekonomi masyarakat untuk mempertahankan keberlangsungan hidup dalam rumah tangga. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Kalia Lia Kota Baubau. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Informan penelitian dipilih secara purposif dengan teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis kualitatif melalui proses reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan yang dilakukan secara interaktif sejak pengumpulan data hingga penarikan kesimpulan. Untuk menjaga keabsahan data penelitian, dalam kajian ini menggunakan teknik triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi metode yakni dengan membandingkan data hasil wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa modal sosial dalam masyarakat terbentuk melalui kepercayaan, norma sosial, serta jaringan sosial yang memiliki makna yang sangat penting dalam mendukung aktivitas sosial dan ekonomi masyarakat. Modal sosial telah dimanfaatkan dalam berbagai strategi adaptasi sosial dan ekonomi, yakni diversifikasi mata pencaharian, pemanfaatan jaringan kekerabatan dalam upaya memperoleh modal usaha, serta kerja sama dalam kegiatan ekonomi. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa modal sosial memiliki peranan yang sangat penting dalam mendukung kemampuan adaptasi sosial ekonomi masyarakat di tengah keterbatasan sumber daya dan ketidakpastian pendapatan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of female smoked fish sellers to supporting the family economy and to identify factors that encourage women to work as smoked fish sellers in Malalanda Village, Kulisusu District, North Buton Regency. This study used a qualitative approach. The informants in this study were the Malalanda Village Head who was willing to provide information and female smoked fish sellers. The informants were determined using a purposive sampling technique. Data sources used in this study included primary and secondary data. Data collection methods used were documentation, observation, and surveys. Data analysis techniques were carried out through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the contribution of female smoked fish sellers is able to improve the family economy and meet the family's daily living expenses. The factors that encourage women to work as smoked fish sellers are the family's low economic condition and the low level of education.

Abstract

This study aims to critically examine the impact and practicality of the Constitutional Court's decision Number: 135/PPU-XXII/2004 in separating national and regional elections, and assess its contribution to strengthening Indonesia's democratic governance in the future. The research method used is a type of qualitative research with a descriptive approach to analysis, data obtained through primary data by conducting direct interviews with informants and secondary data by collecting various literature, from books, journals that are in accordance with the author's research. The results of this study show that the simultaneous elections in 2019 and 2024 combined for one day of voting between national elections and local elections pose a technical and administrative burden for election organizers and reduce the quality of voter rationality and weaken the space for political deletion, especially at the regional level. This study concludes that the separation of national and regional elections provides benefits by focusing on voters, as well as easing the workload of organizers so that they are able to produce election results through a quality democratic process even though the cost burden is greater.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze how group conformity develops into a form of normalization of verbal sexual display behavior in higher education environments in Indonesia through the perspective of Criminal Sociology. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with an analytical literature study approach through academic literature, relevant regulations, as well as cases that became public attention in April 2026, namely the case of the student conversation group at the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia and the controversy over the song "Erika" performed by the Mining Student Association of the Bandung Institute of Technology. The analytical framework for this research uses anomie theory, the concept of toxic masculinity, a patriarchal perspective, as well as rape culture and victim blaming. The research results show that verbal and digital sexual understanding in the campus environment is formed through a group conformity mechanism which takes place gradually until it develops into an unwritten norm within the group. This research concludes that the normalization of sexual conversations in the campus environment occurs through three stages: initial conformity, consent without sanctions, and internalization as an unwritten group norm. This research further encourages strengthening the preventive and active role of the PPKS Task force, integrating gender education in the academic environment, as well as enforcing strict and transparant sancionts in the tertiary environment
