Abstract

Treatment of cough and cold is prioritized non-pharmacological. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in the level of knowledge and skills of mothers in handling cold coughs with acupressure through the media of leaflets and videos. The research method is Quasi Experimental Two Group Pretest Posttest. Population of mothers who have toddlers aged 1 to 5 years at Taman Sidoarjo Public Health Center. The Non Probability sample of 40 people was divided into two groups of leaflets and videos. The pretest uses a questionnaire for knowledge level and a checklist for mother's skills. Posttest one week after getting the intervention. The results of the research data were analyzed by the Independent T-Test test. The results of pretest leafleat knowledge 74.50 video 78.00 posttest leafleat 84.00 video 90.50 for pretest leafleat and video skills .00 posttest leafleat 11.743 video 9.787. The results of the T-Test test showed a p value > 0.05, so education on treating cold coughs with acupressure using leaflet and video media provided an increase in knowledge and skills, there was a difference in improvement, but the difference was not significant.

Abstract

General Background: Adolescence is marked by psychological and emotional transitions that can trigger behavioral instability. Specific Background: Aggressive behavior among students, including physical, verbal, emotional, and cognitive hostility, is increasingly observed, while emotional intelligence is linked to self-awareness, emotional control, empathy, motivation, and social interaction skills. Knowledge Gap: Empirical data examining the statistical relationship between emotional intelligence and aggressive behavior among vocational high school students, particularly in SMK X Sidoarjo, remains limited. Aims: This study investigates the relationship between emotional intelligence and aggressive behavior among vocational adolescents. Results: A quantitative correlational approach involving 289 students revealed a significant negative relationship between emotional intelligence and aggressive behavior (p = 0.012; r = -0.133). Emotional intelligence contributed 1.8% to the variance in aggressive behavior, with most students showing moderate levels of both variables. Novelty: This study provides empirical statistical evidence regarding the association between emotional intelligence and aggressive tendencies in Indonesian vocational adolescents. Implications: The findings offer academic and practical insights for educators and school counseling services in developing emotional intelligence programs to address aggressive tendencies among students. Highlights: Statistical Testing Confirmed a Significant Inverse Association Between Measured Psychological Variables. Most Participants Demonstrated Moderate Levels Across Both Measured Constructs. The Measured Psychological Predictor Accounted for a Small Proportion of Behavioral Variance. Abstract

General Background: Visual learning media are widely utilized to support literacy development among elementary school students through engaging instructional materials. Specific Background: Big Book media, characterized by large text and illustrations, has been adapted into a Pop Up 3D format to create interactive reading materials introducing animal species and habitats in English. Knowledge Gap: Existing Big Book learning media are commonly available in standard formats and rarely integrate oversized layouts with three-dimensional page displays across the entire content. Aims: This study aims to develop and describe the design and content of a handmade 3D Pop Up Big Book that supports reading activities and student engagement in elementary English learning. Results: The developed product consists of five themed pages presenting animals including lion, elephant, butterfly, frog, and dolphin, each accompanied by descriptive English text and visually raised pop-up illustrations. The book uses contrasting colors, sticker-based imagery, cardboard structure, and large-format text to facilitate literacy activities and interactive teacher-student learning procedures, including predictive reading and 5W+1H questioning strategies. Novelty: The integration of oversized Big Book format with full-page 3D pop-up elements and handmade instructional design represents a distinctive learning media model combining visual storytelling and literacy practice. Implications: The product provides an alternative instructional resource that supports reading practice, student participation, and teacher creativity in developing engaging English literacy learning for elementary education. Abstract

General Background: Archery performance relies on upper extremity muscle strength, shoulder flexibility, and stable shooting mechanics to maintain accuracy. Specific Background: Weak arm strength and limited shoulder mobility often reduce drawing stability and shooting precision among archery athletes. Knowledge Gap: Evidence connecting resistance band shoulder training with measurable improvements in muscle strength, flexibility, and 15-meter archery scores remains limited. Aims: This study evaluated a six-week resistance band shoulder training program on arm muscle strength, shoulder flexibility, and shooting accuracy among university archery club members. Results: Following twelve training sessions, dominant arm strength increased from 20 kg to 21.5 kg, non-dominant arm strength improved from 17 kg to 18 kg, shoulder flexibility increased from 20 cm to 22.3 cm, and archery scores improved from 116 points to 124 points at a 15-meter distance. Novelty: This study combines clinical physical assessments with archery performance scoring to examine resistance band training within an archery conditioning program. Implications: Resistance band shoulder training can support physical readiness, joint mobility, and shooting consistency in structured archery training. Highlights: Progressive Elastic Exercise Produced Measurable Arm Force Development Across Dominant and Non-Dominant Sides. Abstract

General Background: The bandwagon effect describes individuals’ tendency to follow behaviors or trends adopted by others. Specific Background: Among students, peer interaction frequently shapes participation in popular trends within school environments. Knowledge Gap: Limited qualitative research explores adolescents’ lived experiences in understanding how bandwagon behavior forms. Aims: This study investigates the manifestation of bandwagon phenomena among high school students. Results: Using a qualitative phenomenological approach at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo with three participants, data from interviews revealed that conformity and interpersonal factors played stronger roles in trend participation than status motives. Students often followed trends without prior evaluation and reported mixed outcomes, including positive and negative experiences. Novelty: This study offers phenomenological insight into students’ subjective perspectives by examining conformity, interpersonal dynamics, and status orientation within bandwagon behavior. Implications: The findings provide contextual understanding for educators and psychologists to develop awareness and guidance strategies related to adolescent social behavior in educational settings. Abstract

General Background: Academic engagement is crucial for maintaining concentration and optimizing student learning processes. Specific Background: Observations among Biology students at the University of Lampung indicated decreased classroom focus, frequent gadget use during lectures, and low motivation in completing practicum reports. Knowledge Gap: Empirical studies examining the relationship between social support and academic flow among Biology undergraduate students remain limited. Aims: This study investigates the relationship between social support and academic flow among fourth-semester Biology students at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Lampung. Results: Using a correlational quantitative design with Likert-scale psychological instruments and SPSS 25.0 analysis, the findings showed a significant positive relationship between social support and academic flow, with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.265 and a significance value of 0.019 (<0.05). Novelty: This study presents quantitative evidence specifically examining academic flow in Biology students through standardized measurement of social support variables. Implications: The findings indicate that strengthening interpersonal support systems is associated with improved student engagement and concentration during academic activities, providing considerations for educational stakeholders in supporting learning experiences. Abstract

General Background: The global growth of Korean popular culture has intensified fandom engagement and consumption-oriented activities. Specific Background: Indonesian NCT fans actively purchase idol-related merchandise, which is often linked to pleasure-oriented lifestyle tendencies and behavioral regulation. Knowledge Gap: Empirical research examining the relationship between pleasure-oriented lifestyle patterns, behavioral regulation, and merchandise buying tendencies among Indonesian NCT fans remains limited. Aims: This study analyzed the relationship between pleasure-oriented lifestyle patterns and behavioral regulation with merchandise buying tendencies among Indonesian NCT fans. Results: Using a quantitative design with accidental sampling, 384 respondents were recruited from a Twitter fanbase. Reliability testing indicated strong internal consistency across instruments. Nonparametric correlation analysis revealed significant relationships between buying tendencies and pleasure-oriented lifestyle patterns (r = 0.661; p < .001) and behavioral regulation (r = 0.586; p < .001), with behavioral regulation demonstrating a stronger statistical association. Novelty: The study provides empirical evidence linking fandom consumption patterns with lifestyle orientation and behavioral regulation using validated psychometric measures within Indonesian NCT fan communities. Implications: The findings highlight the importance of strengthening behavioral regulation and awareness of pleasure-driven lifestyle tendencies to reduce excessive merchandise purchasing and support future consumer behavior studies in fandom contexts. Abstract

General Background: Language functions as a fundamental communication tool encompassing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in early childhood development. Specific Background: Observations in a kindergarten setting revealed that children aged 5–6 years demonstrated limited ability to answer questions, retell stories, and construct simple written sentences, indicating insufficient stimulation of language acquisition. Knowledge Gap: Although storytelling is widely applied in early childhood education, structured integration of animated fairy tale media within classroom-based action research to address multiple language indicators remains underexplored. Aims: This study aimed to increase language abilities of children aged 5–6 years through animated fairy tale learning activities conducted in classroom instruction. Results: Using Classroom Action Research based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model involving 13 children across pre-cycle, Cycle I, and Cycle II, the average language achievement increased from 38% in the pre-cycle to 52% in Cycle I and reached 76% in Cycle II, with 92% of children achieving mastery criteria. Improvements were observed in answering complex questions, retelling stories, and writing simple structured sentences. Novelty: This study presents a structured application of short-duration animated fable storytelling with forward plot sequences and interactive questioning as a classroom-based instructional intervention. Implications: The findings indicate that animated fairy tale learning provides an alternative pedagogical strategy for early childhood language instruction and supports development of listening, speaking, and early literacy competencies. Abstract

General Background: Prosocial behavior plays a crucial role in adolescent social development and character formation within educational settings. Specific Background: In vocational high schools, students’ social interactions reflect helping, sharing, cooperating, honesty, and generosity, which contribute to a positive school climate. Knowledge Gap: However, empirical data describing the level and distribution of prosocial behavior among vocational high school students remain limited, particularly in specific institutional contexts. Aims: This study aims to describe the prosocial behavior profile of students at SMK Sepuluh Nopember Sidoarjo. Results: Using a quantitative descriptive design with proportional stratified random sampling, the findings indicate that students’ prosocial behavior generally falls within the moderate category. The helping and cooperating aspects show the highest percentages, while sharing appears at a relatively lower level compared to other dimensions. Novelty: This research provides a context-specific empirical mapping of prosocial behavior among vocational students using a structured multidimensional approach. Implications: The findings offer practical considerations for guidance and counseling programs and character education strategies to strengthen positive social engagement among students in vocational education setting Keywords: Prosocial behavior, Adolescents, Vocational High School Students, Character Education, Quantitative Descriptive Study Key Findings Highlights: Students demonstrate a moderate overall level of social-oriented actions. Abstract

General Background: Antibacterial agents are widely studied to control bacterial growth in medical and food applications. Specific Background: Himalayan Pink salt and Krosok salt contain sodium chloride with varying salinity levels and are investigated for antibacterial activity against Lactobacillus acidophilus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Knowledge Gap: Comparative evidence regarding antibacterial responses between different salt types and concentration levels remains limited. Aims: This study compares antibacterial activity of Himalayan Pink salt and Krosok salt solutions at concentrations of 5%–25% against both bacteria. Results: Sterile distilled water produced no inhibition, while ciprofloxacin generated inhibition zones of 4.43 mm against Lactobacillus acidophilus and 22.69 mm against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Both salt solutions showed increased inhibition as concentration increased. Against Lactobacillus acidophilus, both salts produced weak inhibition ranging from 0.03 mm to 0.35 mm. Against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Himalayan Pink salt produced inhibition diameters from 5.53 mm to 10.95 mm, while Krosok salt produced 5.56 mm to 10.55 mm. Novelty: This study demonstrates comparable antibacterial response patterns between two natural salt types across concentration variations. Implications: The findings provide reference data supporting saline solutions as alternative antibacterial materials and contribute to antimicrobial research. Highlights: Increasing Salinity Concentration Produced Larger Inhibition Zones in Both Tested Microorganisms. Ciprofloxacin Generated Strong Bacterial Suppression for One Tested Species and Weak Suppression for Another.
