Abstract

General Background: The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in education has transformed students' approaches to learning and task completion. Specific Background: One of the most prominent AI tools, ChatGPT, offers rapid assistance with academic work, yet raises concerns about over-reliance and ethical misuse. Knowledge Gap: Despite growing global discourse, there remains limited empirical research on AI usage in smaller, non-urban institutions in Indonesia. Aims: This study investigates how students at STKIP Muhammadiyah Pagaralam utilize ChatGPT to complete assignments, examining usage patterns, benefits, ethical awareness, and dependence. Results: Based on responses from 353 students, 95.8% reported using ChatGPT, primarily for essays and reference gathering. While 92.8% found it helpful for efficiency, 91.1% cross-verified its content, and 61.2% claimed continued task capability without it. Novelty: Unlike prior studies with conceptual or qualitative scopes, this research provides the first quantitative insight into ChatGPT's academic role in a Muhammadiyah institution. Implications: The findings highlight a balanced integration of AI, underscoring the need for institutional policies that encourage ethical use while fostering digital literacy and independent learning.Highlight : ChatGPT is widely used (95.8%) but students remain critical—91.1% verify its outputs with other sources. Most students benefit from faster task completion and improved understanding without over-relying on the tool. Ethical awareness is high—83.4% recognize plagiarism risks and support responsible AI use in education. Abstract

Background : Prosodic entrainment is a phenomenon in which many different fields intersect such as psycholinguistics, phonetics, and other fields. Aims: This systematic review tries to provide a comprehensive overview of existing research on prosodic entrainment in dialogues. Methods: Various studies are reviewed and compared to reach how speakers use their tone of voice to match it with other conversers. Different articles are reviewed to check their relativity to prosodic entrainment and the factor that affect entrainment. Results: It is shown that prosodic entrainment is affected by context, emotional state, task together with other factors. Discussion: Several studies on prosodic entrainment shed the light on the understanding of how people communicate. . Conclusions: The findings arrived at are supposed to contribute the dynamics of prosodic entrainment and its role in communication. Highlights: Highlights how tone and rhythm align in spoken interactions. Identifies emotional and contextual factors influencing entrainment. Bridges linguistic theory with communication practice. Abstract

General Background: The global carpet industry continues to evolve amid rising consumer expectations for quality, sustainability, and innovation. Specific Background: SAG Carpet Company, a market leader in Uzbekistan, integrates traditional craftsmanship with modern production to offer high-quality carpets, artificial grass, and agricultural exports. Knowledge Gap: Despite its market presence, limited studies analyze how such heritage-based firms adopt strategic marketing frameworks in competitive international contexts. Aims: This study aims to evaluate SAG's comprehensive marketing strategy using SWOT, BCG Matrix, Marketing Mix (4Ps), and its dual-market (B2B and B2C) approach. Results: The analysis reveals that SAG's strengths lie in its vertically integrated production, diversified portfolio, and expanding global footprint. However, it faces challenges from increasing competition and shifting consumer trends. Novelty: This paper contributes by aligning traditional manufacturing values with digital transformation strategies, including smart carpet innovation, augmented reality retailing, and value-based pricing. Implications: The findings highlight strategic pathways for similar firms to sustain competitiveness by balancing cultural authenticity with technological advancement, offering insights for practitioners in emerging economies seeking global market integration. Abstract

General Background: Vehicle security and fleet management have become increasingly vital in response to the rising incidents of vehicle theft and transportation inefficiencies. Specific Background: GPS-based tracking systems offer real-time monitoring capabilities, yet many available solutions lack seamless integration with communication modules for efficient user interaction. Knowledge Gap: Despite advancements, limited attention has been given to systems that autonomously authenticate user requests and transmit location data directly to mobile interfaces via GSM and Android applications. Aims: This study proposes a GPS-based vehicle tracking system that integrates GPS receivers, microcontroller processing, and GSM communication for real-time, user-initiated location tracking. Results: The developed system effectively captures GPS coordinates, verifies user identity via incoming calls, and transmits location data through SMS, which is subsequently mapped in an Android app. Novelty: Unlike conventional models, the proposed system disables GSM post-transmission and activates continuous GPS tracking, optimizing power usage and ensuring uninterrupted monitoring. Implications: The integration of GPS and GSM with intelligent control logic provides a cost-effective, user-friendly solution for real-time vehicle tracking, with potential applications in personal vehicle security, fleet logistics, and geofencing enforcement. Abstract

General Background: Oral health is intricately associated with systemic health, particularly in the aging population where chronic conditions such as diabetes are prevalent. Specific Background: Chlorhexidine 0.2% mouthwash is widely used to reduce oral microbial load, potentially influencing systemic inflammation and metabolic markers. Knowledge Gap: However, the systemic impact of routine chlorhexidine use, especially on glycemic regulation in older adults, remains insufficiently explored. Aims: This cross-sectional study aimed to evaluate the association between the use of 0.2% chlorhexidine mouthwash and random blood glucose (RBG) levels, while considering age and gender influences. Results: Among 90 respondents, predominantly aged ≥40 years (82%), 34% reported regular chlorhexidine use. Users showed a lower mean RBG (120 mg/dL) compared to non-users (128 mg/dL), though the difference was not statistically significant (p > 0.05). Gender-based analysis also revealed no significant differences. Novelty: This study contributes novel insight by highlighting a possible, albeit non-significant, trend toward improved glycemic status in chlorhexidine users. Implications: While not conclusive, these findings suggest that consistent oral hygiene via chlorhexidine may support systemic health maintenance in older adults, reinforcing the need for longitudinal studies on its metabolic effects. Abstract

General Background: Environmental pollution, particularly by heavy metals, poses a growing threat to aquatic ecosystems and public health. Specific Background: The Euphrates River, a vital water source in southern Iraq, has been increasingly subjected to pollution from urban and industrial activities. Knowledge Gap: Despite its ecological and economic importance, data on spatial distribution and concentration of heavy metals in Suq Al-Shuyukh remain limited. Aims: This study aimed to estimate the concentrations of lead (Pb), copper (Cu), and cadmium (Cd) in the Euphrates River across different locations in Suq Al-Shuyukh city. Results: Using flame atomic absorption spectroscopy, the study found that concentrations of Pb and Cu were notably higher near riverbanks than midstream, indicating waste accumulation in stagnant waters. Pb levels were consistently the highest, suggesting it as the primary pollutant. Novelty: The study provides new comparative data between river center and bank pollution levels, highlighting critical zones of contamination previously underreported. Implications: The findings emphasize the urgent need for environmental monitoring and remediation strategies to mitigate heavy metal pollution in the Euphrates River, thereby protecting human and ecological health.Highlight : The study confirms elevated concentrations of lead and copper in riverbanks compared to midstream, indicating significant localized pollution. Cadmium, though less concentrated, exceeds WHO safety limits, posing long-term health risks due to accumulation in living organisms. Effective mitigation techniques such as chitosan and biomass treatments are proposed for removing heavy metals from water. Abstract

General Background: Sustainable agriculture increasingly relies on soil amendments that improve physical properties and resource efficiency. Specific Background: Zeolites—hydrated crystalline aluminosilicates—are recognized for their high porosity, cation exchange capacity, and water retention, making them valuable in soil management. Knowledge Gap: Despite broad applications, a comprehensive understanding of zeolite's role in enhancing physical soil properties across various textures under field conditions remains limited. Aims: This review investigates zeolite’s influence on soil bulk density, porosity, water retention, and overall plant productivity, particularly under water stress. Results: Findings from multiple field and laboratory studies reveal that zeolite addition improves water-holding capacity, reduces soil bulk density, enhances total porosity, and increases crop yield and water use efficiency. Novelty: The synthesis of recent evidence demonstrates that zeolites not only act as soil conditioners but also serve as strategic tools in mitigating water stress and optimizing nutrient use, outperforming other soil amendments such as biochar under similar conditions. Implications: These insights support integrating zeolite into sustainable soil management practices to bolster agricultural resilience in arid and semi-arid environments, aligning with global efforts toward resource-efficient and climate-adaptive farming systems.Highlight : Water Use Efficiency: Zeolites improve soil's ability to retain water, significantly benefiting crops under drought or limited irrigation. Abstract

General Background: TORCH infections—comprising Toxoplasma gondii, Rubella virus, Cytomegalovirus (CMV), and Herpes simplex virus (HSV)—pose severe risks to fetal health if acquired during pregnancy, particularly in the first trimester. Specific Background: In Iraq, and specifically Najaf, epidemiological data on TORCH prevalence among pregnant women remains scarce, despite the known perinatal risks. Knowledge Gap: The absence of localized seroprevalence data and gestational-age-based immunological profiles limits the development of targeted maternal-fetal health strategies. Aim: This study aimed to assess TORCH infection rates, identify immunoglobulin patterns (IgM and IgG), and compare seropositivity across pregnancy trimesters in Najaf. Results: Among 100 participants, 62% tested positive for TORCH infections, with 58.1% of those in the first trimester showing acute infections, mainly due to T. gondii and HSV. Later trimesters showed chronic infections dominated by CMV and Rubella, evidenced by IgG presence. Novelty: This is the first study in Najaf to report trimester-specific TORCH immunological dynamics, revealing a distinct shift from acute to chronic infection profiles. Implications: These findings highlight the necessity for early TORCH screening and ongoing antenatal surveillance in Iraq to minimize congenital complications and inform public health interventions.Highlight : Early Detection Critical – Most acute infections (58.1%) occur in the first trimester, requiring urgent screening and intervention. Pathogen Pattern Shifts – Toxoplasma and HSV dominate early infections, while CMV and Rubella persist chronically later. Public Health Need – Routine TORCH testing and hygiene education must be integrated into antenatal care programs. Abstract

General background: Egg traits are crucial indicators in poultry science due to their relevance to hatchability, chick survival, and consumer preferences. Specific background: While various factors influence egg quality, the impact of sexual maturity timing on external egg characteristics in Japanese quail remains underexplored. Knowledge gap: Limited studies have investigated how variations in the onset age of sexual maturity directly affect measurable external egg traits. Aims: This study aimed to assess the effects of early and late sexual maturity on external egg quality in Japanese quail. Results: Using 682 eggs categorized into four sexual maturity classes, we found that the age of sexual maturity significantly influenced egg weight, length, surface area, and volume, while body weight, egg breadth, and shape index remained unaffected. Novelty: The findings establish that earlier sexual maturity is associated with larger eggs, highlighting physiological advantages during early reproductive phases. Implications: These results offer insights for breeding strategies aiming to enhance egg production and quality by selecting optimal maturity ages, thus improving both economic outcomes and biological efficiency in quail production systems.Highlight : The age of sexual maturity significantly affects egg weight, length, surface area, and volume in Japanese quail. Delayed maturity results in lower egg mass and size, indicating suboptimal reproductive performance. Strong correlations between egg surface area and volume highlight key structural traits for selection programs. Abstract

General Background: Folk crafts are a vital component of Uzbekistan’s national heritage and an important sector for regional socio-economic development. Specific Background: In the Qashqadaryo region, there is a growing movement to integrate traditional handicrafts with modern digital technologies and intellectual property (IP) frameworks. Knowledge Gap: However, few studies have examined how digital tools like 3D modeling and IoT are being practically applied in crafts, and how artisans interact with patenting systems. Aims: This study investigates the synergetic modernization of folk crafts through digitalization and IP protection to enhance production efficiency, design innovation, and market competitiveness. Results: Field data, trend modeling, and correlation analysis reveal systemic barriers such as low digital literacy, limited IP awareness, and insufficient infrastructure. Nevertheless, emerging initiatives—such as regional innovation hubs and blockchain-based IP systems—demonstrate growing institutional support. Novelty: The paper introduces a holistic “synergistic approach” combining digital design, smart production, and legal safeguards, tailored to the cultural and economic context of Uzbek artisans. Implications: Findings support the creation of targeted policies and educational programs, positioning folk crafts within the digital economy and ensuring their sustainable, legally protected development in global markets.Highlight : Digital Integration: Introducing 3D modeling and IoT boosts production efficiency and design quality in traditional crafts.
