COUNS-EDU: The International Journal of Counseling and Education Electronic ISSN: 2548-3498 is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Indonesian Institute for Counseling, Education, and Therapy in Collaboration with the Indonesian Counselor Association. Abstract

Education is an important human activity, and a fundamental right of every human. There has been a continuous transformation of educational counseling methods and processes to improve them. However, research about the application of educational principles to long-distance counseling has not been available until now. This research aims to study the implementation of educational principles in the online counseling process with the Rasch model. The sample size of this study is 174 people, spread across Indonesia with varying demographics. The results of the study show that the application of educational principles in online counseling services significantly suppresses the problematic conditions of respondents. The study also examines how online counseling services serves as a quick help or first aid to problematic conditions experienced by clients. The implementation of the educational principles discussed in this study relates to the development of self-potential, self-control, personality development, independence development and development of self-intelligence and other skills.

Abstract

 The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between alexithymia and career decision -making self-efficacy among Tenth and Eleventh grade students in Muscat governorate. To achieve this purpose,  Alexithymia Scale (AS),and CDMSE Short Form were administered to a total sample of 556 students of Tenth and Eleventh grades ( (n = 278) males and (n = 278) females . Findings revealed that the level of alexithymia was less than the mean of items, while the level of CDMSE was more than the mean of items, as well as there was no significant correlational relationship between alexithymia and CDMSE. The findings also indicated that there were significant gender differences in alexithymia, while there were no significant gender differences in CDMSE. With regard to GPA, the findings revealed that there were no significant differences in alexithymia, while there were significant differences in CDMSE. Conclusion: It concludes that although there was no significant correlational relationship between alexithymia and career decision-making self-efficacy, alexithymia negatively affects individual’s decisions in life.

Abstract

Low athlete’s long jump performance is attributed to the unsystematic training approach. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effect of plyometric training on athlete performance. It was a quasi-experiment comprising of 32 athletes who were selected through purposive sampling. The instrument used in the long jump test is under the standard of the Indonesian Athletics Association (PASI), and the data analysis used a t-test. The results of the data analysis showed significant differences in athlete performance before and after plyometric training. This study recommends adjusting athletes’ long jump performance using Plyometric Exercises.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to analyze and interprete the previews studies about modification of implementation of group guidance service. The researcher was conducted this study using qualitative approach which involved case study’s strategy. According to those post graduate student’s findings, the researcher intended to find: (1) what were modifications that done, (2) how were they happened, (3) why were they happened, (4) how were the results, (5) how were the effectively of its effects, (6) how were the possibilities of its implementation in the future.  The findings of this study were the average score results of implementation of group guidance with modification has better score than the avarage score results in implementation of group guidance service without modification, Suggestion in developing learning discipline, Bibliotherapy in enhacing self-concept. Suggestion in developing learning discipline, Bibliotherapy in enhacing self-concept, Modifications in this study was conducted by Role Playing to improve self-adaptation, Verse of Holy Al-Qur’an to improve learning motivation, Audio Visual Media to improve self concept, Assertive Training to improve interpersonal communication, REBT eliminates affraid, Modeling to improve Self Efficacy, Reality Counseling to develop self-adaptation. Regarding to this, it is hope for Guidance and Counseling teachers/ Counselors to improve the quality of service with implementation of group guidance service through several modifications.

Abstract

Domestic violence is a long-standing phenomenon in society. Domestic violence impacts the physical and psychological, especially related to the psychological wellbeing of the victims who experience, witness and observe the domestic violence. The victims included children from parents who experienced domestic violence, namely children and adolescents. Based on this, the researcher designed a research instrument to identify the conditions of the psychological well-being of adolescents living with parents who experienced domestic violence. This instrument was tested with 30 respondents from the vocational high school Y students in Padang City. The results of the trial were analyzed using rasch models. The test results describe that this instrument is feasible to use. It is seen from the construct of this instrument to meet the requirements of things that must be measured, the results of the validity of the items there are 8 items considered not to be used. The reliability value of this instrument item is 0.89 and the reliability of the person is 0.91. These results show that this instrument is feasible to be used to measure the psychological well condition of being a teenager living with a domestic violence parent.
