Abstract

This article examines the theology of the cross as a paradigm for Christian life in facing the challenges of the postmodern era, characterized by the relativism of truth, individualism, and the penetration of prosperity theology. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach, examining various theological and academic sources to explore the relevance of the cross of Christ as the center of faith. The theology of the cross is first understood as a critique of postmodern relativism that rejects absolute truth, affirming the cross as the historical and existential foundation of truth. Second, the cross is understood as an ethic of solidarity and humility, inspiring people to be present for others in a spirit of sacrifice. Third, the cross serves as a foundation for interfaith dialogue in a pluralistic society, presenting the values of reconciliation, peace, and religious moderation. Fourth, the cross serves as a corrective to prosperity theology, which tends to absolutize material success, while also reaffirming faith rooted in love and sacrifice. The results show that the paradigm of the cross offers a relevant spiritual and ethical orientation for the church in building an authentic witness of faith amidst the postmodern current. Thus, the theology of the cross serves not only as a dogmatic framework but also as a practical paradigm that shapes a faithful, humble, and transformative Christian life

Abstract

Electoral democracy under oligarchic control is a phenomenon where the electoral process is influenced or dominated by a small group of individuals wielding significant economic or political power. This study aims to analyze the characteristics, impacts, and potential solutions for overcoming oligarchic control in electoral democracy, specifically in Southeast Aceh Regency. The findings reveal that electoral democracy in Southeast Aceh faces substantial challenges due to the strong influence of oligarchs, which can undermine the quality of democracy and increase public dissatisfaction. To address these challenges in the long term, implementing effective solutions can help foster a healthier and more robust electoral democracy in Southeast Aceh, enabling citizens to better exercise their political and economic rights. Therefore, concerted efforts are necessary to implement these solutions and enhance the overall quality of democracy in the region

Abstract

Self-confidence is a positive attitude that enables individuals to develop positive judgments toward themselves, their environment, and the situations they encounter. In reality, the level of self-confidence varies among individuals low, moderate, or high as experienced by several students of the Islamic Guidance and Counseling (BKI) program. Efforts to enhance self- confidence are aimed at fostering a positive mindset, both personally and socially, to cultivate BKI students who are confident, well integrated, and capable of effectively resolving problems. This study aims to examine the self-confidence of BKI students before taking the STIFIn test, to assess their self-confidence after taking the test, and to identify the role of the STIFIn test in enhancing their self-confidence. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with informants selected using the simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that: (1) Several BKI students initially exhibited low self-confidence, were uncertain of their abilities, faced difficulties in expressing opinions, and tended to feel inferior due to frequent self-comparisons with others; (2) The researcher applied the STIFIn Personality Test approach to help BKI students better understand themselves, including their strengths and weaknesses, and to focus on developing their strengths; (3) The STIFIn Personality Test played a role in enhancing the self-confidence of BKI students. Positive attitudes developed, such as greater self-awareness, an increased sense of self-worth, and a stronger focus on positive aspects. The forms of self-confidence improvement varied among students, including progress in learning, communication, and decision-making

Abstract

This study aims to describe self-harm behavior in late adolescents as a form of emotion- focused coping used to channel negative emotions. The research employed a qualitative design with a phenomenological approach to explore the subjective experiences of adolescents engaged in self-harm behavior. The subjects of this study were adolescents aged 18–22 years who continued to engage in self-harm, had not been diagnosed with personality disorders or other mental disorders, and engaged in self-harm with frequent occurrence based on DSM-5 criteria. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, guided observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that self-harm behavior among late adolescents is a response to emotional pressures arising from internal factors, such as academic stress and inner conflict, as well as external factors, including parental pressure and lack of emotional support from the social environment. Self-harm functions as a maladaptive coping mechanism to express and alleviate negative emotions that are difficult to articulate verbally (emotion-focused coping). The study concludes that parental and environmental support is crucial in providing an open space for late adolescents to express their emotions, along with psychological interventions, such as regulation therapy, to help adolescents address self-harm behavior and develop adaptive coping mechanisms

Abstract

The interior of a space plays a significant role in shaping the subjective well-being of its occupants, with lighting and color serving as key elements that influence comfort, mood, and functional efficiency. Hajj dormitories, as temporary accommodations for pilgrims and visitors, often suffer from inadequate lighting and color schemes that fail to support comfort, potentially diminishing the overall quality of the occupants' experience. This study analyzes visitor preferences for lighting and color in Hajj dormitory bedrooms and their impact on subjective well-being. Through systematic observation and analysis, the research identifies how lighting and color choices affect users’ psychological responses. The findings reveal that dim or non-adjustable lighting reduces comfort and usability, while overly vibrant or monotonous color schemes disrupt emotional balance, creating an unpleasant atmosphere. As a solution, this study recommends the implementation of adaptive lighting systems that cater to users’ varying needs, along with a more calming and positive color palette. By applying the principles of Positive Design, Hajj dormitories can be redesigned to enhance both the physical and psychological well-being of their occupants. These findings can also be applied to other communal living spaces to improve overall comfort and user experience

Abstract

School library management is the process of optimizing human, material, and budget contributions to achieve library goals. School libraries are still experiencing various obstacles, so they cannot run as they should. The obstacle comes from two aspects. The School Library consists of a collection of textbooks or readings that can support the learning process. The purpose of the library is to increase interest and reading habits. However, unlike libraries in general, school libraries have the main purpose of reading to learn or gain insight in the field of science. In the process of borrowing books at the library of SMP Negeri 15 Ambon, borrowers record borrowing data in a special notebook. The borrowing process that is now implemented poses several problems. Recording borrowing data by handwriting on a book is quite time- consuming, especially when there is a surge in the number of borrowers. In accordance with the obstacles experienced, the need for a technological innovation service to support the library management process. The implementation of the library application service of SMP Negeri 15 Ambon has succeeded in increasing efficiency in the process of borrowing and returning books. The integration also strengthens the system of book return control and automatic recording of late fines. The importance of digital services in libraries is a new breakthrough to improve performance efficiency in library management
