Abstract

The objective of this study were determining the effects of natural zeolite from Wonosari on the activites of Sulfate Reducing Bacteria in Mangan (Mn) sedimentation of continous culture scale, and identifying the biofilm character of Sulfate Reducing Bacteria on consortium activites on natural zeolite using continous culture scale. The first studies was activation of zeolites, followed by testing the activity of consortium activities of Sulfate Reduction Bacteria in continuous culture scales; and biofilm characterization of Sulfate Reducing Bacteria consortium. The consortium of Sulfate Reducing Bacteria derived from goat feces. The size of zeo natural zeolites used in the consortium activity test of  Sulfate Reducing Bacteria in Mangan sedimentation was 0.8 to 1.2 cm. The results showed that the consortium of Sulfate Reducing Bacteria in the bioreactor with the addition of zeolite had an activity that was more effective than the bioreactor without the addition of zeolite, where the pH was increased to pH 6.9; Mangan sedimentation was 61,16%, and the higher MPN index. Zeolite in a bioreactor with biofilm formation in 5th days and 9th days seems that there were biofilm consortium of Sulfate Reducing Bacteria growing attached to the surface of the zeolite.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to obtain a method of color standardization which is a consistent assessment of the color formed by secang natural dye, so it can be used as a reference color of natural dyes of batik.Standardization steps of natural dyes included taxonomic examination, preparation of secang dye by extraction, standardization process by spectroscopic measurement, with “rapid” dye as standard, application on batik process including batik pattern making and wax application on batik  and batik coloring process with secang dye. Data was analized by absorbance vs wavelength obtained from red color formed by secang dye. The results showed that the maximum absorption wavelength of the standard red color was obtained at 450.20 nm. This value is used as the standard red color measurement

Abstract

This study was aimed at synthesizing biodiesel of nyamplung oil through esterification and transesterification process using ozonation and ultrasonic waves assist. The ozonation was done for 30 minutes, while the transesterification reaction was aided by ultrasonic wave frequency variation 28 and 35 kHz for 30 minutes. The results show that the use of ultrasonic waves in frequency of 35 kHz in the transesterification reaction to the ozonized nyamplung oil from esterification reaction produced biodiesel on the standards of Indonesian biodiesel. The biodiesel product in this study has 0.70 mgKOH/g biodiesel acid value, iodine number 50.34 g I2/100 g, the flash point of 122.4°C, cetana numbers of 102.5, density of 0.9088 g/cm3, and a viscosity of 9.5 cSt

Abstract

The purpose of this study was determined the antibacterial activity on ethanol extract of temukunci (Boesenbergia pandurata Roxb) against Streptococcus mutans bacteria. The subject of this research was the ethanol extract of temukunci. The object of this study was the antibacterial activity of the ethanol extract of temukunci. The research method was disk difussion method by Kirby-Bauer test. The positive control that  used was chloramphenicol. The concentration variations were 0.5 sampai 500 µg/ml. The results show that the ethanol extract of temukunci can inhibit the growth of Streptococcus mutans bacteria. Maximum concentration that can inhibit the growth of Streptococcus mutans bacteria is at concentration 50 µg/ml.

Abstract

This study was aimed at evaluating radiation field verification in breast cancer using Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy Technique (IMRT) on different fractions. The implementation of IMRT required 3 Dimensional verification processes to ensure the accuracy of the coordinates of the center caused by the shift. To analyze the value of the shift between Treatment Planning and Radiation Treatment, this research was conducted at the Department of Radiotherapy of Siloam TB Simatupang Hospital in February - June of 2017. The design of this study was quantitative descriptive by using 15 samples of breast cancer patients. The data were observed in the form of couch coordinate values X, Y, Z. The verification results using Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) then were analyzed using statistical test of Non Parametric Wilcoxon Test. The research instruments used were LINAC Varian Trilogy and verification tools On Board Imager CBCT. The result shows that longitudinal couch (coordinate Y) indicated significant differences from the Treatment Planning using Radiation Treatment. While on the lateral couch (X coordinates) and Vertical (coordinate Z) has no significant difference. From the study result, the average value of the verification has exceeded the tolerance standard at coordinate Y with value 0.2cm.

Abstract

This study was aimed at determining the activity of Marsh Fleabane leaves extract against Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae mortality. Marsh Fleabane leaves extract was obtained using ethanol solvent. After obtaining the viscous extract, the extract was fractionated with solvent n-hexan and ethyl acetate. The ability of this biolarvaside was determined by LC50 value and reinforced by identifying of active compound content. This biolarvaside test was conducted on Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae with variation of extract concentration 50, 100, 250, 500, and 1000 ppm during 24 hours observation. Identification of compound content was done by testing the sample with GC-MS analysis. The results show that the yield of ethyl acetate extract equal to 1.86%. The LC value of this ethyl acetate extract was 105.79 ppm. The obtained LC50 values including active biolarvacidal groups and positive controls using abate had LC100 values at 100 ppm concentrations. Meanwhile, the LC50 value on granules using marsh Fleabane leaves extract content was obtained at 96.34ppm and LC90 was 905.1 ppm. The ability of active biolarvaside is corroborated by GC-MS analysis results indicating that the biolarvacid content of active compounds contained in ethyl acetate extract expected as quinic acid

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of mole ratio variation and mole ratio which produce maximum yield. Synthesis of 2-(4’-methoxybenzylidene)cyclohexanone was done through Claissen Schmidt condensation with NaOH as catalyst. Variation of 4-methoxybenzaldehyde:cyclohexanone mole ratio were 1:1, 1:2, 1:4, 1:6, and 1:8. 2-(4’-methoxybenzylidene)cyclohexanone could be synthezied using MAOS methods for 120 seconds. Synthesis product was identified by TLC, TLC scan, spectroscopy IR, and spectroscopy 1H NMR. The result of this research showed that the variation of 4-methoxybenzaldehyde:cyclohexanone mole ratio had an effect on the synthesis of 2-(4’-methoxybenzylidene)cyclohexanone. It was proven by the different of yields which have been produced. Variation of  4-methoxybenzaldehyde:cyclohexanone mole ratio 1:1, 1:2, 1:4, 1:6, and 1:8 produced 2-(4’-methoxybenzylidene)cyclohexanone 0%; 59.272%; 64.122%; 46.782%; and 45.555% in yields respectively. The mole ratio of 4-methoxy-benzaldehyde:cyclohexanone which gives the maximum yield is 1:4.
