Abstract

This study was aimed to identify how the main character is depicted and identify the characteristics presented by Nathaniel Hawthrone in the short story Young Goodman Brown. This research used a qualitative descriptive method to analyze the data. The primary data were the quotes and the sentences that describe the characters and obsession characteristics of the main characters in Young Goodman Brown’s short story. The authors analyzed several trusted journals, articles, and internet sources to conduct a more detailed analysis. The results show that the author of this short story takes the theme of religion, mystery, personal stories and implies moral education. The protagonist, Goodman Brown, is a man who tries to find his way in life. The analysis of this short story finds Young Goodman Brown’s obsession with getting to know the demonic sect. Based on the analysis of the personality structure consisting of the id, ego, and superego. The character has a balance of personality. The analysis of the clarification of emotions shows that the main characters are doubt, fear, anger, sadness, and disappointment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan karateristik, proses dan makna dibalik motif batik Nitik khas Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara kualitatif studi literatur dan penafsiran terhadap subjek yaitu tradisi Nitik. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode observasi dan wawancara ahli dan seniman batik yang terdapat di Yogyakarta sebagai fenomena dalam seni tradisi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara interpretasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan paparan proses tradisi nitik, karakteristik khas batik Nitik adalah tidak adanya proses pembuatan pola pada batik Nitik beserta makna filosofinya. Beberapa contoh filosofi di balik makna motif batik Nitik antara lain motif Dewi Rengganis yang mencerminkan sifat kecantikan, keluwesan, dan ketangkasan pemimpin putri; motif Jaya Kirana yang bermakna kewenangan yang termashur; serta motif Kuncup Kanthil yang erat hubungannya dengan makna ketuhanan. Pada saat ini 60 motif batik Nitik telah berhasil diidentifikasi dengan variasi motif tumbuhan. Upaya pelestarian tradisi Nitik yang dilakukan oleh pengrajin, penggiat batik, dan masyarakat daerah Trimulyo digiatkan dengan tujuan menghasilkan motif nitik terkini dan proses regenerasi sebagai upaya pelestarian budaya membatik untuk generasi muda. Nitik tradition: Characteristics, process, and meaning behind the motif of Nitik Batik YogyakartaThis study aimed to explain the characteristics, processes, and meanings behind the motif of Nitik batik, Yogyakarta. This research was conducted qualitatively by studying literature and interpretation of the subject. The data collection was carried out through observation and interviews with experts and batik artists in Yogyakarta. The data analysis was carried out through interpretation. The research results show that the exposure to the nitik tradition process, a distinctive characteristic of Nitik batik, is no pattern-making process in nitik batik and its philosophical meaning. Some examples of the philosophy behind the meaning of the nitik batik motif include the Dewi Rengganis motif, which reflects the beauty, flexibility, and agility of female leaders; the Jaya Kirana motif, which means the famous authority; and the Kuncup Kanthil motif, which is closely related to the meaning of divinity. At this time, 60 nitik batik motifs have been identified with various plant motifs. Efforts to preserve the Nitik tradition carried out by artisans, batik activists, and the people of the Trimulyo area are intensified to produce the latest nitik motifs and the regeneration process to preserve batik culture for the younger generation.

Abstract

enelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur ketercapaian dari implementasi nilai pendidikan karakter melalui Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan pada mahasiswa di kehidupan sehari-harinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analitik. Data yang digunakan berupa data kuantitatif dari 18 responden mahasiswa PGSD UPI Cibiru. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode survei dan kemudian dianalisa secara deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa teori dan praktek perkuliahan kewarganegaraan sudah ditempuh dan dikuasai oleh mahasiswa akan tetapi pengimplementasian nilai-nilai karakter belum diterapkan secara maksimal pada kehidupan sehari-hari mahasiswa. Para mahasiswa menilai penting sekali pendidikan karakter untuk diberikan pada jenjang yang diampunya. Dengan demikian, orientasi Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan dalam proses pendidikan karakter bagi mahasiswa ini penting untuk selalu ditanamkan dan diberikan pengarahan. Tujuan ini dapat dicapai jika terjadi bentuk kerja sama antara pemerintah, lembaga pendidikan dan mahasiswa itu sendiri. The implementation of character education through citizenship education at the university levelThis study aimed to measure the achievement of the implementation of character education values through Citizenship Education for students in their daily lives. This research used the descriptive-analytical method. The data used in quantitative data were from 18 students studying in the primary teacher education program. The data were collected through the survey method and then analyzed descriptively. The research results show that the theory and practice of civics lectures have been taken and mastered by students, but the implementation of character values has not been maximally applied in students’ daily lives. The students considered that character education was crucial to their level. Thus, the orientation of Citizenship Education in the character education process for students is essential always to be instilled and given direction. This goal can be achieved if there is a form of cooperation between the government, educational institutions, and the students themselves.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pemerolehan bahasa pertama dengan fokus pada tataran fonologi pada anak perempuan 2,5 tahun. Penelitian ini berupa penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Waktu penelitian selama 4 bulan yakni sejak bulan Februari 2021 hingga bulan Juni 2021 dengan subjek penelitian ialah anak perempuan yang berusia 2,5 tahun. Peneliti menggunakan teknik simak libat cakap dalam mengumpulkan data serta metode wawancara terhadap orangtua anak. Teknik simak libat cakap dilakukan dengan cara peneliti menyimak sekaligus ikut berpartisipasi dalam pembicaraan dengan objek penelitian. Teknik analisis menggunakan model interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa subjek menguasai 7 fonem vokal bahasa Jawa yang terdiri dari fonem /i/, /e/, /a/, /ǝ/, /u/, /o/, dan /Ɔ/ dan 13 fonem konsonan yakni /p/, /b/, /m/, /w/, /t/, /d/, /n/, /l/, /s/, /y/, /k/, /g/, serta /ʔ/. Sementara belum menguasa 7 fonem yakni /ñ/, /ḍ/, /g/, /j/, /c/, /ṭ/, serta fonem /r/. berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat diketahui bahwa secara umum, anak perempuan usia 2,5 tahun sudah cukup terampil menguasai fonem-fonem bahasa Jawa.Acquisition of Javanese phonology in children aged 2.5 years: A psycholinguistic studyThe acquisition of Javanese Language Phonology in Children Age 2.5 Years: A Psycholinguistic Study. This study aimed to describe the acquisition of the first language phonological level of 2.5-year-old girls. This research was a descriptive qualitative approach. The research was conducted in 4 months, from February 2021 to June 2021, with the research subject being a 2.5-year-old girl. The researcher used the listening-engagement technique in collecting data and interviewing the child’s parents. The conversational engagement listening technique was carried out by listening and participating in the conversation with the research object. The analysis technique uses an interactive model. The results showed that the subject mastered 7 Javanese vowel phonemes consisting of phonemes /i/, /e/, /a/, /ǝ/, /u/, /o/, and /Ɔ/ and 13 consonant phonemes namely /p /, /b/, /m/, /w/, /t/, /d/, /n/, /l/, /s/, /y/, /k/, /g/, and /ʔ/. While she had not mastered 7 phonemes, namely /ñ/, /ḍ/, /g/, /j/, /c/, /ṭ/, /r/. Based on the results of this study, it concluded that the girl aged 2.5 years is quite skilled at mastering Javanese phonemes

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk perlawanan perempuan yang tersirat pada lirik lagu paduan suara Dialita. Data penelitian berupa satuan lingual berupa kata, frasa, klausa di dalam teks-teks lagu. Sumber data penelitian berupa lagu dari album dari Paduan Suara Dialita yang berjudul “Dunia Milik Kita” (10 lagu) dan “Salam Harapan” (12 lagu). Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif guna menganalisa isi lagu dari kedua album tersebut. Dari hasil kajian, banyak lirik menggambarkan kisah sejarah korban penyitas tahun 1965 dari sudut pandang perempuan sebagai tahanan politik. Pengungkapan harapan para perempuan dan usaha memperbaiki citra buruk perempuan bentukan propaganda Orde baru sebagai perempuan brutal dan dikaitkan dengan Partai Komunis Indonesia (PKI). Lirik lagu ini juga mengungkapkan buah pikir dan suara hati perempuan melalui tulisan sebagai bentuk perlawanan baru yang dapat dilakukan oleh perempuan. Lagu-lagu itu membantu perempuan bertahan di masa-masa sulit di era tersebut. Meskipun lirik lagu membahas tentang perempuan, tokoh laki-laki tetap dihadirkan namun masih dari sudut pandang perempuan. The forms of women’s resistance through writing in Dunia Milik Kita and Salam Harapan albumsThis study aimed to describe the form of women’s resistance implied in the lyrics of the Dialita choir song. The research data were in the form of lingual units in words, phrases, clauses in song texts. The data sources are songs from the album of the Dialita Choir entitled “Dunia Milik Kita” (10 songs) and “Salam Harapan” (12 songs). The contents of the songs from the two albums were then analyzed descriptively. From the study, most of the lyrics describe the historical story of 1965 survivors from the perspective of women as political prisoners. They express women’s hopes and efforts to improve the wrong image of women formed by the New Order propaganda as brutal women and associated with the Indonesian Communist Party. The lyrics of this song also express the thoughts and voices of women’s hearts through writing as a new form of resistance that women can do. The songs helped women survive through difficult times of the era. Even though the song lyrics talk about women, the male characters are still presented from a woman’s point of view.
