Abstract

This article examined how Indonesian diplomacy has taken place in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Friction and armed clashes between Palestinian fighters and the Israeli military still occur and can even befall Palestinian civilians. Throught the history of Indonesia's closeness with Palestine, Indonesia is one of the countries actively calling for Palestinian independence with a two-state solution. The scientific relationship between Palestinian scholars and Indonesian students studying in Egypt made Palestine one of the countries that recognized Indonesia's independence with Egypt. Relations between the two countries continue today. This article is described using conflict resolution theory. Furthermore, the authors find the findings of Indonesia's diplomacy in resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Indonesia plays an active role through its role as a nonpermanent member of the UN Security Council. Even Indonesia opposed US President Donald Trump's policy on Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel and moves its embassy to Jerusalem. It is proven that Indonesia plays the role of co-sponsor, facilitator, mediator, participator, initiator, actor, motivator and justifier in helping resolve the IsraeliPalestinian conflict.

Abstract

The phenomenon of terrorism which is the subject of world discussion today, namely ISIS has attracted an Egyptian writer to be illustrated in a novel entitled Habībī Dā‘isyī. This novel tells the story of the struggle of a woman and her family in facing terror committed by ISIS. Laila was involved in and joined ISIS along with several other Egyptian women. At that time she felt ignored and pressured by her own family. The novel is examined and examined through Gramsci's Hegemony theory related to intellectual-moral leadership and its dominance to find out various acts of terror being excercised, in addition to how to hegemony Egyptian society, which is the setting and character of this novel. The analysis of the novel shows that ISIS is a terrorist organization which inculcates the ideology of 'jihad' to attract public sympathizers. ISIS uses violence in its actions to dominate and cause many casualties. In addition to these two things, there is an important figure, namely the leader who calls himself as khalīfah which compiles everything, therefore ISIS is known throughout the world today. Abstract

The term anti-Shi'a is prejudice or hatred towards Shiite Muslims based on their religion and heritage. Anti-Shi'a efforts portray Shia as dangerous teachings by linking the Iraq and Syria conflicts, thus forcing some religious groups and the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) to issue heretical fatwas for Shi'ite teachings. How does anti-Shi'a propaganda manifest in describing Shi'ism? This paper describes the plot and context of anti-Shi'a in Indonesia. The anti-Shi'a container known as the National Anti-Shi'a Alliance (ANNAS) has become a new medium in campaigning for Shiite heresy. The sentiment of this movement adds a new list of Islamic boxes by giving birth to exclusive Islam. The participation of extremist, Salafi and conservative groups in the Shia stigmatization resulted in sentiments and propaganda towards Shia teachings.

Abstract

The condition of Palestine which has been occupied by Israel for a long time and has yet to be resolved, encourages poets to give birth to literary works in which echoed the suffering experienced by the Palestinian people. One of them is the poem of Maḥmūd Darwīsy entitled "Qaṣīdatu Al-Arḍi" in anthology Al-Aʻmālu Al-Kāmilatu. The poem reflects the message of revealing encouragement for the community in fighting for the Palestinian homeland and bringing up Palestinian nationalism. Therefore, the aim of this study is to uncover the meaning of this poem in relation to defending the Palestinian territories and uniting the nationalism of the people. The theory used in this research is the semiotic theory, which is a discipline that views the poem "Qaṣīdatu Al-Arḍi" in anthology Al-Aʻmālu Al-Kāmilatu as a semiotic marker where the meaning (signified) requires deeper analysis. Methodologically, this study uses the Michael Riffaterre semiotic model, a method that reveals the meaning of poetry technically using indirect expressions, heuristic readings, and hermeneutic readings. The results of this study found that this poem implies the struggle of the Palestinian people in defending their homeland where the action was manifested in large-scale demonstrations but unfortunately it did not even have any impact. Therefore, the only effective way to do it is by telling it through literary works such as in the title "Qaṣīdatu Al-Arḍi" in the anthology of AlAʻmālu Al-Kāmilatu. The work is a reflection of the suffering of the Palestinian people represented by the author, Maḥmūd Darwīsy, a Palestinian writer.
