Abstract

Failure to communicate is one of the root causes of the most common causes of patient safety incidents. Communication determining success in helping to resolve the patient's health problems. Performance communication services medical or nonmedical personnel in the process of medical treatment is part of a health communication. Health communication is a communication process that involves health messages, elements or participant communication. Semarang Sultan Agung Islamic Hospital is a private hospital grade B. The hospital is able to provide services of medical specialists and subspecialists limited. The purpose of this study was to determine the communication performance of medical and non medical services in the process of medical treatment RSI Sultan Agung Semarang. The theory of reputation used to determine how performance should be owned by a health-care facility, which especially its RSI Sultan Agung Semarang as research objects. The population used is the patient who is in Islam Sultan Agung Hospital Semarang with criteria outpatients from a specialist, and already control at least 3 times, which in total amounted to 97 people. Research shows the majority of respondents expressed satisfaction with the communication performance of medical and non medical services RSI Sultan Agung. However, there are also consumers RSI Sultan Agung Semarang who felt unserved optimal communication of medical or non-medical RSI Sultan Agung Semarang. The study then provides suggestions for RSI Sultan Agung Semarang can further improve the performance of the communication performance of medical and non medical personnel to give more comfort to patients and consumers as a whole.

Abstract

Advertising is one of the most efffective way to inform audience about the products. Olx Indonesia television advertising exposure potentially related to desire of transacting in Olx.co.id. Intensity of peer group communication about transacting in Olx.co.id also potentially related to desire of transacting in Olx.co.id. This study aims to determine the correlation of Olx Indonesia television advertising exposure and intensity of peer group communication with desire of transacting in Olx.co.id. The rational used is the Advertisig Exposure Theory and How peer group affect consumer behaviour. This type of research is explanatory research, using technique of Non-probability sampling with accidental sampling method to determine the sample. The total sample of 100 respondent who have seen Olx Indonesia television advertising aged 15 – 25 years old in the city of Semarang. Analysis of the data used is Pearson correlation SPSS. The first hypothesis test results show that the variable Olx Indonesia television advertising exposure (X1) is not correlated to desire of transacting in Olx.co.id (Y) and showed no significant results, with the result Sig/significance worth 0.588 or greater than 0,05. The second hypothesis test showed intensity of peer group communication (X2) is correlated to desire of transacting in Olx.co.id (Y), with the result Sig/significance worth 0.002 or less than 0.05. Advice can be given is OLX Indonesia can do another promotion as using Social Media to reach audience directly, especially teenagers, considering direct communication has more positive impact to desire of transacting in Olx.co.id.

Abstract

Kelompok LGBT dianggap sebagai masalah dan hal negatif yang perlu diselesaikan. Dalam hal ini masyarakat perlu mengetahui bahwa masing-masing pengertian dari Lesbian, Guy, Biseksual, dan Transgender itu berbeda. Jika Lesbian, Guy, dan Biseksual dianggap sebagai sesuatu yang menyimpang, maka berbeda dengan para transgender/transeksual. Para transgender/transeksual merupakan individu yang melakukan proses coming out dalam pencarian jati dirinya. Hal ini berkaitan dengan identitas seksual dan identitas gender seseorang. Jika seseorang terlahir dengan kondisi biologis laki-laki maka ia dapat disebut identitas seksualnya laki-laki namun belum tentu ia memiliki identitas gender laki-laki, begitupun sebaliknya. Inilah yang menjadi fokus peneliti dalam tahapan keterbukaan diri para transgender/transeksual terhadap lingkungan sosialnya. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan metode fenomenologi. Pendekatan fenomenologi merupakan tradisi penelitian kualitatif yang berakar pada filosofi dan psikologi, dan berfokus pada pengalaman hidup manusia (sosiologi). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran tentang konsep diri, kepribadian, dan proses komunikasi dalam tahapan keterbukaan diri seorang transgender/transeksual dalam lingkungan sosial yang mengalami perubahan dari FtM (Female to Male) maupun MtF (Male to Female). Perbedaan dalam diri transgender/transeksual sangat mempengaruhi dalam pembentukan konsep diri dan tahapan keterbukaan diri mereka terhadap lingkungan sosial. Transgender/transeksual FtM (Female to Male) mampu membangun konsep diri secara utuh yang dibangunnya secara konsisten. Namun ia mengalami hambatan dalam proses keterbukaan diri dengan orang lain. Transgender/transeksual FtM (Female to Male) hanya mampu membangun komunikasi dengan gender perempuan dan mengabaikan gender laki-laki. Ia tidak bisa membangun kedekatan dengan gender laki-laki (male). Berbeda dengan Transgender/transeksual MtF (Male to Female) yang memiliki hambatan dalam membangun konsep dirinya karena stigma negatif yang terbangun dalam masyarakat terhadap mereka seperti julukan waria atau banci. Namun para transgender/transeksual MtF (Male to Female) justru mampu melalui tahapan keterbukaan diri terhadap lingkungannya secara konsisten. Mereka cenderung terbuka dan mudah membangun komunikasi dengan orang yang baru dikenal. Transgender/transeksual mampu membangun keterbukaan diri dan menjalin hubungan kedekatan di lingkungan sosial mereka sendiri yaitu keluarga dan teman dekat saja

Abstract

The amounts of advertising spending and rising intensity of Tokopedia advertising on television lead to rise the probability of mass getting exposed by Tokopedia advertising. This causing the emersion of mass behavior to following the advertising message from the television ads to access on Tokopedia.com. But the advertisement is not the only reason for people accessing Tokopedia website, there is another factor such as the persuasive exposure from reference group. The purpose of this research is to knowing the exposure influence of Tokopedia advertisement and persuasive exposure reference group towards the behavior of accessing online shop Tokopedia.com. Theory used in this research is the Advertising Exposure Model Theory. The Type of this research is explanatory research. This research using non-random and accidental sample collecting method, with total 50 sample of respondent. Testing instrument used for testing the hypothesis is simple linear statistic regression test. In this linear regression analytic, the classic assumption testing that become the requirements for the regression testing can be procced as not fulfilled, so the analysis is downgraded become the correlation analysis with using the Pearson correlation analysis. The Hypothesis test showed the significant value of advertising exposure variable by 0,389, and 0,217 for the significant value of persuasive exposure reference group variable. All the significant values are lower than α (0,05), so the both variable are not connected to the behavior of accessing the Tokopedia Online Shop website, Tokopedia.com. The conclusion of this research is for creating some advices to Tokopedia to lower the advertisements on television and change into other marketing strategy to bring mass for accessing the Tokopedia Online Shop.

Abstract

Film as one of mass media is capable to distribute ideological messages toward audience. Therefore, film is often utilized in constructing sexuality and lesbianism issues. ‘Blue Is The Warmest Color’ produced by French Cinema presents sexuality issues which related to lesbian sexual behavior in a slightly different viewpoint from previous productions, as Adèle’s image stands for. This study aims to find lesbian values domination depicted by the representation of Adèle inBlue Is The Warmest Color’. This study uses descriptive qualitative method, along with ‘The Codes of Television’ analysis technique found by John Fiske. The theories used for this study consist of Representation in Film, Sexual Behavior, and Sex in Lesbian Culture. The analysis shows number of results, those are: 1) Based on constructionist approach, facial expression shot functions as ‘sign’ which interpretated according particular sexuality concepts, resulting ‘the mean. 2) Lesbian values domination can be seen trough the body of Adele which disassociate from heteronormativity concept, the mutual pleasure with Emma, the sexual behavior freedom in public means the freedom of heterosexual ritual. 3) Adele’sexual behavior shows her sexual fluidity. 4) Sexual behavior nowadays is not always related to sex and gender binarity

Abstract

Movie as a form of mass media has the capability to deliver a message to its audiences. Movie become an exact alternative to picture child sexuality. Tomboy is a movie that tries to present child sexuality issue which underrepresented, the story of LGBTQ child living in a conservative neighborhood. So far, LGBTQ child issue considered to be very taboo in society so not much discussed in various domains including movie. The lack of public understanding about LGBTQ child brings out negative speculation about that and finally give an effect of improper handling in the cases of child sexuality. This study aims to describe about LGBTQ children narration in Tomboy movie, using descriptive qualitative method with narrative analysis. This research used, Perspective in Homosexual Theory, Queer Theory, Children Film and Homosexual Theory, Narrative Theory and Film Narrative Analysis. The study found how LGBTQ child narrated in a movie. The findings were compiled in a few points: 1) Child in this movie narrated in the style of storytelling that flows properly as if everyday life with a progressive plot. 2) Child in this movie narrated has LGBTQ tendency (tomboy and lesbian tendency). 3) Child in this movie narrated has LGBTQ tendency because of her own desire not because of another factor. The idea is in line with homosexual theory perspective that claim in some cases, LGBTQ child has discomfort gender roles based on sex as he or she get from birth. 4) Child in this movie narrated performs some efforts and struggle to become a perfect boy. 5) Child in this movie narrated must experience some conflicts because she lives in a conservative neighborhood. 6) Child performativity in this movie does not create a new different gender category, but rather mimics the original which is boy. 7) Child in this movie narrated in the style of art cinema narration. The style provide space for the audience to better appreciate the atmosphere in the ongoing events because the duration of the scene is made longer. And because the style is based on art, the camera technique can be neatly framed the character detail expression and gesture in an event. 8) The power of narration lies in the expression of the main character. Close-up and medium close-up shot types in almost every scene help to potray it.

Abstract

The research is based on the phenomenon occurred, ie an increase in the number of tourists significantly in 2011 to 2014 to the area attractions Tirta Beach Samudra.Permasalahan this study is how the Strategic Marketing Communications Department of Tourism and Culture District of Jepara in Increasing Number of Visitors Tirta Samudra Beach , This study aims to determine the marketing communication strategy that used the Department of Tourism and Cultural district of Jepara in increasing the number of visitors Tirta Samudra Beach in Jepara. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative case study method in the marketing communication strategy of Tourism and Culture to Tirta Samudra Beach. Data collection techniques used were interviews with research subjects and informants as well as documentation from the archives of the Department of Tourism and Cultural district of Jepara. Based on the results of research and discussion as well as using data analysis techniques using pairing pattern of the theory that predicted the pattern found in lapanganyaitu with the object of research is the communication strategy Department of Tourism and Cultural district of Jepara in increasing the number of visitors Turkish Tirta Samudra, it can be concluded that 1) Communicating program or a new thing in a variety of attractions as a form of publicity and promotion. 2) Establish communication with internal and external public. 3) Increase the events of Tourism and Cultural district of Jepara. 4) Promotion through media publications; internet, outdoor media, sales trip dll..5) Establish communication with mass media and the press in order to establish a good relationship.

Abstract

Families have many of the functions, one of them is The Child Socialization Role which teaches children to be sociable and adapt to its environment. The achievement of independence to someone especially boys is one of the success indicators of parents who run the family functions as The Child Socialization Role. But this process will experience the difference when the family through divorce. Parental divorce giving effect directly to children through numbers, the phenomenon, and stereotype in the community This research aims to knowing the process of the establishment of independence in decision-making of boy in divorced families. Chosen boys in this research is driven by a phenomenon in the community who hinted that a boy who came from families divorced having bad behavior, not thought long and not skilled in making a decision as one indicator of self-reliance. This research will be examined by using qualitative methods and phenomenology analysis. Theory as well as the concept that used on this research are, The Roles Theory, Relational Dialectics Theory, Nurturing and Control Theory, Verbal Communication and Nonverbal Communication Theory, as well as the concept of Communication Familiar Intercourse (Family Communication). To research is found that relationship created between the parent who lived together own partnership in the relation of a son and parents.When their relationship stay go well after the divorce, there are the process of adapting not return and can encourage them contribute in form a connection with a positive image of which will affect children setting the future. The cycle of development relations contributed on a communication a family of informants after the divorce, this is shown via relationship several informants that flourish with the openness and informants other that does not develop after the divorce. This research is also found that the role of extended family like a grandfather, uncle, and bude is very influence, it stimulate them to make a good relations between the boy and his parents. Good communication between the parents who lived together and the boy will form trust that can make a boy can take his decision by himself as one of independence indicator. Independence that created in someone can be realized through decision-making. Not only communication that can make this success but also the role and the nurturing patterns of parents who used. This research also expresses that family members can have more than one roles after divorce, it is happens not only in parents roles but also the boys. The double role can support the sense of responsibility and maturity of boys, both in the emotion, behavior and thought. The difference of nurturing pattern can be happened because of the situation, it will driving maturity and independence through decision-making in themself who came from divorced families.

Abstract

Islam provides an alternative during the process of finding a life partner called as ta’aruf. Ta’aruf couple have their own uniqueness since they directly go through personal phase. As their relations developed, negotiation regarding gender role established until they enter marriage phase. The occurrence of domestic violence against woman is result of failed negotiation of gender role. Difficult depiction to understand each other in the process of ta’aruf communication would led to household problems, thus the role position between husband and wife needs to be negotiated to minimalize the so-called role disparity. This research aimed to understand the negotiation process of gender role toward the development of relation in married couple through ta’aruf process. Using phenomenology approach, this research refers to the interpretive paradigm. The research conducted using Knapp’s Relationship Model, Relational Dialectics theory, Gender Role theory, and theory of Marriage. The result of this research showed that the pattern of negotiation process through ta’aruf process could be distinguished into three, namely indirect communication using medium involving peer-group, long-distance communication accompanied by medium which background backs by power relations to perform religious justification between religious figure and parent, and direct communication using medium related with interest of parent refers to economic and religious reasons. When it enters marriage phase, conflict that usual appear due to lack of proximity emotional and trust. In the process of adapting marriage, the husband better understand the partner’s desire in the division of domestic duties which raises the role of the presence of equality by applying strategy implementing collaborative strategies style to find win win solution. However, in households ta'aruf couples who do face to face communication distance found their male dominance in limiting interaction with the outside so that can be categorized as the negotiation process unbalanced role. In contrast with the couple who perform direct communication through intermediaries, marital conflicts that arise due to the lack of wife’s trust to the husband that elicits jealousy. This can be overcome with strategies for choosing the right time to talk about the problems experienced by the wife.
