Abstract

The emergence of the phenomenon of the use of social media Instagram, which is used as a suggestion to make self-disclosure. Self-disclosure includes things that include the realm of user privacy. This can pose a variety of risks that can occur to Instagram users. This research aims to reveal and understand how a person does privacy management on his Instagram account by using qualitative research methods. This research refers to interpretive paradigms with phenomenological approaches. The data collection technique used in this study is indepth interview, with the number of informants as many as 5 people. The theory used in this research is Communication Privacy Management Theory put forward by Sandra Petronio. The results of this study revealed that users use Instagram to create impressions, interests, relationships and build their image. In addition, users also have different restrictions on information regarding their privacy. Through communication privacy management theory also found that there are rules criteria used by Instagram users to consider when to disclose information through Instagram. Cultural criteria such as customs, norms, and religious values that exist in the user, gender criteria in the form of gender expression and clothing, motivation criteria in the form of encouragement and feeling of pleasure, context criteria in the form of positiveness, not offensive to others, and environmental conditions, risk criteria - benefits that is a comparison between the amount of profit or loss that the user will get after making disclosure. In this study, the way that users manage their Instagram privacy is by deciding not to disclose their privacy at all on Instagram or creating a second Instagram account devoted to disclosing privacy. The second account used is only shared by the people closest to them and trusted by the user who makes it more free to express their privacy.

Abstract

National Children's Day is the day the rights of Indonesian children are fulfilled, both for children who are in Indonesia and for children who are outside Indonesia. Every year the commemoration of National Children's Day is held through various activities for children. All national groups, both from the government and the private sector, participate in commemorating National Children's Day starting from the Central, Provincial, to all Regencies / Cities. In this case, Indonesia is currently experiencing a Covid-19 pandemic which has an impact on all community activities to develop. One of them is Semarang City, which is to commemorate National Children's Day 2020, the City of Semarang in particular the Semarang City Women Empowerment and Child Protection Service (DP3A) as the implementing committee is collaborating with the Semarang City Social Service to make National Children's Day successful in Semarang City during this pandemic. There are 6 activities namely Talkshow, Variety of Children's Contest, Online Art Performance, Webinar, Charity Concert, Donation. These activities will be carried out online and offline but still adhere to health protocols. The series of activities began on July 14, 2002 to August 18, 2020. After being held at that time there were more than 800 students who took part in the art show, from the previous target of 300 students, there were 15 media partners who were among the 10 determined targets, reaching the presence of resource persons. for talk shows and webinars, reaching 150 participants, and for donations reaching Rp. 14. 954,250 from the previous target of Rp. 5,000,000.

Abstract

The development of increasingly advanced technology allows a person to make online shopping purchases on an e-commerce site as a mediator. E-commerce activities that are not directly face-to-face with buyers and sellers, in online buying and selling in e-commerce will make a risk assumption. The number of fraud problems that occur in online buying and selling this affects both sellers and buyers, with the emergence of such cases will make buyers and sellers more cautious in making trades through online media. The purpose of this study is to explain the influence of e-commerce fraud news consumption intensity and communication intensity of reference group on purchasing interest level on tokopedia online shopping site. The theory used is Uses and Gratification. The type of research that quantitative research uses with explanatory survey research methods. Sampling used non-probability sampling. The sample in this study amounted to 30 respondents with male and female characterization based in Tembalang sub-district of Semarang. Analyze data using linear regression tests. The results showed there was an influence of e-commerce fraud news consumption intensity and communication intensity of reference group on purchasing interest level on tokopeida onine shopping site. This is supported by the calculation of the X1 variable correlation coefficient of 0.400 and the X1 regression coefficient of 0.296 which states that each increase in variable X1 then Y will increase or affect by 0.296 or 29.6%. The results of the second hypothesis showed there was an influence of e-commerce fraud news consumption intensity on purchasing interest level on tokopedia online shopping site as evidenced by the correlation coefficient for variable X2 of 1,056 which showed a large rated r-value of the r-value table (0.361) and the X2 correlation coefficient of 0.475 which states that each X2 variable increase will have an effect of 0.475 or 49.5%. The results of variable e-commerce fraud news consumption intensity and the intensity of referral group communication suggest both have a significant relationship to variable level on tokopedia online shopping site. Meanwhile, spss test results obtained by Ry(1,2) (0.806) have a calculated value greater than the number value in the table (0.361).

Abstract

National Children's Day is the day the rights of Indonesian children are fulfilled, both for children residing in Indonesia and for children outside Indonesia. So that children in Indonesia get the same and broadest opportunity to be able to express themselves in positive activities. This year's National Children's Day will be held online, due to conditions that are currently experiencing the Covid-19 pandemic. Semarang City has also participated in celebrating National Children's Day by holding a series of activities in the form of talk shows, competitions, webinars, online art performances, charity concerts, and donation submissions. The theme of this event was "Being Great with the New Generation". We hoped that with the implementation of HAN 2020 the City of Semarang can provide education to children and parents about new cultures that must always be applied such as using masks, washing hands, behaving clean and healthy and can provide a forum for creativity and development for children while they have to stay at home. In a series of activities at the Semarang City 2020 National Children's Day Commemoration, the creative manager is responsible for all the creative outputs needed during the event, which in this case is related to design, documentation, and publication. In addition, the competition coordinator is responsible for arranging and ensuring that the competition can run smoothly and can still deliver the Semarang City National Children's Day 2020 theme campaign even though it is carried out with an online system. The commemoration of the National Children's Day for Semarang City 2020 which was held on July 13 to August 18 2020 managed to achieve the target of 432 competition participants, successfully held 6 talkshows and collaborated with local television and radio, the webinar reached the target of 555 participants, donations collected amounting to Rp. 14,954,250, online art performances attended by more than 500 participants and can bring influencers and speakers who are experts in their fields.

Abstract

The Ombudsman as a supervisory agency for the delivery of public services uses the website as a medium of information. Currently, it is still rare to find public service facilities that are friendly to persons with disabilities, this can be seen from several news reports in online mass media that report persons with disabilities do not receive special attention in public services. This type of research is a quantitative explanatory study and uses the media effects theory and sense making theory. The test results show that the R Square value is 0.521 or 52.1%. This means that 52.1% understanding of persons with disabilities about the existence of the Ombudsman as a public service supervisory agency that cares for persons with disabilities can be explained by the intensity of reading the ombudsman.go.id website. While the rest (100% -52.1% = 47.9%) was explained by other factors. From the test results obtained that the value of R Square is 0.394 or 39.4%. This means that 39.4% understanding of persons with disabilities about the existence of the Ombudsman as a public service supervisory agency that cares for persons with disabilities can be explained by the intensity of reading the ombudsman.go.id website. While the rest (100% -39.4% = 60.6%) is explained by other factors. This means that if the intensity of reading the website and the perspective of persons with disabilities are increased together towards a positive direction, the understanding of people with disabilities about the existence of the Ombudsman as a public service supervisory agency that cares for people with disabilities. The sample in this study was 70 members of the Roemah Difabel Semarang foundation who read information through the ombudsman website. go.id related to the Ombudsman as a public service supervisory agency that cares for persons with disabilities and knows the facts of public services that are not in accordance with standards for persons with disabilities.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship of each variable, exposure to Tokopedia BTS advertising news (X1), word of mouth exposure (X2) with interest in using the Tokopedia (Y) application. This research uses quantitative research methods. The data collection technique used non probability sampling with a sample size of 50 respondents. The analysis used to test the hypothesis is the Pearson correlation test. Hypothesis testing that has been carried out shows that Tokopedia BTS advertising news exposure with interest in using the Tokopedia application is 0.012 (<0.05) with a correlation coefficient of 0.354, so there is a positive relationship between news exposure and interest in using Tokopedia. The significance result of word of mouth exposure with interest in using is 0.019 (<0.05) with a correlation coefficient of 0.330, so there is a positive relationship between word of mouth exposure and interest in using the Tokopedia application.

Abstract

Nurturing pattern in family brought consequences to children’s behavior, for example, nurturing pattern of a married couple which only one of them that work. Nurturing pattern involves communication between parents and children, so that communication becomes important in the relationship between parents and child. This study aimed to describe nurturing pattern of married couple who both work, in relations of the children’s deviant behavior. Using an interpretive paradigm with a qualitative descriptive approach. The research subjects were three married couples who both work puts ide the house and have children in their teens. The theory that been used is the Theory of Family Communication Pattern and Theory of Relational Dialectics. The results of this study indicate that protective pattern, laissez faire pattern and pluralistic patterns that previously being predicted were found in this study. The protective pattern was found in couple number 1 which characterized by a low conversational orientation and a high conformity orientation. A low conversation orientation is characterized by a lack of communication and openness between couples 1 and the child. Meanwhile, a high conformity orientation is characterized by determining guidelines or what kind of rules for their children to do and the children being led to obey the rules of their parents. The laissez faire pattern were found in couple 2 which characterized by a low conversational orientation and conformity orientation. Minimal conversation activity also lacks of assertiveness and involvement between parents and children on a daily basis. Meanwhile, the pluralistic pattern were found in couple 3 is characterized by a high conversational orientation and a low conformity orientation. The talk activity between parents and children who fairly frequent so there is a child's openness to the parents. Meanwhile, a low conformity orientation is characterized by a lack of firmness about the rules and limits of children's behavior and tends to free their children for doing something. Despite having different nurturing pattern, the three married couples who both worked, found deviant behavior in their children. The deviant behavior that was found are different from one couple’s child to another, but the form of deviant behavior was the same, namely deviant non-conforming behavior.

Abstract

Reynhard Sinaga became point of attention in mass media in early 2020, including for Tribunnews.com. Tribun sees reynhard's case as worthy/important news because of the factors of harassment cases with many victims and supported by the sexual orientation of Reynhard that is incompatible with the eastern culture of indonesia. In this study a total of 16 news items were selected for sample. The news taken from the reporting period which conducted by Tribunnews.com in January-April 2020 with a total of 50 more news items related to Reynhard. The 16 selected news items will be analyzed using zhongdang pan and Gerald M Kosicki model analysis. This study analyzed the media side of Tribunnews.com in campaigning the case of Reynhard Sinaga. It is known that Reynhard had a sexual orientation of being a gay in his life.Then, the writer will find out what the depiction of the news published by the Tribunnews when reporting the case. The results of the study found that the Tribunnews.com as a media in each of their news or report shows a negative tendency towards Reynhard Sinaga. The pattern of campaign always puts the negative side of Reynhard Sinaga to be displayed, regardless of his crime, his chosen orientation, problems with his family, and humiliating the State of Indonesia. Reynhard Sinaga's emphasis on sexual orientation is the source or basis of the news made by Tribunnews.com. Tribun's policy when preaching Reynhard was influenced by his editorial policy, and saw the majority of Indonesians as Muslim. Where it would be difficult to find a reader if tribun applied the neutrality side in the news.

Abstract

This research with the title Marketing Communication Strategy of Honda Big Bike Astra Motor Semarang in Increasing Total Sales. This research is focused on the Marketing Communication Strategy that has been implemented at PT. Astra Motor Semarang in the Honda Big Bike division. The results of data collection and interviews found that the sales data of the Honda Big Bike had significant differences in the ups and downs of sales achievements in 2016, 2017 and 2018. In 2016, sales of the Honda Big Bike were 7 units, then increased sharply in 2017, namely 32 units, then sales fell again in 2018 to only 19 units. The first factor that affects the achievement of motorcycle sales in 2017 is the intense promotion in the form of media advertisements, personal selling and holding a promotional cast which is carried out every month in 2017. The second factor is sufficient ready stock of Honda motorbikes, so that the waiting period for orders (indent purchase) is not too long because consumers of this type of big bike generally want cash purchases. The third factor is that the price per unit is still affordable for people in Semarang and Central Java. In 2018 there was an unexpected decrease in sales achievement, namely to only 19 units, from the information data obtained by researchers due to the reduced frequency of exhibition event promotions compared to 2017. The motorbike's “ready stock” supply was reduced due to restrictions on imported goods regulations, resulting in consumers who will buy in cash cancels the purchase plan. The enthusiasm of some people, especially in big cities, for the lifestyle of riding motor sports and large motorbikes, the sale of large motorbikes still has a great opportunity. The results showed that the Honda Big Bike Division PT. Astra Motor Semarang has used the Promotion mix theory which has 4 elements of a promotional strategy, namely Advertising, Sales Promotion, Publicity, Personal Selling, which aims to increase sales volume, in addition to product introduction, as well as attracting customers and instilling a good image of the company. Of all the strategies that have been implemented, Personal selling is one of the most dominant promotional strategies, appropriate and effective for selling speciality goods such as the Honda Big Bike which has high value.

Abstract

Radio is already in danger of dying out due to its disability to keep up with digitalization. In 2019, radio penetration is decreased from 37.6 percent to 34.3 percent in Semarang. People today are tend to use digital devices and leave radio to fulfil their needs. This change resulted in decreased public interest in listening to radio. However, in the midst of the decline in radio's existence, there are still radios that are actively broadcasting and still exist among their listeners, one of it is Trax FM Semarang which has a good brand engagement and maintains its existence among listeners. This study aims to determine the Trax FM Semarang strategy in maintaining brand engagement among listeners. This research refers to the interpretive paradigm with a single case study method. The data collection technique used was in-depth interviews and collecting research results in document form. This study uses Customer Relationship Management Theory. This study also uses the concept of Radio Broadcasting Programming and Brand Engagement. The results of this study explain that the strategies used by Trax FM Semarang in maintaining its brand engagement include always making broadcasting programs that are appropriate and “connecting” with its target market. In keeping up with technological developments, Trax FM Semarang is always active in creating content on its social media, developing radio access on streaming websites and mobile applications. For relations with external stakeholders, Trax FM Semarang always maintains good relationships and also moves to become an Event Organizer according to client needs and for Trax FM's own needs.
