Abstract

The emergence of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) has significantly transformed educational practices by enabling personalized learning, automated content generation, and intelligent tutoring systems. Despite its growing adoption, limited research has examined its pedagogical implications within Islamic Religious Education (IRE). This study aims to analyze the opportunities, ethical challenges, and educational impacts of integrating GenAI into Islamic Religious Education. A qualitative research approach employing a systematic literature review and expert interviews was conducted. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify key trends in AI-assisted Islamic learning. The findings indicate that GenAI enhances personalized instruction, supports adaptive learning, facilitates lesson planning, and improves students’ engagement with Islamic learning materials. However, ethical concerns—including academic integrity, algorithmic bias, misinformation, and excessive technological dependence—necessitate comprehensive ethical guidelines grounded in Islamic values. The study proposes an Islamic AI governance framework emphasizing transparency, accountability, digital ethics, and responsible AI use. The novelty of this research lies in developing an Islamic Generative AI Pedagogical Framework that integrates technological innovation with Islamic educational philosophy, providing practical guidance for responsible AI implementation in twenty-first-century Islamic education.

Abstract

Islamic economics views consumption as being based on needs rather than desires, which differentiates it from conventional economics. Islam prohibits extravagance and equates it with satanic behavior. In Islam, consumption is focused on needs rather than wants to prevent wastefulness and encourage responsible behavior. Islamic teachings emphasize the moderate and responsible use of resources in consumption patterns. This study aims to determine how Islamic microeconomic literature describes consumption theory. This research is a qualitative literature review with a descriptive approach. The study collects data by analyzing journals, books, and other sources relevant to the research topic

Abstract

Muslimah teenagers play a vital role as the nation’s future generation while also carrying the responsibility of preserving Islamic values in the midst of modern challenges. This study aims to analyze the understanding of Muslimah students at SMAN 1 Sangatta Selatan regarding faith, health, and education, as well as to examine the influence of the Friday Rohis (Islamic Spiritual Program) activities in enhancing their spiritual awareness and religiosity. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through participatory observation, interviews with Muslimah students and Islamic teachers, and documentation of activities. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the Friday Rohis program significantly contributes to shaping students’ understanding of the importance of balancing faith, health, and education. The success of the program is supported by the school’s strong commitment, adequate facilities, and learning approaches that are relevant to teenage life. However, challenges remain in terms of teaching methods and classroom management, which need improvement to create a more conducive learning environment. In conclusion, the Friday Rohis program serves as an empowerment platform for Muslimah students to build a religious, intelligent, and well-characterized identity, enabling them to face the demands of modern times without losing their Islamic values

Abstract

This study aims to develop an Islamic educational framework that integrates environmental ethics with sustainable learning practices through the perspective of Islamic eco-theology. A qualitative library research approach was employed by examining scholarly literature on Islamic environmental ethics, sustainability education, ecological theology, and curriculum development. Data were analyzed using thematic content analysis to identify the relationship between Qur'anic environmental principles and contemporary educational practices. The findings indicate that Islamic education possesses a comprehensive ethical foundation for promoting environmental stewardship through the concepts of khalīfah (vicegerency), amānah (trust), mīzān (balance), and iṣlāḥ (environmental restoration). Integrating these principles into educational practices encourages students to develop ecological awareness, environmental responsibility, and sustainable lifestyles while strengthening their spiritual commitment. The proposed framework combines Islamic environmental ethics with sustainability-oriented pedagogy to support holistic student development. The novelty of this study lies in constructing an integrated eco-theological educational framework that bridges Islamic teachings with contemporary sustainability education

Abstract

Computational Thinking (CT) has become an essential competency for students in the digital era. However, its integration into Islamic Religious Education has received little scholarly attention. This study aims to formulate a conceptual framework for integrating Computational Thinking into Islamic Religious Education while maintaining the integrity of Islamic values and pedagogical objectives. A mixed-method sequential explanatory design was employed. Quantitative data were collected from 328 students through competency assessments, while qualitative data were obtained through interviews with teachers and curriculum experts. The findings reveal that integrating decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithmic thinking into Islamic learning activities significantly enhances students’ analytical reasoning, decision-making abilities, and problem-solving competencies. Students also demonstrated greater capacity to apply Islamic teachings when addressing contemporary ethical and social issues. Teachers reported increased instructional innovation and higher classroom engagement. The novelty of this research lies in proposing the Islamic Computational Thinking Integration Framework, combining computational thinking competencies with Islamic ethical reasoning to prepare students for the challenges of Education 5.0.
