<![CDATA[“Girl with a Pearl Earring” adalah novel karya Tracy Chevalier yang mengangkatkisah tentang seorang pembantu rumah tangga yang melawan majikannya untukmempertahankan kebenaran dan kehormatannya. Hal yang menjadi fokus utamapengkajian novel ini adalah identifikasi stereotype dan peran sosial pekerja kelasbawah (dalam hal ini pembantu) dan simbol perbedaan status yang dilawan olehtokoh utama dalam novel sehingga menimbulkan konflik antara pembantu danmajikan. Untuk menganalisis pokok masalah tersebut penulis menggunakanmetode kontekstual dengan pendekatan sosiologi berdasarkan teori StereotypeSimbol dan Status. Teori Status yang akan diterapkan dalam proses pengkajiannovel adalah teori Max Weber. Tujuan dari pemilihan topik ini adalah untukmengidentifikasi perbedaan status antara kelas atas dan kelas bawah serta konflikstatus yang dapat ditimbulkan. Dari hasil analisis pengkajian konflik statustersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa tatanan stereotype suatu kelas sosial yangberlaku dalam masyarakat berhubungan dengan perbedaan status dari anggotakelas sosial tersebut. Hubungan sosial ini tidak selalu dapat berjalan dengan baikkarena akan ada saatnya terjadi konflik ketika salah satu kelas sosial melakukanpenyimpangan stereotype dan peran sosial yang menjadi pembeda status seseorangdengan yang lain.]]>

<![CDATA[In a revealing expression and feeling, the author uses an analysis with the meaning of the lyrics of the song created. This final paper contains about racial equality described in the lyrics of Michael Jackson's "Black or White". The writer interests in discussing racial equality because this topic is very important among people of color, especially this has been experienced by such famous pop singer Michael Jackson who used to be blacks. This discussion intends to illustrate the points of race equality expressed by Michael Jackson through the lyrics of the song "Black or White". The writer uses a method of library research, so the writer uses books or libraries, music and lyric scrutining, recording, articles, flash media interviews and additional references in the search on the internet to collect data. The analysis in this final paper raises the Popular Culture of Culturalism theory presented by John Storey. The result shows that Michael Jackson expresses his feelings against the differences between races, especially African-Americans in her private life through a piece of song lyrics.]]>

<![CDATA[Pride and Prejudice karya Jane Austen merupakan salah satu karya terbaik sastra pada zaman itu hingga sekarang. Buku ini mengisahkan tentang cinta antara Elizabeth dan Darcy yang terpaksa terhalang oleh status social pada zaman itu, yaitu zaman Victorian. Zaman Victorian itu tersebut terdiri dari tiga golongan masyarakat, yaitu kelas atas ( upper class), kelas sedang ( middle class), dan kelas bawah ( lower class). Di Final Project ini akan mendiskusikan tentang tema : cinta ( Love ) dan kelas social ( social class), sudut pandang dari Elizabeth (point of view) dan kelebihan serta kekurangan ( strengthen and weakness) dari buku ini. <![CDATA[This research explains the Javanese sound distribution, the sound change that is caused by the suffix /-i/, and the phonological process of the base word that is attached by the suffix /-i/. The data used in this study are from the utterances of Javanese native college students from Semarang, Kendal, and Solo. The result shows that the distribution is divided into two based on the position. Besides, in Javanese, the suffix /-i/ has the functions, which are (1) to change the part of speech, (2) to show the passive verb, (3) to show the repetitive action. The result also shows that there are two phonological processes that are caused by the suffix /-i/. They are addition of the /n/ consonant and the vowel weakening.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this thesis is to find out how discrimination happens in society and causes a lot of horrible effects to people. This final paper uses the intrinsic elements such as imagery to imagine the detail of discrimination in Rexroth’s “discrimination”. The writer also used library research in collecting the data. In analyzing the extrinsic elements, the writer used Racism and Discrimination concepts to see that there were indications of racist and discriminative behavior in this poem. <![CDATA[In this paper, the writer discuss orientalism in William Somerset Maugham’s The painted Veil. The purpose of the paper is to analyze how West describes the East and how the East looks at the West. The conflicts, the settings, and the characters in the novel are also shown in order to supporting the orientalism. It also discusses how the orientalism works in this novel and how the relation between the occident or the west and the orient or the east. In doing this research, the writer uses method of library research. The object of the paper is William Somerset Maugham’s The painted Veil. The writer also uses postcolonial approach to help explain the issues in The Painted Veil. To investigate the issues, the writer uses orientalism theory by Edward Said.From the discussion in the paper the writer finds that there are some parts that show the British view towards Chinese. The orientalism in this novel is also shown in some parts such as the policy of British in China, the purpose of conquering China, and in comparison of The West religion and The East Religion. ]]>

<![CDATA[Ratu Adil: Memoar Seorang Skizofren, merupakan buku pertama yang ditulis oleh Satira Isvandiary. Buku tersebut bercerita tentang pengalaman hidup pengarang selama ia menjadi penderita skizofren. Di dalam novel tersebut Satira Isvandiary menjelaskan setiap kejadian yang ia alami secara jelas dan detail, agar pembaca bisa merasakan apa yang dia alami. Pengarang juga menjelaskan tentang penyakit skizofrenia dan penyebab dari penyakit tersebut. Penulis sangat tertarik memilih novel ini sebagai tugas akhir karena novel ini berbeda dengan novel-novel lainnya yang juga bercerita mengenai skizofrenia. Di dalam tugas akhir ini, penulis berusaha mengemukakan tentang kelebihan dari novel ini yaitu menyimpulkan manfaat-manfat yang ada di dalam buku agar pembaca bisa mengetahui sisi pandang pendapat dari penulis, dan kekurangan novel ini hanya terletak pada penggunaan beberapa kata dalam bahasa Jawa. Secara keseluruhan, buku tersebut sangat cocok sebagai referensi untuk pembaca. Selain ceritanya yang bagus, banyak manfaat yang bisa diperoleh pembaca setelah membaca buku tersebut.]]>
