Abstract

This research was conducted at Madrasah Tsanawiyah (Islamic Junior High School) Assa’adah Sukaraja, Bogor, with participants from grades VII–IX who experienced parental divorce. The purpose of this study was to analyze the role of social support in maintaining adolescents’ mental health when facing the psychological impact of parental separation. The research used a descriptive qualitative method with observation, structured interviews, and documentation involving six purposively selected participants. Data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation, while data analysis was carried out through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that adolescents from divorced families were more vulnerable to feelings of sadness, anxiety, loneliness, and symptoms of depression that affected their social interactions and academic performance. However, social support from peers, teachers, and family played an important role in reducing emotional pressure and enhancing adaptive ability. Support in the form of attention, affection, motivation, and practical assistance strengthened self-confidence and psychological endurance. Thus, social support serves as a protective factor that helps adolescents adjust and maintain their mental health after their parents’ divorce.

Abstract

Job stress is a prevalent psychological issue in Indonesia, significantly impacting employee well-being and organizational effectiveness. While social support is a recognized protective factor, Indonesian research has largely focused on organizational support, leaving spousal support relatively under-examined. Drawing on the Buffering Hypothesis and Conservation of Resources Theory, this study conceptualizes spousal support as a vital personal resource for mitigating work-related stressors. This study examines the effect of spousal support on job stress among employees of Limited Liability Companies in Bogor City, an urban industrial hub with high work demands. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected via purposive sampling from 134 employees across three companies. Spousal support was measured using standardized scales (emotional, instrumental, and informational), while job stress was assessed through dimensions of workload, time pressure, role ambiguity, and psychological strain. Simple linear regression analysis reveals that spousal support has a significant negative effect on job stress with a moderate effect size. These findings suggest that higher perceived spousal support is associated with lower job stress levels. Practically, the results underscore the importance of family dynamics in employee welfare policies and work–life balance programs.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of psychopressure therapy on anxiety in the elderly at the Wijaya Kusuma 2 Posyandu, Sindangsari, Bogor. Conducted over 14 days, this study used a pretest and postest experimental design with 15 respondents experiencing anxiety. Primary data were obtained through the Geriatric Anxiety Inventory (GAI) questionnaire, while secondary data were obtained from Posyandu visit records. The results showed that 6 respondents (40.0%) experienced mild anxiety, 7 respondents (46.7%) moderate anxiety, and 2 respondents (13.3%) severe anxiety before the intervention. After psychopressure therapy, 7 respondents (46.7%) experienced no anxiety, 6 respondents (40.0%) experienced moderate anxiety, 2 respondents (13.3%) experienced mild anxiety, and none experienced severe anxiety. A paired t-test yielded a p-value of 0.000, indicating that psychopressure therapy at HT 7 (shenmen) and PC 6 (neiguan) points was effective in reducing anxiety in the elderly. This finding highlights the importance of both physical and psychological interventions to improve the physical and mental well-being of the elderly.
