Abstract

Emotional maturity plays an important role in the lives of adolescents, particularly in their efforts to adapt to school and social environments. Tenth-grade vocational high school students face new challenges, both academically and socially, thus requiring sufficient emotional maturity to adapt appropriately. This study aims to examine the relationship between emotional maturity and the adjustment process among tenth-grade vocational high school students. The approach employed is correlational quantitative, involving 31 students selected in accordance with the research objectives. The instruments used were the emotional maturity scale and the adjustment scale, both of which had been previously tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation test through SPSS. The results of the analysis indicate a strong positive and significant relationship between emotional maturity and adjustment (r = 0.799; p = 0.000). In other words, an increase in students’ emotional maturity is aligned with an improvement in their ability to adjust to environmental demands. These findings highlight the importance of fostering emotional maturity through educational programs and guidance services in schools. Therefore, schools are expected to place greater emphasis on students’ emotional aspects to support their academic and social success.

Abstract

The decline in employee performance within government institutions is often influenced by low work motivation and discipline, as observed at the Citeureup District Office, Bogor. This study aims to analyze the effect of work motivation and work discipline on employee performance using a quantitative approach. The research employed a saturated sampling technique involving 52 respondents, while data were analyzed through validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, correlation, coefficient of determination, and hypothesis testing. The findings reveal that work motivation has a significant effect on employee performance, contributing 45.8%, while work discipline significantly influences performance by 53.2%. Simultaneously, motivation and discipline significantly affect performance with a determination coefficient of 60.9%, while the remaining 39.1% is explained by other factors. The regression equation obtained is Y = 9.165 + 0.314X1 + 0.463X2. These results highlight that strengthening both motivation and discipline is crucial for improving employee performance. The implication is that public sector management should formulate consistent policies that enhance motivation and enforce discipline to optimize service delivery and organizational goals.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the decline in performance of the Agency Development Division at PT Asuransi Sinar Mas during 2022–2024, reflected in lower premium achievement, slower growth of active agents, and decreased policy renewal rates. These gaps are suspected to be linked to internal human resource factors, namely competence, training effectiveness, and employee development programs. The study aims to examine the influence of competence (X₁), training (X₂), and development (X₃) on employee performance (Y). A quantitative approach was applied with saturated sampling, involving 74 respondents, and data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 30. The results show that competence, training, and development each have a positive and significant effect on performance. Simultaneously, the three variables significantly affect performance with a contribution of 57.4%, while 42.6% is explained by other factors outside this study. The findings highlight that strengthening competence, improving training effectiveness, and implementing sustainable development programs can address employee performance gaps. A unique contribution of this research is the evidence that competence is the most dominant factor, reinforcing the view that human resource quality is the key driver of performance in the competitive insurance industry.

Abstract

The rise of digital technology has reshaped the landscape of financial behavior, particularly through the integration of features such as e-wallets, cashback incentives, and gamification within financial applications. These developments indicate that financial decision-making is no longer driven solely by rational processes, as assumed in the Homo Economicus model, but is increasingly influenced by emotional and neurological mechanisms aligned with the Homo Psychologicus perspective. This study explores the relationship between the brain's dopaminergic system and digital stimuli that contribute to impulsive financial behavior in the fintech era, drawing from neuroeconomics, behavioral finance, and digital economics. Employing a narrative literature review method, the analysis synthesizes insights from multidisciplinary scholarly sources. The findings are organized into four central themes: the role of dopamine in reward processing and risk-taking, the impact of digital triggers such as notifications and flash sales, and moderating factors including personality traits, financial literacy, and Generation Z characteristics. The study proposes a conceptual framework of “Digital Dopamine Economy” to explain the interplay between external digital stimuli and internal neurobehavioral responses. Its primary contribution lies in advancing a theoretical model that bridges disciplines and offers a foundation for future empirical research and neuroscience-informed financial literacy initiatives.

Abstract

The massive development of social media among teenagers has serious implications for mental health, one of which is the phenomenon of nomophobia, or excessive anxiety when unable to access a cell phone. This study aims to examine the effect of social media usage intensity on the level of nomophobia among high school students in Bogor City. The research design uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey method. Data were collected through an online questionnaire. When the data were not normally distributed, analysis was performed using non-parametric regression testing with the bootstrapping technique. The results showed that the intensity of social media use had a significant effect on the level of nomophobia (p < 0.001; 95% CI BCa did not include zero). These findings reinforce the Uses and Gratifications 2.0 theory and contribute to the development of digital literacy and preventive interventions in educational settings. In conclusion, the higher the intensity of social media use, the greater the tendency for adolescents to experience nomophobia. Further research is recommended using a longitudinal design and considering moderator variables such as self-control or social support to deepen understanding
