Abstract

The economic growth of DI Yogyakarta Province tends to increase from 2008 to 2020. Meanwhile, there are still many districts or cities that are still coming in below average of DI Yogyakarta Province’s economic growth. Differences in economic growth show income inequality. Income inequality between regions can lead to development problems and economic instability. This study aims to analyze the magnitude of income inequality between regions and classify the leading regions in DI Yogyakarta Province, as well as to prove the Kuznets Hypothesis. The analytical methods used are Williamson index analysis and Location Quotient (LQ). The results showed that there are still many areas in DI Yogyakarta Province that are classified as relatively underdeveloped areas (quadrant IV). The income disparity between regions in Central Java Province in 2008-2020 is high (>0.5).

Abstract

Poverty is a problem that occurs across the world, even in developed countries, especially in Indonesia. The increase in the poverty rate from year to year is a problem that must be faced by the community and the government. This study aims to analyze whether the independent variables consisting of GRDP, Fiscal Capacity, and HDI have an influence on the poverty rate in 34 provinces in Indonesia in 2015-2019. The data used in this study is panel data with time series data for the 2015-2019 period and a cross-section of 34 provinces in Indonesia. The analytical tool used is panel data regression analysis using the Eviews10 program. From the stages of analysis carried out, the results of data analysis showed that the results of the panel data estimation selected the best model, namely the Random Effect Model (REM). The results showed that the GRDP variable had a positive and significant effect on poverty, while the variables of Fiscal Capacity, and HDI have a negative and significant effect on the poverty level.

Abstract

The decline in the quality of the education sector prompted the government to intervene. To educate the nation in accordance with the mandate of the law, the government provides assistance in the form of school operational assistance. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness and accuracy of the distribution of benefits from the BOS policy in public junior high schools in Bonang District. This study employs a quantitative descriptive method with four relevant indicators to assess effectiveness and uses the Benefit Incident Analysis (BIA) method to evaluate the distribution of benefits from the policy. Based on the results of the research conducted in public junior high schools in Bonang District, the program cannot be deemed effective. While the Flexibility and Accountability Indicators are considered effective, the Transparency Indicator remains ineffective. The distribution of benefits from the program is minimal, at only 9%, leading to the conclusion that the policy can be classified as regressive.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the poverty rate, unemployment rate, and labor force participation rate on the human development index of DKI Jakarta. This study was conducted to find out whether or not those variables are indeed three factors that played an important role in encouraging DKI Jakarta to have the highest human development index among 33 other provinces in Indonesia. This study used panel data from 6 administrative districts and cities in DKI Jakarta during 2010-2021 using a random effect panel regression model. The results showed that there was a significant negative effect of the poverty rate and the open unemployment rate on the human development index. Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate has a significant positive effect on the human development index of DKI Jakarta during 2010-2021. According to the F-statistic, it showed the human development index simultaneously affected by the poverty rate, open unemployment rate, and labor force participation rate within 60% R-squared. This study specifically highlights economics and employment in DKI Jakarta as aspects with the most programs and policies applied.
