Abstract

Regional disparity is a common phenomenon in the process of regional economic development in developing countries. In order to reduce regional disparity, it is necessary to study the factors that influence regional disparity. This research aims to analyze the effect of Foreign Direct Investment (PMA), Domestic Direct Investment (PMDN), Balancing Funds, and Agglomeration on Regional Development Disparity in Banten Province in the 2011-2020 period. This study uses panel data regression analysis with the Random Effect Model (REM) approach. The regression results with the Random Effect Model (REM) approach with the Generalized Least Square (GLS) method show that in 2011-2020, partially the variables of foreign direct investment, domestic direct investment, and agglomeration have no a significant effect, and only the balancing fund variable has a significant effect on regional development disparity in a negative direction.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of monetary policy transmission implemented by Bank Indonesia through the interest rate and asset price channels in achieving the final target, inflation. The method used in this study is the Vector Error Correction (VEC) model, and the data utilized are monthly data from August 2016 to December 2022. The VEC model shows that, in the long term, the transmission of monetary policy through the interest rate and asset price channels proves to influence inflation. However, in the short term, only the asset price channel shows a significant effect on inflation. The originality of this research lies in analyzing the use of the BI-7 DRR as the new benchmark interest rate in the implementation of the Flexible ITF.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the extent to which fiscal decentralization and regional retribution affect the inflation rate in the provinces of Banten, West Java, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, and East Java. The research can serve as a reference for the government in managing fiscal decentralization funds (DBH, DAU, and DAK) as well as regional retribution. The researchers used a quantitative approach and the method employed in this study is multiple linear regression using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM). The results show that the ratio of DBH to inflation has a negative effect on inflation in the provinces of Banten, West Java, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, and East Java. The ratio of DAU to inflation also has a negative effect, the ratio of DBH to inflation has a negative effect, and regional retribution has a positive but insignificant effect on inflation. The study examines the extent of the effect of fiscal decentralization funds (DBH, DAU, and DAK) and regional retribution on inflation in the provinces of Java Island, namely Banten, West Java, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, and East Java, excluding DKI Jakarta. This is because the fiscal gap in general allocation funds in DKI Jakarta is covered by regional income, so there is no transfer of central income to DKI Jakarta in the form of general allocation funds.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors of production that affect the amount of corn farming production in Geyer District, Grobogan Regency. This study uses primary data with a questionnaire technique. The number of samples in this study was obtained from 100 farmer respondents. Completion of the number of samples to be taken is determined by the Slovin formula. This study uses the Cobb-Douglas production function to determine the coefficients of the regression of production factors consisting of seeds, large land area, labor, fertilizers, and pesticides on corn production. The results showed that the production factors that significantly influence corn production are seeds and land area. While the other 3 variables, namely labor, fertilizer, and tickets, have no significant effect. The corn production function in Geyer District, Grobogan Regency is in a Return to Scale condition of 1.05467, which indicates increasing returns because the Return to Scale coefficient is above 1, this is because the production factors used can still be increased.

Abstract

Economic growth is the process of increasing the production capacity of an economy which is realized in the form of regions. An area is said to experience economic growth if there is an increase in GRDP (Gross Regional Domestic Product) in the area. The economic problem in Central Java Province is the problem of the number of people still living in poverty and becoming unemployed. The high level of poverty and the high rate of unemployment if not addressed immediately will lead to poor people and unemployment which continues to grow every year. This study aims to analyze the effect of population, unemployment, and poverty on economic growth in Central Java Province in 2010-2020. The method used is multiple linear regression to determine the effect of population, unemployment, and poverty on economic growth in Central Java Province. The independent variables used in this study consisted of population, unemployment and poverty, the dependent variable used in this study was economic growth. The results of this study note that the population variable has a partial and significant positive effect on economic growth. Unemployment and poverty variables have a partial and significant negative effect on economic growth.

Abstract

The decline in the quality of the education sector prompted the government to intervene. To educate the nation in accordance with the mandate of the law, the government provides assistance in the form of school operational assistance. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness and accuracy of the distribution of benefits from the BOS policy in public junior high schools in Bonang District. This study employs a quantitative descriptive method with four relevant indicators to assess effectiveness and uses the Benefit Incident Analysis (BIA) method to evaluate the distribution of benefits from the policy. Based on the results of the research conducted in public junior high schools in Bonang District, the program cannot be deemed effective. While the Flexibility and Accountability Indicators are considered effective, the Transparency Indicator remains ineffective. The distribution of benefits from the program is minimal, at only 9%, leading to the conclusion that the policy can be classified as regressive.

Abstract

Inequality is a common problem that occurs along with the economic development process of a region. The difference in endowment factors in each region is the cause of the widening level of inequality. This study aims to analyse the effect of economic growth, industrial agglomeration, domestic investment (PMDN), government spending, and Human Development Index (HDI) on regional inequality in the KEDUNGSEPUR Region in 2011-2020. The level of regional inequality is calculated using Theil's Entropy Index. This study uses the Generalised Least Square (GLS) regression analysis method with a fixed effect model. The data used is panel data which includes cross section of 6 regencies/cities in the KEDUNGSEPUR region and time series from 2011-2020. The results show that the variables of economic growth, industrial agglomeration, and government spending partially have a negative and significant effect on regional inequality in the KEDUNGSEPUR Region. The Human Development Index (HDI) partially has a positive and significant effect on regional inequality, while domestic investment (PMDN) partially has an insignificant effect on regional inequality.
