Abstract

The major issues related to organizational commitment are increasingly needed, especially on the organizational commitment of teachers in order to make the education quality better in this era of globalization. Improving the quality of teachers as the educators continues to be pursued, one of which is by developing organizational commitment to teachers. The purpose of this research is to identify strategies and optimal solutions to increase organizational commitment on teachers entitled as civil servant of public high schools in Depok by examining the influence of teamwork, organizational culture, as well as job satisfaction on organizational commitment. The selected sample in this research consist of 180 people with the Slovin formula. This research applies a method of survey and a path analysis approach, continued by SITOREM analysis. The findings of this research concluded that the strategy to increase organizational commitment in teachers entitled as civil servant of public high schools in Depok could be conducted through strengthening teamwork, organizational culture, and job satisfaction. The outcomes of the SITOREM analysis identified that there are several indicators on teachers characteristics that should be improved further.

Abstract

The availability of competent productive teachers will have a synergistic impact in achieving quality vocational education. In addition, the position of vocational productive teachers is very strategic in preparing the quality of graduates who can be accepted in the workplace. Unfortunately, in fact, the conditions for the absorption of vocational graduates who have the opportunity to create a workforce that is skilled in their fields are still not optimal. Therefore, this research was conducted to find out and examine the improvement of teacher performance through strengthening transformational leadership, organizational culture, empowerment, and pedagogical competence in private vocational schools in Depok. This research was conducted using a combination method between quantitative research with path analysis techniques and SITOREM analysis. Based on the research results and discussion, the general conclusion of this research is that there are strategies in improving teacher performance, such as strengthening the variables of transformational leadership, organizational culture, empowerment, and pedagogical competence. There are also several strategies that can be used to improve teacher performance by improving the indicators that are still weak in each variable to be improved immediately.

Abstract

Education will proceed well when it is supported by adequate teacher competence, able to improve their performance, have discipline and be able to provide exemplary for their students. If teachers do not provide a good performance, the implementation of education will not be as expected. The role of teachers is very important in achieving the success of the education and learning process. The function and role of teachers cannot be replaced by technological advances such as advanced media. The objectives of this research are to find out the strategies and methods in improving teachers’ performance through strengthening the organizational climate, transformational leadership, growth mindset, and work motivation. This research used quantitative research with survey method. While the data analysis techniques used in this research used path analysis techniques and SITOREM analysis. This research was conducted in private junior high schools in Depok, West Java. There are 109 private junior high schools in Depok City distributed in 11 sub-districts, which are Sukmajaya, Tapos, Pancoran Mas, Cimanggis, Sawangan, Cilodong, Bojong Sari, Cipayung, Beji, Limo, and Cinere. Based on the research results and discussion, the general conclusion of this research is that there are several strategies  for improving teacher performance, which is strengthening the variables of organizational climate, transformational leadership, work motivation, and growth mindset, such as ongoing professional development; supportive feedback mechanisms; and integrating technology tools and resources into teaching practices.

Abstract

This research aims to find strategies, ways and optimal solutions to improve lecturer performance by analyzing the impact of transformational leadership, motivation and job satisfaction on lecturer performance. This research uses a survey method with a path analysis approach with further SITOREM analysis. This research discusses that to improve lecturer performance, we need to focus on three factors: transformational leadership, work motivation, and job satisfaction. The variable analysis indicates that transformational leadership has a direct impact on lecturer performance, by improving transformational leadership will strengthen lecturer performance. Furthermore, work motivation and job satisfaction also have a direct impact on lecturer performance. Transformational leadership and work motivation also have an impact on job satisfaction, which then affects lecturer performance indirectly. Therefore, strengthening these aspects can help improve lecturer performance through increased job satisfaction. The results of the SITOREM analysis indicate that there are 11 things that need to be improved, such as salary/wages, supervision, Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi, delegation of authority, opportunities for achievement, desire to work, work goals, good work environment, quality and quantity of work, and efficiency. On the other hand, there are 6 other things that can be improved, such as promotion opportunities, support from coworkers, encouraging motivation, intellectual stimulation, appreciation from the environment, and work effectiveness.

Abstract

Seaweed is one of the marine commodities with high economic value, because of its wide range of use, both in everyday life and in the industrial world, making the extraction process to test the physico-chemical properties of the quality of the extracted Euchema cottoni seaweed. This is an experimental research with a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial pattern consisting of 2 factors; the extraction process with 3 concentrations of KOH solution and the bleaching process with 3 concentrations of CaCO3 solution. This research aims to determine the effect of extraction and bleaching process on the physico-chemical characteristics of Alkali Treated Cottonii Chips (ATTC). The experiments were carried out by adding the concentration of KOH and CaCO3 solution in each treatment. The experiments showed that the concentration of KOH and CaCO3 solution in the processing process of Alkali Treated Cottonii Chips (ATTC) influenced the chemical physicochemical characteristics of Alkali Treated Cottonii Chips (ATTC). In this study, the lowest water content is treatment A3B1 obtained a value of 9.62% highest treatment AIB1 obtained a value of 11.77% where the maximum standard of ATTC water content is 12%, for the lowest pH is treatment A1B2 obtained a value of 9.06% highest treatment A3B2 obtained a value of 9.38% and the highest gel strength treatment A3B2 with a value of 193.10g lowest treatment A3B1 with a value of 66.50g while for the highest carrageenan treatment A1B2 with a value of 63.26% lowest treatment A3B3 with a value of 38.87%.

Abstract

The alkali treatment process typically employs KOH (potassium hydroxide) and CaCO3 (calcium carbonate) to modify Cottonii's cellular structure, facilitating carrageenan extraction and enhancing the final product's quality. The concentration of these solutions significantly impacts the quality of Alkali Treated Cottonii Chips (ATCC). This research aims to determine the effect of KOH and CaCO3 concentrations in the soaking and bleaching process on the quality of Alkali Treated Cottoni Chips (ATCC) produced. The ATCC processing was conducted by adding the concentration of KOH and CaCO3 solution in each treatment. Observations made in this research are water content and pH while for the analysis of the test is gel strength and carrageenan. This research is an experimental study using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a factorial pattern consisting of 2 factors. The results of this research indicate the effect of the concentration of KOH and CaCO3 solutions on the processing of Alkali Treated Cottoni Chips (ATCC) is significantly influential on the quality of ATCC where KOH and CaCO3 contribute to the determination of the analysis of the physical and chemical properties of ATCC both from the ability of KOH to inhibit the rate of water content, pH, and the ability of KOH and CaCO3 in gel formation. The maximum standard of water content of ATCC is 12% in this research, the lowest water content is A3B3 with a value of 9.74%, the highest is A1B1 with a value of 11.72%, for the pH of ATCC, the value ranges between pH 8-11, the pH of A1B1 treatment with the lowest value of 8.66 and the highest is A3B3 with a value of 9.22, while for the highest gel strength is A3B3 treatment with a value of 150.70g and for carrageenan, the highest value is obtained in A2B2 treatment with a value of 65.98%.
