Abstract

Objective: This study aims to determine the role of AI, IoT, and RFID-based digital inventory control systems in improving the operational and financial performance of the retail industry in Indonesia. Operational performance is measured by inventory turnover, while financial performance is measured by gross profit margin, net profit margin, and return on assets. Method: This study uses secondary data, namely data provided by retail companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2020-2024. The sample was selected using a purposive technique of 22 companies. The method used was simple linear regression analysis. Results: The results of this study show that, first, there is no effect of the digital inventory control system variable on inventory turnover. Second, there is an effect of the digital inventory control system variable on gross profit margin. Third, there is an effect of the digital inventory control system variable on net profit margin. Fourth, there is an effect of the digital inventory control system variable on return on assets. Fifth, there is an effect of the digital inventory control system variable on financial performance. Novelty: The novelty of this study lies in examining the role of AI, IoT, and RFID-based digital inventory control systems specifically on both operational performance—measured by inventory turnover—and multiple dimensions of financial performance, including gross profit margin, net profit margin, and return on assets, using retail companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2020-2024. This research provides a new perspective by integrating advanced digital technologies into the analysis of performance indicators in the Indonesian retail industry.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the effects of inflation, economic growth, net lending/borrowing (NLB), general government final consumption expenditure (GGFCE), exports, and imports on tax revenue, measured by the tax-to-GDP ratio, across eight ASEAN countries. Method: Using annual panel data from 2014–2022 (N=8, T=9; 72 observations), the research applies panel regression supported by Chow, Hausman, and LM tests, which identify the Random Effects Model (REM) estimated through EGLS as the most appropriate specification. Hypotheses are examined using two-sided t-tests at a 5% significance level, with emphasis on p-values and R² statistics. Results: The findings indicate that NLB, GGFCE, and imports significantly influence tax revenue, whereas inflation, economic growth, and exports show no significant effects. The model demonstrates moderate explanatory power with R² of approximately 0.46 and Adjusted R² of 0.41. Novelty: This study contributes empirical insight into the fiscal dynamics of ASEAN by integrating macroeconomic, fiscal, and trade variables simultaneously and by identifying government financial behavior and import activity as key determinants of the regional tax base—an area underexplored in prior cross-country tax performance research.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to map and analyse the relationship between green bonds, sustainable finance, and other financial assets to understand thematic developments, empirical findings, and research gaps in the post-Paris Agreement era. Method: A systematic literature review was conducted using the SPAR-4-SLR protocol combined with bibliometric analysis through VOSviewer and Biblioshiny on 110 peer-reviewed articles published between 2018 and 2025. Results: The analysis reveals an exponential growth in publications with an annual rate of 55.12%, highlighting the rapid expansion of the sustainable finance research ecosystem. Empirical evidence consistently confirms the presence of a greenium—green bonds offering lower yields than conventional bonds—along with diversification benefits and reductions in portfolio volatility. Thematic mapping identifies six dominant clusters: sustainable finance, green finance, ESG/SDGs, renewable energy, portfolio and risk, and green innovation, while investor attention emerges as an under-studied moderating variable in cross-asset dynamics. Novelty: This study contributes by identifying the most influential works, structuring the intellectual landscape of sustainable finance, and proposing a future research agenda focused on deepening cross-asset connectivity and enhancing policy relevance, particularly in emerging markets such as Indonesia.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the influence of female directors, foreign directors, board size, bank size, net interest margin (NIM), and loan-to-asset ratio (LTA) on financial performance (ROA) and credit risk (NPL) in banks across five ASEAN countries. Method: Using panel data from 2020–2024 (N=35, T=5; 175 observations), the research employs panel regression with Chow, Hausman, and LM tests to determine the most appropriate estimation model, resulting in the application of the Random Effects Model (REM) using GLS. Results: The findings reveal that female directors significantly decrease financial performance, while foreign directors significantly enhance it, although neither influences credit risk. The control variables show mixed effects: larger boards and banks reduce performance and increase credit risk, NIM increases performance but simultaneously elevates risk, and LTA significantly raises credit risk. Novelty: This study offers new empirical insights by simultaneously examining board diversity, governance structure, and financial indicators in a cross-country ASEAN banking context during the post-pandemic period, highlighting the governance–risk–performance trade-off often overlooked in previous studies.
