Abstract

Objective: Access to financing is a critical factor for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to enhance business capacity and competitiveness; however, it remains a major challenge in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the roles of technological, organizational, and environmental factors in strengthening access to financing and their implications for MSME competitiveness using the Technology–Organization–Environment (TOE) framework, with Internet of Things (IoT) integration as the technological context. Method: A quantitative research design was employed using the Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. The sample consisted of 109 food and beverage MSMEs in Sidoarjo Regency, selected through proportionate stratified sampling. Results: The results indicate that technological and organizational factors have a significant effect on MSME financing, while environmental factors do not show a significant direct effect. Furthermore, technology and organization significantly influence MSME competitiveness, whereas environmental factors are not significant determinants of competitiveness. The findings also reveal that financing has a significant negative effect on MSME competitiveness, suggesting that increased access to financing does not automatically enhance competitiveness unless it is managed productively and efficiently. Overall, the study highlights that strengthening MSME competitiveness is more effectively achieved through the development of internal capabilities, particularly technological readiness and organizational capacity, with financing acting as a supporting factor that must be strategically managed. Novelty: This study contributes empirically to the TOE literature by positioning IoT integration as a mechanism for improving operational data quality to support financing, access and competitiveness.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the effect of professionalism, work culture, and discipline on service performance, both directly and indirectly through the appreciation variable among public service employees in Sidoarjo Regency. Method: The data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 212 respondents during the period of December 2025 to January 2026, and then analyzed using the SEM-PLS method with the assistance of SmartPLS 3.0. Results: The results indicate that all variables have a positive and significant effect on service performance, with the highest coefficient values shown by work culture (0.326) and professionalism (0.311). The R Square value for service performance is 0.632, indicating that the model falls into a moderate to strong category. In addition, appreciation is proven to play a significant mediating role, although the indirect effects are relatively smaller, such as the relationship between work culture and service performance through appreciation (0.075). The NFI value of 0.819 suggests that the model has an acceptable level of fit. Novelty: Overall, these findings confirm that improving service performance is not only influenced by individual factors but is also strengthened by appreciation mechanisms within the organization.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to examine how college students who receive the Indonesia Smart Card (KIP) manage their finances, their lifestyles, and how academic pressures affect them. Method: A qualitative method was used, involving data collection through interviews and observations of four active students from various academic programs. Results: The research indicates that students receiving the KIP demonstrate strong financial management skills, evidenced by their ability to plan fund usage, budget for daily necessities, and control their expenditures. Their lifestyles generally appear simple, frugal, and not wasteful, with a primary focus on educational needs and basic necessities. Meanwhile, academic pressure is perceived differently by each student; some view it as a burden, while others see it as motivation. Pressure from professors and parents is relatively minimal, though it is still felt in some cases. Novelty: This study examines the interrelationship between financial management, lifestyle, and academic pressure among college students receiving the Indonesia Smart Card (KIP) using qualitative evidence from multiple academic programs.

Abstract

Objective: This study examines quality control effectiveness at PT. X upper production line, where non-conformance rates remain high, primarily due to recurring missing felt cases that cause shoes to fall below thickness standards. Method: Using a qualitative approach (in-depth interviews and direct observation with QC team, supervisor, and operator). Results: The study finds that audit procedures are structured yet operator compliance is situational. Three root causes are identified: excessive production targets, limited operator awareness of work-step consequences, and a QC-operator quality perception gap. CAPA actions are executed but lack verification mechanisms, allowing recurring defects. Novelty: Quality improvement demands transformed audit practices, closed CAPA cycles, and quality-driven incentive systems.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze and obtain empirical evidence regarding the influence of intellectual capital, technology, and growth opportunities on firm value in technology sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Furthermore, this study also aims to examine the role of Good Corporate Governance as a moderating variable in the relationship between intellectual capital, technology, and growth opportunities on firm value. Method: This is a quantitative study with an explanatory approach. The population in this study was all 40 technology companies listed on the IDX during the 2021–2024 period. The data analysis technique used in this study was Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Results: The results show that all independent variables, namely intellectual capital, technology, and growth opportunities, have a positive and significant influence on firm value. Among these three variables, growth opportunities are proven to have the most dominant influence in increasing firm value, indicating that growth prospects are a primary consideration for investors in assessing companies. Furthermore, Good Corporate Governance not only has a direct influence on firm value but also acts as a moderating variable that strengthens the relationship between intellectual capital, technology, and growth opportunities on firm value. This confirms that good corporate governance can optimize the use of a company's strategic resources, thereby creating greater value. Novelty: Thus, this study strengthens the integration of theories such as Resource-Based Theory and Knowledge-Based View in explaining the determinants of firm value.

Abstract

Objective: The purpose of this study is to describe the current situation of economic diversification in Iraq and explore the role of non-oil sectors in economic activity, in addition to identifying the main needs for developing the role of non-oil sectors to achieve sustainable economic growth in the years 2020-2025. Method: In this study, a descriptive analytical method is used to analyze the contribution of economic sectors to Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the export structure, the public revenues structure, and public investment expenditure structure. These indicators are used to evaluate the state of economic diversification and the key challenges that pose obstacles to economic diversification. Results: The results demonstrate that the structure of the Iraqi economy, despite the relative improvement in some non-oil sectors in the study period, remained dominated by the oil sector. The results further indicate that the limited contribution of non-oil exports and public revenues, together with the inefficient allocation of investments, continue to constitute major obstacles to achieving effective economic diversification. Novelty: The study concludes that the success of economic diversification programs requires the development of the agricultural, industrial, and service sectors, the improvement of the investment environment, the strengthening of the private sector's role, and the implementation of financial and institutional reforms that support sustainable economic development.
