Abstract

Objective: This study investigates the influence of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) scores, carbon emission intensity, and green investment on firm value in response to increasing climate change pressures and the growing importance of sustainability in investment decisions. Method: A quantitative approach was employed using purposive sampling on companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange that reported ESG values from 2021 to 2024, with data analyzed through multiple linear regression. Results: The findings indicate that ESG scores significantly enhance firm value, demonstrating the importance of effective environmental, social, and governance management. Carbon emission intensity also affects firm value, suggesting that emission levels serve as indicators of environmental performance and sustainability risk perceptions. Furthermore, green investment shows a measurable impact on firm value, emphasizing the need for strategic allocation of sustainability-related capital to balance both short- and long-term financial outcomes. Novelty: This study provides empirical evidence from the Indonesian market on the combined effects of ESG performance, carbon emission intensity, and green investment on firm value, offering new insights into how sustainability dimensions shape corporate valuation in emerging economies

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the influence of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), financial reporting quality, and audit quality on investment efficiency and firm value among publicly listed companies in Indonesia. Method: Using a quantitative research design, the study examines 86 non-financial and non-insurance firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange over the 2017–2023 period, selected through purposive sampling. Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted using SPSS to evaluate the relationships among the variables. Results: The findings indicate that ESG does not significantly affect investment efficiency, whereas both financial reporting quality and audit quality have significant positive effects on investment efficiency. Additionally, ESG and financial reporting quality are shown to have no significant effect on firm value, while audit quality significantly enhances firm value. Novelty: This study contributes to the literature by simultaneously evaluating financial and non-financial determinants of investment efficiency and firm value within an emerging market context, providing empirical evidence that audit quality plays a more influential role than ESG performance or reporting quality in shaping firm value in Indonesia.

However, the effectiveness of competency-based training programs is less effective because they are not carried out directly, lack of time for implementation, inadequate facilities and infrastructure. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of competency-based training programs in efforts to overcome unemployment and the factors that influence it. Method: This research method uses descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques namely interviews, observation and documentation. Then the withdrawal of informants by purposive sampling amounted to 16 people. After the data is collected, it is then analyzed using techniques including data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions, and testing the credibility of the data including extending observations, increasing dedication in research, triangulation, using reference language, member check. Results: The results of this study indicate that the effectiveness of competency-based training programs in efforts to tackle unemployment at the Amuntai Vocational Training Center (BLK) in Hulu Sungai Utara District is less effective. This can be seen from: The indicators of socialization of the training program have not been effective. Indicators of the implementation of the training program have not been effective. Indicators of availability of training funds have not been effective. Indicators of the availability of training facilities and infrastructure have not been effective. The quality indicators for alumni training participants have not been effective. Factors influencing the effectiveness of competency-based training programs in efforts to tackle unemployment at the Amuntai Vocational Training Center (BLK) in Hulu Sungai Utara, namely: lack of training funds, limited job training. Novelty: To increase the effectiveness of competency-based training programs in efforts to tackle unemployment, it is suggested to the Amuntai Vocational Training Center (BLK) to carry out training program socialization directly to the community, extend the training program implementation time in each existing department, improve facilities and infrastructure supporting training programs, increasing the discipline of competency-based training participants at the Amuntai Vocational Training Center (BLK).

Abstract

Objective: This study analyzes the effectiveness of implementing the “Teman Suka Beste” innovation (an acronym for Sistem Layanan Surat Keterangan Bebas Temuan or Clear-of-Audit-Findings Certificate Service System) by the Regional Inspectorate of Balangan Regency. The research focuses on evaluating the achievement of innovation goals in enhancing the efficiency, transparency, and accountability of services provided to Civil Servants (ASN). Method: The research employs a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected from official documentation, institutional websites, and media reports regarding program socialization. Results: The results indicate that “Teman Suka Beste” has successfully transformed the service from a convoluted conventional model into an online system that streamlines bureaucracy and reduces processing time, with a completion target of one day. This innovation aligns with the new paradigm of the Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP) as a provider of quality assurance and a consulting partner. The primary challenges identified include the need for continuous socialization and integration with other internal oversight systems, such as the Hawasi application. Novelty: “Teman Suka Beste” represents an effective breakthrough that supports the acceleration of bureaucratic reform and good governance at the regional level through the transformation of the Clear-of-Audit-Findings Certificate service into a streamlined digital system.

Abstract

Objective: This study investigates the impacts of both supply chain disruption and customs friction on import inflation in Iraq during the monthly period 2016-2025, as an asymmetric response. Method: The study builds three fundamental indicators: import price inflation, disruptions to supply chain, customs friction. An import price inflation index is calculated using the monthly log difference of import unit values, and the composite indices for supply chain disruptions and customs frictions are based on shipping and customs-related indices. The paper uses the nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag model methodologically to account for the nonlinearity in both the short-term and longer-term passage of logistical and customs shocks through import prices. Results: The bounds test results suggest a stable long-run relationship between the variables. Positive supply chain disruptions and positive customs frictions have a larger positive effect on import price inflation than negative changes to the two components have a negative effect. The error correction coefficient is negative and statistically significant, which means that the economy is indeed converging towards the long-run equilibrium, following the short-run shocks. All the diagnostic tests show no serial correlation, heteroskedasticity, ARCH effects, normally distributed residuals, correct functional form, and stable parameters. Novelty: The results indicate that the inflationary pressures in Iraq are not solely imposed by monetary and exchange-rate factors but also arise due to logistical constraints and inefficiencies in customs procedures.
