Abstract

Financial technology or fintech is used extensively in evaluation of the creditworthiness of a business or organization. The primary problem faced by small and medium enterprises is obtaining loan for starting or improving their business, due to lack of hard information and good repute. Sources for hard information are historic data like audited balance sheets, forecasts in theform of budgets and cash flow, ratings given by credit rating companies, analysis of ratios, capital marketization, share prices and many more benchmarks. Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) face the problem of information asymmetry. In other words, it is the analysis of the ability of a company to honor its financial obligations. The in thing in today’s world is “big data”.The credit rating companies have experienced a sea change. Numerus data is collected every second from various sources, social media sites, online purchases, off-line purchases. The emerging era of credit analysis is based on consumer behavior, the likes and dislikes one expresses on social media sites to the analysis on one’s preference for the products they purchase,to the emotions one expresses, everything is recorded through data “Big Data”. Each and everything are accessible within minutes, to know whether a person is worthy of credit or not. All these are studied through complicated mathematical computations to analyze sequences of information within an ocean of data. These credit scorings can be provided within no time and are equally cost efficient, but it is also intruding to one’s privacy. The study is on how effective is Big Data for credit analysis.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of banking competition in increasing national income through the transmission mechanism of monetary policy credit channel. The dependent variable in this study is gross domestic product (GDP), while the independent variables is BI rate, credit interest rates, banking competition, and lending. This study uses the Vector Autogressive (VAR)method, but because it does not pass the cointegration test, the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) method is used instead which is part of the Vector Autogressive (VAR) method. By using banking CR4 (concentration ratio of 4 large banks) as a measure of banking competition, it shows that increasing CR4 will reduce banking competition, and reduce investment credit. Investmentcredit is the dominant variable in influencing the National Income variable.

The method used is the critical analysis based mainly on some sources of information, analysis of results of USMC-TEMEC, and the strategic examination of its challenges and opportunities for SMEs. Abstract

Covid-19’s pandemic hit hard most businesses and also impacts micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and they are pushed to be more innovative to survive in uncertain conditions by developing businesses in sustainable ways. This research investigates the business strategies and sustainability of MSMEs in a fragile situation in which they are no plan for disaster risk management. We operate survey methods and structured interviews to obtain primary responses from the owner of MSME's business. The result shows that MSMEs in Indonesia are relatively adaptable in restructuring their business model to anticipate unpredictable external factors even though they find it quite challenging to maintain overhead costs and refocus their business direction. MSMEs are also encouraged to be more innovative by exploring new market segments, developing new products, redesigning innovative product packaging, and promoting products or services with relevant promotion channels. The biggest challenge businesses face during the pandemic is how to stay persistently and creatively requires business owners to modify their business models optimistically. Some business owners radically change their business models to survive. This study will also highlight five business profiles used as case studies in the areas of investigation to look at the ways they struggle during difficult times.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the perception of Bandung's community in implementing the smart environment (SE) concept. To measure the SE, the first step was to identify the city’s potential through observation, followed by a survey to analyze what indicators play a major role, and which SE dimensions need improvement. In this case, government policies are needed to invite the public to expedite the realization of a SE. This research used a mixed-method (quantitative and qualitative). The data were processed using SPSS and LISREL analysis tools using structural equation modeling (SEM). The testing was based on the theory of first-order confirmatory factor analysis and second-order confirmatory factor analysis. To support this quantitative data, the researchers conducted interviews with stakeholders to obtain data on the policies that have been carried out. The SE variable has 3 dimensions that have standardized factor loading which explains that all dimensions are meaningful and significant (valid), namely population density (0.51), environmental management - infrastructure (0.99), and the role of the community in environmental management (0.72). The reliability has been met with the value indicated by CR (0.80) and AVE (0.59).

Abstract

This study aims to find empirical evidence of the role of industry type in moderating the effect ofthe sustainability report disclosure on firm value. This study uses panel data regression analysisof 41 non-financial sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) andconsistently published annual and sustainability reports from 2018 to 2020. the findings showthat sustainability report disclosure, economic disclosure, and environmental disclosure do notsignificantly affect firm value. In contrast, social disclosure has a significant positive effect on firmvalue. In the other case, industry type only strengthens the effect of economic, environmental, and social disclosure on firm value. Overall, it shows that management thinks investing in environmental or publishing sustainability reports could bring some economic issues, which will lover the market value. High-profile companies tend to be more concerned about disclosing their sustainability performance because they have more responsibility for their business process. This study provides insight into the effect of industry type in moderating the relationship between sustainability report disclosure and firm value, which has not been widely studied, especially in Indonesia. Regulators can consider the results of this study regarding the sustainability reports disclosure.
