Abstract

Menstrual problems pose many physical, socio-cultural and economic challenges that may hinder life activities, especially the ability to go to school, college, practicum or participate in physical activities. The role of laboratories is very important in the development of science which is growing rapidly in universities today. This research revealed that 9 out of 10 respondents with severe dysmenorrhea had their practical activities disrupted. Health vocational students in Indonesia are required to attend 100% of practicums with a composition of 60% practice during lectures. Students must make up practical work hours when they are absent for any reason. This condition of course makes the practicum ineffective and even increases the risk of work accidents. The aim of this research is to determine whether there is a relationship between dysmenorrhea and disruption of practical activities in the laboratory. This research is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach using a cross-sectional design by measuring activity disorders and the severity of dysmenorrhea as assessed using VMSS. The sampling technique in this research used purposive sampling with a total sample of 311 students. The inclusion criteria were being unmarried, having menstruated for at least 1-2 years and experiencing primary dysmenorrhea. This research was conducted at the Yogyakarta Ministry of Health Health Polytechnic Midwifery Laboratory in October 2022. The data analysis used was the Fisher exact test with a p value of 0.001 and OR 4.2. This shows that there is a significant relationship between dysmenorrhea and disruption of practical activities in the laboratory.

Abstract

Educational laboratories are a very important supporting facility for the continuity of education in Vocational Higher Education. School laboratory management activities in the Environmental Health Department of the Yogyakarta Ministry of Health Polytechnic are all forms of recording items and activities that occur in the laboratory. Considering the importance of laboratory functions, good laboratory management is an absolute necessity. This allows schools to more easily obtain real data on the condition of goods and activities in the laboratory. The aim of this research is to help make things easier for laboratory managers, especially inventory data, equipment conditions, borrowing and returning equipment, laboratory schedules, laboratory rules and monitoring records of laboratory use activities. The method used is ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development & Implementation and Evaluation), starting from preliminary studies, system creation and system testing to produce a web-based laboratory management information system, because compared to paper-based, laboratory management activities use a web-based information system. The web is considered more efficient to implement, because with the web all forms of recording can be easily done and if data is needed, all authorized parties can easily obtain the data. It is hoped that the use of a website-based laboratory information system will help optimize management in monitoring laboratory activities, borrowing equipment, using materials and laboratory data.

Abstract

Background: The importance of graduates' competence in providing immunizations to babies, the problem of unavailability of vaccines in the laboratory, and the task of educational staff in supporting smooth practice in the laboratory, the author took the initiative to create a Mock Basic Routine Immunization Vaccine (VIRDAN) media to become an effective learning medium in the Neonate, Infant, and Toddler Midwifery Care course in 2019. This VIRDAN media has been produced in limited quantities but has never been tested for learning neonate, infant, and toddler obstetric care courses. Purpose: Knowing the effectiveness of VIRDAN media in increasing student knowledge. Method: This study is an experimental study with a randomized pre post test with control group design conducted with direct observation on students. Results: There was a significant difference in student practicum test scores in the experimental group and control class. Obtained t table from db 44 at a significance level of 5% (0.05) is 1.680. So the value of t counts > t of the table (11.405 > 1.680) and the significance value is less than 0.05 (p = 0.000 < 0.05). Conclusion: VIRDAN as a medium capable of improving the skills of students better, the value of the experimental group is significantly better.

Abstract

Errors in estimating the size of the portion of food consumed will affect the quality of the estimate and result in inaccurate amounts of nutrients consumed by a person. One of the teaching aids in delivering nutrition education material is food ingredients or artificial food (food models). Visualization of balanced nutrition messages that display food models displaying food and drink offerings at each meal time needs to be socialized so that it becomes a guide for people's eating. The aim of this research is to create a food storage box model that is practical and efficient for use with a model of food contents arranged like a tumpeng/food pyramid. This research method is quantitative research with a research and development (R&D) design. This method was chosen to produce a particular product and test the effectiveness of the product starting with: 1). Background data collection, 2). Product manufacturing planning, 3). Make a product draft, 4). Initial trials, 5). Revision of product trials, 6) Product implementation tests, 7). Improvement final product refinement 8). Product socialization and implementation. Quantitative data on product feasibility is shown in the presentation of feasibility test results. Research Results: To determine the feasibility of using this box, the researcher asked the subject 5 questions: 1). 87.5% of subjects considered the shape/design of the box to be appropriate, 2). How to open the box 95.8% of subjects rated it as feasible, 3). How to close the box 95.8% of subjects rated it as feasible, 4). How to use the food in a box model. 95.8% of subjects rated it as feasible and 5). The usefulness of the box was rated as 100% feasible by the subjects. The conclusion of the research is that from the 5 questions asked by the researchers, the presentation of the suitability assessment of the box is >80%, so it can be concluded that this box is suitable for use as a media for learning and promoting nutrition.

Abstract

Midwifery practice has contributed to the reduction of maternal and child mortality by applying biomedical sciences, one of which is anatomy. Anatomy education learning usually uses cadavers, models, and books, but they are considered less effective. This study aims to develop applications based on augmented reality for learning media on the female reproductive system. This research was a research & development research and uses a waterfall application development model to get applications for learning media. The research and development steps carried out in the research included: needs analysis, design and implementation. The research was conducted at the Department of Midwifery, Poltekkes Kemenkes Yogyakarta in 2021. Based on a needs analysis, interactive learning media were developed, one of which was using Augmented Reality technology. The development design uses Unidentified Modelling Language (UML) i.e. use case diagram, class diagram, and sequence diagram. Development implementation in the form of markers, 3D animation, and application implementation. The Augmented Reality application for the Female Reproductive System can be used for learning and requires usability testing.
