Abstract

Abstract: This study examines the implementation of Speed Reading and Extensive Reading activities to improve students’ reading fluency of students. Using a Classroom Action Research, Speed Reading and Extensive Reading activities was applied in 2 cycles with 2 x 45 minutes per week. Speed Reading and Extensive Reading activities were taught using three phase techniques: Pre-Reading, Whilst-Reading, and Post-Reading. Speed Reading was implemented through some techniques including scanning, skimming, and repeated reading. Meanwhile, Extensive Reading was applied by asking students to read a text at home. Assessment was conducted by giving a reading fluency test after each cycle to check the students’ progress. The other data: observation checklist, field notes, and questionnaire were utilized to complete the study. The result of the study indicated that Speed Reading and Extensive Reading activities benefited students by making them aware of using certain strategy to understand the meaning of text quickly. In the end of cycle 2, it was found that most of the students were successful to become fluent readers. In addition, students’ confidence increased and Speed Reading and Extensive Reading encouraged a positive attitude towards reading fluency.Key Words: speed reading, extensive reading, reading fluency Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian menginvestigasi penggunaan kegiatan Speed Reading dan Extensive Reading untuk meningkatkan kelancaran membaca siswa. Speed Reading dan Extensive Reading dilaksanakan dalam penelitian tindakan kelas terdiri 2 siklus dengan jangka waktu 2x45 menit per minggu. Speed Reading dan Extensive Reading diajarkan dengan teknik tiga tahap: pre-reading, whilst reading dan post-reading. Speed Reading dilaksanakan melalui beberapa teknik adalah scanning, skimming dan membaca berulang. Extensive Reading diaplikasikan dengan meminta siswa membaca sebuah teks di rumah. Penilaian dengan memberikan tes kelancaran membaca setelah masing-masing siklus selesai dilaksanakan untuk memeriksa perkembangan siswa. Data lain didapat dari: observasi, catatan lapangan, dan kuisioner untuk melengkapi hasil data utama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Speed Reading dan Extensive Reading bermanfaat bagi siswa untuk memahami arti teks dengan cepat. Pada akhir siklus 2 sebagian besar siswa berhasil menjadi pembaca lancar, kepercayaan diri siswa meningkat, dan penggunaan Speed Reading dan Extensive Reading memberi dampak positif terhadap perilaku siswa dalam kegiatan membaca lancar.Kata kunci: speed reading, extensive reading, membaca lancar

Abstract

Peningkatan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis dan Kreatif Siswa Melalui Model Pemerolehan KonsepAbstract: The purpose of this research was to describe the feasibility model of acquisition in learning biology concepts to improve critical thinking skills and creative students of class VII. Through action research method using a data collection instrument observation sheet critical thinking skills and creative students, observation sheets enforceability of learning, validation assessment sheets and field notes, research findings indicate that the critical thinking skills of students of class VII in Learning Biology increased through the implementation of the model concept acquisition.Key Words: critical thinking, creative thinking, concept acquisition models Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan model pemerolehan konsep dalam pembelajaran biologi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif siswa kelas VII. Melalui metode penelitian tindakan kelas dengan menggunakan instrumen pengumpulan data berupa lembar observasi kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif siswa, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, lembar penilaian validasi dan catatan lapangan. Abstract

Faktor-faktor yang Mempengaruhi Rendahnya Minat Masyarakat terhadap SMP NegeriAbstract: The purpose of the study was to determine the factors that affect the low interest Tiong Keranjik villagers to SMP Negeri 3 Belimbing Hulu. The research method uses a quantitative approach, analysis of data using exploratory factor analysis and descriptive analysis. The result was the discovery of five influential factors are: situation school factor, the principal, the attention, the schools, and discipline. The most dominant factor affecting low public interest in the Junior High School is a situation school factor. Key Words: interest, community, Tiong Keranjik, junior high school Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi rendahnya minat masyarakat Tiong Keranjik terhadap SMP Negeri 3 Belimbing Hulu. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, analisis data menggunakan analisis faktor eksploratori dan analisis deskriptif. Hasilnya adalah ditemukannya lima faktor yang berpengaruh yaitu: faktor keadaan sekolah, kepala sekolah, perhatian, letak sekolah, dan kedisiplinan. Faktor yang paling dominan mempengaruhi rendahnya minat masyarakat terhadap SMP Negeri adalah faktor keadaan sekolah. Kata kunci: minat, masyarakat, Tiong Keranjik, SMP

Abstract

Menurunkan Stres Akademik Siswa dengan Menggunakan Teknik Self-InstructionAbstract: The purpose of this study was to determine: 1) a decrease in students’ academic stress after intervention with self-instruction techniques; 2) increase the ability of students before and af-ter the intervention in changing the thoughts, feelings, and physical Events negative when: a) opinion conveying; b) gather information; and c) take action. Subjects in this study amounted to 3 people, which is selected by purposive. Design studies using multiple treatments with ABCD type. Data was collected using observation, interviews, and job sheets. The data obtained is analyzed using graphic visual analysis and descriptive analysis. The results of the study are: in general self-instruction techniques can lower academic stress, and in particular the technique can improve: 1) expression in subjects 1 and 3 subjects after entering the second intervention phase (B). While the subject of 2 may indicate a change, and stable after being on the third intervention phase (D); 2) collect information on the subject since the middle third second intervention (C); and 3) act positively on the subject 1 and subject 2 since entering the first intervention phase (B), while three new subjects may indicate a change, and stable in the mid-third intervention (D).Key Words: academic stress, self-instruction techniques Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: 1) penurunan stres akademik siswa setelah dilakukan intervensi dengan teknik self-instruction; 2) peningkatan kemampuan siswa sebelum dan sesudah intervensi dalam merubah pikiran, perasaan, dan kodisi fisik yang negatif ketika: a) menyampaikan pendapat; b) mengumpulkan informasi; dan c) melakukan tindakan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 3 orang, yang dipilih dengan cara Purposive. Desain penelitian menggunakan multiple treatment dengan tipe A-B-C-D. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan: observasi, wawancara, dan lembar tugas, kemudian data yang diperoleh dianalisa dengan menggunakan analisa visual grafis dan analisa deskriptif. Hasil penelitian adalah secara umum teknik self-instruction dapat menurunkan stres akademik, dan secara khusus teknik ini dapat meningkatkan kemampuan: 1) menyampaikan pendapat pada subjek 1 dan subjek 3 setelah memasuki tahap intervensi kedua (B). Sedangkan subjek 2 dapat menunjukkan perubahan, dan stabil setelah berada pada tahap intervensi ketiga (D);  2) mengumpulkan informasi pada ketiga subjek sejak pertengahan intervensi kedua (C); dan 3) bertindak positif pada subjek 1 dan subjek 2 sejak memasuki tahap intervensi pertama (B), sedangkan subjek 3 baru dapat menunjukkan perubahan, dan stabil pada pertengahan intervensi ketiga (D).  Kata kunci: stres akademik, teknik self-instruction

Abstract

Peningkatan Keaktifan, Kreativitas dan Prestasi Belajar melalui Pembelajaran Tematik dengan Media Bervariasi pada Siswa SDAbstract: This study aims to describe the implementation, improved student learning, increased activeness, creativity, and student achievement through thematic learning with varied media. This research is a classroom action research. Implementation of the actions carried out in 2 cycles, and each cycle carried out for 4 days. Subjects were third grade students of SDN Pisangcandi 4 Malang, in the first semester of the school year 2013/2014. Data was collected through observation, field notes, interviews, documentation, and testing. The results showed the process and student achievement is increased. Activeness, creativity, student achievement is increased in the cycle 2 than the cycle 1.Key Words: thematic learning, varied media, increased activeness, creativity, learning achievement Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan, peningkatan proses belajar siswa, peningkatan keaktifan, kreativitas, dan prestasi belajar siswa melalui pembelajaran tematik dengan media bervariasi. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Pelaksanaan tindakan dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus, dan tiap siklusnya dilaksanakan selama 4 hari. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas III SDN Pisangcandi 4 Kota Malang, pada semeser ganjil  tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik observasi, catatan lapangan, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses dan prestasi belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan. Keaktifan, kreativitas, prestasi siswa lebih meningkat di siklus II daripada siklus I.Kata kunci: pembelajaran tematik, media bervariasi, peningkatan keaktifan, kreativitas, prestasi belajar

Abstract

Aplikasi Kompetensi Kewirausahaan Kepala Sekolah dalam Mengelola Praktik Kerja Industri pada Sekolah Menengah KejuruanAbstract: This study aimed to describe and explain the motives, procedure, approach, control and benefit applications entrepreneurial competencies of vocational high school headmaster. This study uses a qualitative approach, and multi cases design. The constant comparative method is used for the data analysis. The application motives consists of 12 items, the application procedure consists of 5 steps, a cooperative approach which consists of three items, controlling application that consists of 4 points, and the benefits of the application consists of 4 types, are the result of this study. These findings were support and complement the related theories and policies with vocational high schools.Key Words: entrepreneurship competence of headmaster, practice of industrial work, vocational schools Abstrak: Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan motif, prosedur, pendekatan, kontrol, dan manfaat aplikasi kompetensi kewirausahaan kepala sekolah menengah kejuruan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan desain multikasus. Untuk analisis data, digunakan metode komparatif konstan. Hasil penelitian adalah motif aplikasi terdiri dari 12 butir, prosedur aplikasi terdiri dari 5 langkah, pendekatan kooperatif terdiri 3 butir, kontrol aplikasi terdiri dari 4 hal, dan manfaat aplikasi terdiri dari 4 tipe. Penemuan ini mendukung dan melengkapi teori-teori yang terkait dengan kebijakan sekolah menengah kejuruan.Kata kunci: kompetensi kewirausahaan kepala sekolah, praktik kerja industri, sekolah menengah kejuruan

Abstract

Nilai Keislaman dalam Novel Syahadat Cinta Karya Taufiqurrahman Al-AzizyAbstract: This study aimed to examine the Islamic values contained in the Syahadat Cinta novel by Taufiqurrahman Al-Azizy. The focus of this study were (1) the value of faith; (2) the value obedient worship; and (3) the value of good moral. Metode used in this research is interpretitif. The results of the study include three things. First, research the value of faith, are (1) the value of faith in God; (2) Faith in angels; (3) Faith in the Book of Allah; (4) Faith in the prophets and apostles; (5) Faith in the end; (6) Faith in the qada and qadar. Secondly, the research value of obedient worship are: (1) obey thaharah worship; (2) obey praying; (3) obey zakat; (4) obey the fasting; (5) devout hajj. Third, research on the value of good moral are (1) character to God; (2) character to yourself; (3) character to the family; (4) character to the neighbors and the community; and (5) character to the environment. The value of much revealed is the value of faith in God because this novel tells the story of the faith of a someone who emigrated from the wrong path toward the right path.Key Words: islamic values, novel Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti nilai keislaman yang terdapat dalam novel Syahadat Cinta karya Taufiqurrahman Al-Azizy. Fokus penelitian ini adalah (1) nilai keimanan; (2) nilai ketaatibadahan; dan (3) nilai keakhlakmuliaan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian  ini adalah penelitian interpretitif. Hasil penelitian mencakup tiga hal. Pertama, penelitian nilai keimanan yaitu (1) nilai iman kepada Allah; (2) iman kepada malaikat; (3) iman kepada kitab Allah; (4) iman kepada nabi dan rasul;  (5) iman kepada hari akhir; (6) iman kepada qada dan qadar.  Kedua, penelitian nilai ketaatibadahan  yaitu (1) taat ibadah thaharah; (2) taat ibadah shalat; (3) taat ibadah zakat; (4) taat ibadah puasa; (5) taat ibadah haji . Ketiga, penelitian terhadap nilai keakhlakmuliaan yaitu (1) akhlak kepada Allah; (2) akhlak kepada diri sendiri; (3) akhlak kepada keluarga; (4) akhlak kepada tetangga dan masyarakat; dan (5) akhlak kepada lingkungan. Nilai yang banyak diungkap adalah nilai keimanan kepada Allah karena novel ini mengisahkan jalan keimanan seorang tokoh yang berhijrah dari jalan yang salah menuju jalan yang benar. Abstract

Pengintegrasian Pendidikan Karakter dalam Pembelajaran IPS Melalui Kajian Tembang MacapatAbstract: The research to describe how the implementation of character education which integrated by teaching process of IPS by local culture. The focus of this research are: (1) the form of the integration of character education in social studies learning through song Macapat study, (2) the value of the characters contained in the text of the song Macapat, (3) the implementation of the value of the character in the song Macapat daily life of students. This study uses a qualitative descriptive case study. Techniques used to collect the data: (1) interviews, (2) observation, (3) documentation. The data have been obtained and tested again using a triangulation technique that consists of triangulation methods, sources and theories as well as member check (checking membership).The result of these researches: (1) the integration of character education in learning of social studies subject by analyzing of Macapat song done in three time meetings and three steps, these was planning, implementing and evaluating. Every step was include character value religious, responsibility and honest, (2) Macapat song had so many character value which could be internalized in the development of student education. (3) the implementation of character values of Macapat song in student daily life had not been achieved the maximum result yet.Key Words: character education, learning of IPS, macapat song Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penerapan pendidikan karakter yang diintegrasikan dalam proses belajar mengajar (PBM) IPS melalui budaya lokal. Fokus penelitian ini adalah: (1) bentuk pengintegrasian pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran IPS melalui kajian tembang Macapat, (2) nilai karakter yang terkandung di dalam teks tembang Macapat, (3) implementasi nilai karakter tembang Macapat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulkan datanya adalah: (1) wawancara, (2) observasi, (3) dokumentasi. Data yang telah diperoleh diuji lagi dengan menggunakan teknik triangulasi yang terdiri dari triangulasi metode, sumber, dan teori serta member check (pengecekan keanggotaan). Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut. (1) Pengintegrasian pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran IPS melalui kajian tembang Macapat dilakukan dalam tiga kali pertemuan serta tiga tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. (2) Tembang Macapat mengandung banyak nilai karakter yang dapat diinternalisasikan dalam mengembangkan pendidikan karakter siswa. (3) Implementasi nilai karakter tembang Macapat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari siswa belum memberikan hasil yang maksimal.Kata kunci: pendidikan karakter, pembelajaran IPS, tembang macapat

Abstract

Transformasi Tembang Dolanan di Kabupaten TrenggalekAbstract: Dolanan song is a song sung by children while they are doing game activities. The lyric of dolanan song is part of oral folklore, as Java folk poetry that is sung by people. They are some transformations in the use and creation. This study tries to (1) describe the process of transformation of dolanan song, (2) find the pattern of transformation of dolanan song. The research is a qualitative study using etnopuitika. The data of this research are old dolanan song lyric and new dolanan song lyric. The techniques of data collection used for this study are documentation, interviews, and observation. The data analysis begin from form analysis, performance analysis, content analysis, until local colour analysis. The results are (1) the form transformation process: sound, diction,verse, stanza, and they are shown to be a form of appearance of the old songs to new songs, the comparasion of the two shapes of transformation pattern show the changer that eventually shape the form trans-formation, the content transformation process: the general meaning and messages from both old song and new song are coveyed, the comparasion of two shapes of transformation pattern show the changer that eventually shape the content transformation; (2) the pattern of form transformation: strengthening, continuing, modifying, deviating, and rejecting, the pattern of content transformation: strengthening, continuing, modifying, and deviating from convention.Key Words: transformation, dolanan song, form, content, java Abstrak:  Tembang dolanan merupakan tembang yang dinyanyikan anak-anak yang disertai kegiatan permainan. Tuturannya digolongkan sebagai karya sastra berbentuk folklor lisan, berjenis puisi rakyat Jawa yang dinyanyikan. Penggunaan dan perkembangannya, mengalami transformasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mendeskripsikan proses transformasi tembang dolanan, (2) menemukan pola transformasi tembang dolanan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif  dengan rancangan etnopuitika. Data berupa tuturan tembang lama dan baru. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui studi dokumentasi, wawancara, dan observasi. Analisis data terdiri analisis bentuk, analisis pentas sastra, analisis isi, dan analisis warna budaya lokalnya. Hasil penelitian berupa temuan (1) proses tranformasi bentuk: bunyi, diksi, larik, bait, dan bentuk penampilan tembang lama dibandingkan dengan yang baru mem-bentuk pola transformasi bentuk, proses transformasi isi: makna secara umum dan pesan tembang lama dibandingkan dengan yang baru membentuk pola transformasi isi; (2) pola transformasi bentuk: menguatkan, meneruskan, mengubah, menyimpang dan menolak, pola transformasi isi: menguatkan, meneruskan, mengubah, dan menyimpang dari konvensi. Abstract

Abstract: Drama class in its relation to education gives mental and intellectual experience in mastering English as language and culture. As an authentic material, drama class in university level should explore students’ competence by providing varied material and activities. The development of a workbook by incorporating character building aspects for drama class in Lambung Mangkurat University is seen important. The workbook is developed by following the result of need assessment and the demand of course competenceof English Department in Lambung Mangkurat University. By involving 20 students of drama class, the research is carried out by following the modified stage of development by Borg and Gall. The result of the development shows that the developed workbook can be categorized as good product from the result of quantitative data in all aspects. Therefore, the workbook can be used as one of the component in teaching in the drama class.Key Words: workbook, english drama, character building Abstrak: Kelas drama terkait dengan pendidikan memberikan pengalaman mental intelektual dalam penguasaan bahasa Inggris dari aspek kebahasaan dan budaya. Sebagai sumber otentik, kelas drama di universitas hendaknya menggali kemampuan siswa dengan memberikan ragam materi dan aktivitas. Pengembangan buku kerja dengan menggabungkan unsur pendidikan karakter bagi mahasiswa kelas drama Inggris di Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris di Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (UNLAM) adalah penting. Buku kerja ini dikembangkan berdasarkan kebutuhan siswa dan disesuaikan dengan tuntutan pokok bahasan pada kelas drama di Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris di UNLAM. Dengan melibatkan 20 siswa kelas Drama di program studi Bahasa Inggris FKIP UNLAM, penelitian pengembangan dilakukan dengan mengikuti tahapan modifikasi dari Borg & Gall. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan buku kerja yang dikembangkan dikatagorikan baik berdasarkan hasil data kuantitatif dari semua aspek. Buku kerja ini dapat dijadikan pelengkap komponen dalam pengajaran di kelas Drama.Kata kunci: buku kerja, drama bahasa Inggris, pendidikan karakter
