Abstract

Road infrastructure plays a vital role in supporting economic growth and improving accessibility, particularly in rural areas such as Karo Regency. This study aims to analyze and compare flexible pavement design methods for the construction of the Kutabangun–Kutakendit road section, specifically at STA 0+000 to STA 2+000 in Pola Tebu Village, as a means to facilitate community access and agricultural distribution. The research applies two design approaches, namely the 2017 Revised Highways Pavement Design Manual and the 1993 AASHTO Pavement Design Method, to determine the appropriate pavement thickness structure. The results show that based on the 2017 Revised Highways method, the surface layer thickness is 100 mm, the base layer is 400 mm, and the embankment fill is 175 mm, while the AASHTO 1993 method produces a surface layer thickness of 110 mm, a base layer of 230 mm, a subbase layer of 260 mm, and an embankment fill of 100 mm. These findings indicate variations in structural design between the two methods, which can be used as a reference in selecting the most suitable pavement design to ensure durability, efficiency, and optimal performance of rural road infrastructure.

Abstract

The development of road infrastructure is essential to support regional economic activities and improve accessibility, particularly in agricultural areas such as Karo Regency. This study aims to evaluate flexible pavement design for the Kutabangun–Kutakendit road section at STA 0+000 to STA 2+000 in Pola Tebu Village by applying and comparing the AASHTO 1993 method and the 2017 Revised Highways Pavement Design Manual. The analysis focuses on determining the appropriate pavement layer thickness to ensure structural performance and durability under traffic loads. The results indicate that the 2017 Revised Highways method produces a surface layer thickness of 100 mm, a base layer of 400 mm, and an embankment thickness of 175 mm, while the AASHTO 1993 method results in a surface layer thickness of 110 mm, a base layer of 230 mm, a subbase layer of 260 mm, and an embankment thickness of 100 mm. The comparison shows differences in structural composition and layer distribution between the two methods, which can be used as a technical reference in selecting an efficient and reliable pavement design to support long-term road performance and regional development.

Abstract

Road infrastructure development plays a crucial role in enhancing regional connectivity and supporting agricultural distribution in rural areas such as Karo Regency. This study aims to analyze and design flexible pavement for the Kutabangun–Kutakendit road section at STA 0+000 to STA 2+000 by comparing two widely used methods, namely the AASHTO 1993 method and the 2017 Revised Highways Pavement Design Manual. The analysis focuses on determining the optimal pavement layer thickness based on traffic load and subgrade conditions to achieve durable and efficient road performance. The results show that the 2017 Revised Highways method produces a thicker base layer and embankment, while the AASHTO 1993 method distributes thickness across surface, base, and subbase layers with different proportions. These differences highlight the variation in design approaches, where each method offers specific advantages in terms of structural strength and material efficiency. Therefore, the selection of an appropriate pavement design method should consider local conditions, construction feasibility, and long-term performance to ensure sustainable road infrastructure development.

Abstract

Flexible pavement design is a critical aspect of road infrastructure development to ensure durability, safety, and efficiency, particularly in supporting rural connectivity in regions such as Karo Regency. This study aims to conduct a performance-based comparison of flexible pavement design for the Kutabangun–Kutakendit road section at STA 0+000 to STA 2+000 using the AASHTO 1993 method and the 2017 Revised Highways Pavement Design Manual. The analysis evaluates pavement layer thickness and structural configuration in relation to expected traffic loads and subgrade conditions. The results indicate that the 2017 Revised Highways method emphasizes a thicker base layer to enhance structural strength, while the AASHTO 1993 method distributes the load across multiple layers, including surface, base, and subbase, resulting in different structural compositions. These variations reflect differing design philosophies that influence pavement performance, cost efficiency, and construction feasibility. Therefore, selecting an appropriate design method requires consideration of local conditions, material availability, and long-term performance to achieve sustainable and reliable road infrastructure development.

Abstract

Pengendalian produksi menggunakan metode First In First Out (FIFO) dan Reorder Point (ROP) terbukti efektif dalam memitigasi risiko overstock dan understock. Strategi optimalisasi persediaan dilakukan melalui peningkatan volume penjualan pada produk kopi yang memiliki stok berlebih untuk menjaga perputaran inventaris.
