Abstract

Loading and hauling operations strongly influence equipment utilization, production efficiency, and operating cost in open-pit mining. Although simulation, dispatch optimization, truck-shovel allocation, and Double Side Loading (DSL) have improved fleet performance, field evidence for Drive-by Loading (DBL) a continuous forward truck-approach strategy that targets the positioning micro-cycle at the loading point remains limited. This study evaluates DBL in an open-pit coal mine in South Kalimantan, Indonesia, using a quantitative before-and-after design involving two excavator classes and 100–110-ton rigid dump trucks. The screened dataset comprised 1,440 valid loading cycles (720 per condition). Cycle-level records were used for descriptive analysis and aggregated into 28 matched shift-level analysis blocks for inferential testing. Matching considered excavator–truck configuration, operator team and shift type, haul-distance category, material domain, production target, and trafficable weather and road conditions. Records with incomplete or non-chronological event timestamps or externally interrupted cycles were excluded without imputation. Average spotting time decreased from 30 s to 17 s (−43.3%), loading cycle time decreased from 167 s to 152 s (−9.0%), and excavator productivity increased from 859 BCM/h to 1,120 BCM/h (+30.4%). Paired tests on the 28 matched blocks produced df = 27 and confirmed significant improvements in spotting time and productivity (p < 0.001). The scientific contribution is field-based, statistically validated evidence linking a redesigned truck-approach sequence to both micro-cycle time and excavator productivity. DBL therefore offers a practical, low-capital operational option where mine geometry, traffic control, and safety conditions permit a continuous forward approach.

Abstract

Professional associations require integrated information systems to improve administrative efficiency and support digital transformation. However, the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) Bekasi City still manages membership administration, membership fee payments, organizational information dissemination, and hotel occupancy reporting through separate and predominantly manual processes, resulting in inefficient data management and delayed administrative services. This study aims to develop an integrated web-based Partnership Management Information System to streamline administrative processes and enhance organizational services. The project was governed using the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) framework for initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing, while the Waterfall model guided sequential software development. Laravel was employed as the web application framework, MySQL as the database management system, Bootstrap for the user interface, and the Midtrans payment gateway for digital membership fee transactions. Functional evaluation was conducted through User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with the PHRI Bekasi City management board, while technical performance was evaluated using Google PageSpeed Insights. The developed system successfully integrated membership management, digital membership cards, digital payment processing, organizational information management, and hotel occupancy reporting into a single platform. UAT results showed very good scores across functionality (93%), performance (92.5%), interface (91%), and efficiency (97%), while Performance Testing indicated strong results on desktop and good results on mobile devices. These findings demonstrate that the proposed system effectively supports the digital transformation of partnership management and provides a practical reference for implementing integrated information systems in similar professional organizations.

Abstract

The rapid growth of e-commerce in Indonesia has intensified competition among platforms to deliver superior usability and user experience. Comparative studies that simultaneously evaluate the three major pure e-commerce platforms Shopee, Tokopedia, and Lazada by integrating the System Usability Scale (SUS) and the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) remain limited, particularly with rigorous statistical testing and explicit discussion of design-related explanations. This study aims to analyze and compare the usability and user experience of these applications based on users’ perceptions and to generate diagnostic insights for interface improvement. A quantitative approach was employed using SUS and UEQ questionnaires distributed to 105 respondents who had experience using all three platforms and had completed at least one transaction within the last three months. SUS data were analyzed using Acceptability Range, Grade Scale, and Adjective Rating, while UEQ data were analyzed with the official UEQ Data Analysis Tool across six dimensions. Paired comparisons were performed with both Wilcoxon signed-rank tests and paired t-tests. The results indicate that Shopee achieved a SUS score of 76.81 (Acceptable, Grade B, Good), while Tokopedia scored 66.81 and Lazada 59.19 (both Marginal, Grade D, Poor). Differences among all pairs were statistically significant (p < 0.001). Shopee also obtained the highest mean scores across all six UEQ dimensions. The findings demonstrate that Shopee currently delivers the superior combined usability and user experience among the three platforms, while also revealing that all three applications still fall short of the higher UEQ benchmark categories, indicating clear opportunities for design refinement.
