Abstract

The objectiveofproducinga low energydrying machineistohelpchipsindustriesin increasingtheirproductivifybyshorteningthe dryingtime. Up tonowtheyuse heat of sunlight to drythechips.Thisprocessis rime consumingarrdwhy the dry seasoncolnes,theprocess isdelayed.It decreases thequalityof chips. fhe drying machineproduceduses firewoodplacedin a furnaceas theheat source.Theheatis then flown throughpipesintothedrying room, where wetchips areplaced. ,,;Theroomhasalengthof 1.2 m, a heightofI m and a widthot-I m. Ithas twodoors and equippedwith a thermometer. Below the room,there is a furnace havingcapacitycf6 kg f-rre woodandan oxygeninlet. The drying temperatureis 60 I kg firewoodcanproducetheheat withtemperatureof60-70oC for1.5hours.Thedryingprocessof wetchips takes about 5 hours,For that of halfdrychips, it takes2hours. Thismachinehas capacify of2.400rvetchips and 6.000halfdrychips.

Abstract

The  PPM   FT  UNY  team   shall  implements   the  IPTEKS   in  actrvrty  of  Strategi Planning   Worshop   for  focusing   to  problem   sloving.  The  following   problem   points  may appear  on the  school,  namely   : school  wants  information   for  conducting   the  shool  needs analysis;  and  schoolwork   program   drawled  up  could  require  a strategic  planning   process which oriented  for school needs in field of life skills.The  purpose   of this  IPTEKS  apllication   program  is to  increase  school  headmaster ability  for  making  the  schoolwork   program  based  a strategic  planning  process.  Therefore headmasters   of  SMU  have  skills  in  areas  : (1)  The  ability  to  conduct  the  school  needs analysis;   (2) The ability to formulate  the school  vision  and mission;  (3) The ability  to draw up plans  for  school  development;   (4) The  ability  to perform  SWOT  analysis  (internal  and external   condition);   (5)  The  ability  to  formulate   the  school  objective;   (6)  The  ability  to understand  of the way to formulate  strategy.Methods    used   in   Strategic    Planning    Workshop    are   lecture,   question-answer, demonstration,   group  task,  seminar,  guidance  to  make  the  schoolwork   programs   based  a strategic  planning  process,  and  games  in outbound   training.  Learning  approaches   used  in this training  are adult education  and pratice.The result  of Strategic  Planning  Workshop  can be concludes  as follows1.  Participants   have  global  vision  in tehnology   and  strategic  issues  of  education   as formulation   and  development   prpcess  of the  schoolwork   programs   for  increasing quality  of education  in each school.2.   Participants   can  formulate   and  develop  the  schoolwork   programs   based  strategic planning  process  that oriented  for school  needs in field of life skills.3.   Participants   can develop  self-power  as headmasters   who  have the transformationalleadership   for  implement   the  schoolwork   programs  based  strategic  planning   and can operational  control  this program  integrated.Key words:    strategic  planning  -  life skill.

Abstract

The   voucher    program    entitled    "Manufacturing      Ornamental     Stone   Cutting Machine   for Small  Building  Ornament   Industries"   aims to increase  productivity   of the CY. PURBA   KRIAST A especially   in cutting  ornamental   stone  being  produced.   It also wants  to know  the  size and  productivity   of such  ornamental   stone  machine.The    steps    of   this   manufacturing      ornamental     stone    cutting    machine    areplanning,    machine    manufacturing,     and   training   for  industry   partner   workers.    The planning   step  includes   : (1) designing   machine   plan  draft,  (2) calculating   the  needed materials,   and  (3)  calculating   the  implementation    cost.   The  machine-manufacturing step  includes:    (1)  material   cutting  to  fit the  work  draft,  (2) welding,   (3) assembling, (4) electric   installation.   (5)  machine   performance    test,  and  (6)  painting.   The  training for   industry    partner    workers    consists    of   :  (1)   theory    and   speech    delivery,    (2) demonstration     of  machine    using,   and   (3)  machine    using   practice   by  the   industry partner  workers.The  result  of the voucher  program   is realization   of an ornamental   stone  cutting machine    and   skill   achievement     by  the   industry   partner   workers    in  the   machine operation.   The  ornamental   stone  cutting  machine  was made  of right-angled   iron frame sizing  80x80x7   mm,  50x50x5  mm,  and  30x30x3   mm,  combined   with  steel  plate  of 3 rnrn  thick.   The  machine   size  is  120  em  length,   60  em  width,   and   190  em  height, moved  by a  1 phase  electric   motor  power   SEM  of  1 HP  and  rotation   speed  of  2800RPM.   The  cooling   system   uses  water  moved   by  an  aquarium   pump.   The  machine performance    and  productivity   especially   for  cutting  straight   forms  has  speed    of 8 to10 times  faster  compared   with  manual  cutting  having  been  done  lip till now.Key words:   stone cutting  machine,  and  small ornamental   stone industry.

Abstract

The problems of the furniture industry target are about the effectiveness  of the use of wood chisel and bit machine because it hasn't fix machine bench for wood laying and the machine position that not ergonomic.  These  problems make. setting.. time longer, wood position unstable because of unfix bench, the vice easy to broken because  of  instability  of  wood,  imprecision  of  hole  position,  and  the  exhausted operator because of the machine position.The  main  goal of this  voucher  program  is to modify wood  chisel  and  bit machine for preparing the connection between pin and its hole at U.O ..TANGGUH, small scale furniture industry, so that productivity and quality  of the furniture will be improved. For mass production, every step must be done perfectly and carefully  so that every part can be connected  and constructed  correctly.  Because of the reason. above  wood  and  chisel  machine  that  strong,  easy  to  operate.: easy  to  lay  wood accurately, and ergonomic must be developed.                                   ,Wood and chisel machine that be developed has 220 cm length and 30 ernwidth of its bench so that the wood with 200 em length or 'more can be supported accurately  especially  at its parallel position to the machine vice. For operating  the machine easily, the machine bench is made approximately  50 em height, so that the operator  with  sit down  position  can operate  the  machine  without  exhausted.  The wood 'chisel and bit machine can make the hole approximately 7 em depth and 1 ern width.,   The result of the machine performance  test show that the machine  can be. operated easily without exhausted. The hole is easily to be made on wood with 200ern length without setting wood position. The hole position is automatically perpendicular  to the horizontal line of the wood so that in accordance with the hole position  on  the  wood.  There  is  no  vibration  on  bench  and  the  machine.  This condition shows that the construction design is strong enough to the vibration of the motor revolution and the hole feeding.
