Abstract

This study aims to measure the effectiveness of the implementation of SPMI in the LPMP Bali school model using the CIPP model (context, input, process, product). The study began with the measurement of the level of conformity between the results of the initial school evaluation model and the achievement of the 2017 school model SNP quality report. The results of the initial evaluation on 11 target schools showed that the level of achievement of the initial evaluation of the SPMI school in 2018 was not comparable with the SNP school quality report card for SPMI in Bali Province in 2017. This is indicated by insignificant correlation values. This means that the model school has not been able to run SPMI properly, even though the model school program at the school has been running in the third year. Furthermore, from these results, an appropriate mentoring strategy was made in accordance with the weaknesses of each school and six months of assistance was provided for the school model. The results of the final evaluation after assistance were divided into five categories, namely very effective, effective, quite effective, ineffective and very ineffective. Evaluation in the context component shows effective results, the input component results are very effective, while in the mapping process, quality planning, and implementation of effective quality fulfillment, monitoring and evaluation is quite effective. The results component also shows the average achievement in the effective category. The recommendation given from the results of this study is that it is necessary to develop appropriate assistance strategies according to the needs of each school based on the results of the initial school evaluation, and need to carry out measurements of the results of the final evaluation after being given assistance.

Abstract

The development of a multidisciplinary integrated project-based learning model was carried out to answer the needs in elementary schools. Learning in elementary schools that use thematic approaches needs to be managed well to improve learning effectiveness. This study uses a type of research and development. The development process uses the Gall, Gall & Borg (2007) model. The preparation of guidelines and student book examples uses the steps of Dick, Carey, & Carey (2009). The model developed is accompanied by derivative products, namely learning manuals and student book examples. Based on this study, learning manuals and student book examples can be used in multidisciplinary integrated project-based learning to improve critical thinking skills and student collaboration.

Abstract

The study aimed at developing a prototype digital game e-CALF (electronic version of Contextual Attractive Logical and Fun) as self-directed learning media for elementary school students. The research was conducted in SD Lab Singaraja in which the subjects of the study were one class representative in each grade of the students. The design of this research was adapted from ADDIE Model. The data was gained by using interview guide, observation sheet, questionnaire and expert judgment rubric. Since it was found that almost 90% of students in SD Lab Undiksha have their own smartphone, it is a need to design digital media which can facilitate them doing self-directed learning at home. As the result, e-CALF is designed, developed, and revised and at the end of this study, the e-CALF can be categorized as an excellent media. The score of the material given by the first, second, and third judges are 110, 110.5, and 111. Those scores are in a range of X ≥ 103.5 which is categorized as an excellent content. From media expert, the accumulation score gained is 148. The score is in a range of X ≥ 139.5 which is also categorized as an excellent media.

Abstract

This study aims to improve mathematical critical thinking and habits of mind through the application the RAVE-CCC (Read, Attend, Visualize, Estimate, Choice, Calculate, Check) strategy for six grade students of Elementary School. This study uses Classroom Action Research method. The research design used Kemmis and Mc Taggart's model. The research data were collected using field note techniques, interviews, observations, and mathematical critical thinking test  and habits of mind questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that, tests of students' mathematical critical thinking show increasing trend in each cycle. In the first cycle, the percentage of students who completed their scores with mathematical critical thinking skills was 70.83% which increases in the second cycle to 83.33%. The percentage of teachers and students activity in each cycle has increased. In the first cycle, the percentage of achievement indicators was 78.57%, in the second cycle, increased to 89.28%. The active participation of all students in the first cycle was 76.19% and in the second cycle increased to 87.5%. As for habits of mind, the percentage in the first cycle and second cycle also increased. In the first cycle the average percentage of students who showed a positive habits of mind was 66.66%, in the second cycle increased to 83.33%. Thus, it can be concluded that the adoption of the RAVE-CCC strategy can improve mathematical critical thinking and habits of mind.

Abstract

Factor analysis at item test conceptual understanding of numerical method aims to find out whether the conceptual understanding indicators used can confirm a construct and ensure that the test is complied with the indicator. Data analysis is done using confirmatory factor analysis.  Based on data analysis, one factor is formed with Eigen value 2.352 and variation is 58.8%. This result shows that the indicators of conceptual understanding ability are valid, and the test prepared in accordance with the indicators of conceptual understanding ability.
