Abstract

The research objective was to determine the physicochemical characteristics of acetylated arenga starches produced in varying amounts of starch. Modification of arenga starch with treatment of starch at 50, 200, 350, 500, 650, 800 and 950 g by adding distilled water as much as 112.5; 450; 787.5; 1.125; 1,462; 1,800 and 2,137 mL respectively, stirred using a magnetic stirrer for 60 minutes. Then added acetic anhydride 15%(v/w) at pH 8 were added 3% NaOH solution. Then added a solution of 0.5 M HCl to pH 4.5 to stop the reaction.Further starch precipitated and washed with distilled water two to three times and one time 75% ethanol, starch and then oven-dried at 50 ° C for 12 hours. Variable research of acetylated arenga starches include acetyl percent and a degree of substitution (DS), water holding capacity and oil holding capacity (WHC and OHC), swelling power and solubility, emulsion stability and viscosity. Results of research on acetyl percent (4.28%) and the degree of substitution (0.17). Physicochemical characteristics of acetylated arenga starches WHC (1.71 g / g), swelling power (36.40 g / g), solubility (1.32%) and emulsion stability (100.00%) higher than the native arenga starch while OHC (2.05 g/g) and viscosity (2933 Cp) with native starch is higher than the acetylated arenga starches. Then, on the characteristics of acetylated arenga starches can be applied to the food product as a functional food.

Abstract

The research aimed to find out the marketing channel of Palu valley onion varieties, the amount of marketing margin obtained by each marketing institution of Palu Valley onion varieties,  the amount of price received by the farmer (producer) in each marketing channel of Palu Valley onion varieties, and know the marketing efficiency of Palu Valley onion varieties.   The researcher took 29 respondents from 85 farmers using simple random sampling method. Moreover, the researcher used tracing Sampling Method for 5 merchants to determine the merchant respondents,   the determination of consumer respondents had been done purposively (Purposive) for 5 people so that the number of respondents in this research were totally 39 respondents.  Data analysis used was marketing analysis. The results showed that there were two channels of marketing commodity of onion varieties of Palu valley located in Soulove Village which are: first channel, farmer → collector → retailer → consumer. The second channel, farmers → collectors → consumer .The marketing margin of Palu Valley onion varieties obtained for the first channel was IDR 25,000, and marketing margin of Palu valley onion varieties obtained for second channel was IDR 15.000. The price obtained by farmers in the first channel was 61.53%, and the second channel was 72.72%. The value of first channel marketing efficiency was 1.00% and for the second channel was 1.18%.

Abstract

This research aims to know the feasibility of financial businesses organic fertilizer from waste cattle beef cattle on small and medium enterprises (SME) Komonitas Natural farmer Village Sidera Subdistrict Sigi Biromaru Sigi Regency based on criteria of Net Present Value (NPV) Net, B/C Ratio, Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Peyback Period (PP) analysis and research Sensivitas. Location determined intentionally (Purposive) with the consideration that SME Produce Natural Komonitas is the only group of farmers who are making business manage organic fertilizer. The respondent's determination was done deliberately (Purposive) with the number of respondents as much as 3 people consisting of 1 Chairman, 1 Treasurer and 1 employee part production. Methods of analysis using financial feasibility analysis, with some indicators that were used i.e. Net Present Value (NPV), the Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net/B/C), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Payback period (PP) analysis and Sensitivity calculation of  financial feasibility. Result of organic fertilizer on SME venture Komonitas Natural Farmers are financially viable to run based on the assessment criteria i.e. NPV, IRR, Net B/C and Payback Period, and sensitivity. Organic fertilizer venture acquire the value of NPV is IDR. 25.284.439 Net value, B/C of 3,48, value of 29.31% IRR is greater than the specified level of the discount rate, and PBP are before the project ends i.e. 2 years 9 months 8 days. The results of the sensitivity analysis also showed that organic fertilizers on SME venture Komonitas the Natural Farmer is still worth running and profit despite rising prices of raw materials amounting to 23 percent.

Abstract

Marketing Tuna fish in the village Bahari have a lot of difference between the relatively low price of the amount paid by the consumer at prices determined by the number of fishermen who certainly affect the marketing margin. Their involvement in the marketing mix to increase sales volume and marketing agencies in distributing fish species, cause marketing costs. This study aimed (1). Tuna Fish forms of marketing channels in the village of Bahari (2). Large marketing margins Tuna in the village of Bahari (3). The portion of the price received by the Tuna Fishermen in the village of Bahari (4).The level of marketing efficiency Tuna in the village of Bahari. Respondents in this study were fishermen who do production catching Tuna. Determination of the respondents conducted by using Simple Random Sampling (Simple Random Sampling). The number of respondents in this study were 30 fishermen from a total population of 100 people fishing tuna. Total population was taken from the 10 fishing groups, each group representing the three members of the fishermen. Then to respondents 5 Tuna fish traders used the assessment method (trancing method), in order to obtain each of the collectors 2 and 3 retailers. The results showed that the value of sales Tuna on Channel I that was obtained Tuna Fishermen in the village of Bahari District of Tojo Tojo Una-Una IDR.160,000,000 / kg and Channels II obtained IDR. 150,000,000 / kg Group Business Tuna Fishermen Village Maritime District of Tojo Una-Una well worth the effort, indicated by value analysis shows that the marketing channel Tuna Maritime Village District of Tojo Tojo Una-Una consists of two channels, namely: 1 . Fishermen Traders Gatherer → Collectors →Retailers→ Consumer Merchant Retailers. 2. Fishermen Traders Retailer → Consumer. Old Fish total marketing margin on first marketing channel that was IDR.10,000.00/ kg and marketing margins Tuna on a second marketing channel that wasIDR. 15,000.00/ kg. Part of the price received by fishermen on the first channel by 62% and part of the price received by fishermen on the second line by 83%.Marketing efficiency Tuna on the first channel of 12.5% and the efficiency of marketing of tuna fish on a second channel 13%. In both these marketing channels, marketing channels to II is more efficient than the first marketing channel where the efficiency of the marketing channel II is greater than I. channels Caused by comparison of total marketing costs incurred on the channel II is smaller than the channel I. In addition, the sale price received by fishermen (producer) on the second channel is greater.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of sheep manure to the increased uptake of nitrogen (N) lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) in soil Entisols Palu valley. The study begins with the soil sampling in the Loluvillage, District Sigi Biromaru, Sigi, at a depth of 20 cm. The method used in this study was prepared using a randomized block design with four levels of dose and repeated 3 times to obtain 12 units of trial. Four levels of a treatment are: d1 = Without manure of sheep, d2 = Manure sheep dose of 15 t / ha (Equivalent to 20 g / polybag), d3 = Manure sheep dose of 30 t / ha (equivalent 40 g/polybag), d4 = sheep manure dose 45 t/ha (Equivalent to 60 g / polybag). Parameters observed that C-Organic, pH, N-Total, Concentration N, Plant Dry Weight and Uptake of  N. From the results of research on the effect of sheep dung on lettuce crop nitrogen uptake levels achieved the highest N uptake in the manure of sheep at a dose of 45 t ha-1 every analysis done on the study. Increasing doses of sheep manure is always followed by increasing soil pH, organic C, N-total, dry weight of the plant, as well as the N concentration in plant tissue and crop N uptake in lettuce.

Abstract

The research was conducted in Lake Lindu Watershed Sub DAS Palu of Lindu Subdistrict of Sigi Regency and soil analysis was carried out in Soil Science Laboratory Laboratory of Tadulako University. The purpose of this study is to predict the rate of soil erosion and determine the index of erosion hazard in some land use in Lake Lindu watershed area Palu Sub-waters of Central Sulawesi Province. The benefits of this research are as a source of information for the government in general and provide information on the size of the erosion hazard index on some agricultural and non-agricultural land use so that it can be used sustainably. This research method was done by using survey method, soil sampling, soil anilisis, type and source of data and collect data through observation and interview. Data processing to obtain the result of erosion prediction is processed by using USLE equation (Universal Soil Loss Equation) by entering primary data and secondary data into USLE equation that is long and slope factor, Plant Management Factor and Soil Conservation Factor (CP), tolerated Erosion (TSL), and the Erosion Hazard Index (EHI). Based on the research conducted in Lake Palu Lake Basing Sub Palu about the prediction of erosion on some land use it was found that the erosion hazard that occurs in some units of land in Lake Lindu watershed Palu sub watershed included in the criteria of high, medium to low. The average value of erosion thatwas tolerated 17.07 ton-1year-1. The rate of erosion in Lake Lindu Watershed Palu is dominant due to soil erodibility, crop management and conservation measures. Conservation actions that need to be done are to maintain the existing vegetation, the use of plant remains as mulch, the use of bench terraces, guludan, reforestation and land evaluation.

Abstract

This study aims is to examine the effect of GA3 and NAA on seed viability of clove after storage. This research was conducted in two steps which the first step to evaluate seed germination used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one factor GA3 + NAA as a growth regulator namely;control/without growth regulator (V1), GA3 + NAA 0,025 ppm (V2), GA3 + NAA 0,050 ppm (V3) ), and a vigor test of seedling as a second steps useda randomized block design (RBD), what it was repeated four times and totallywas 12 experimental units. The results showed that a concentration 0.05 ppm of GA3 + NAA better stimulatedfor 100% seed germination, 100% maximum growth potential, 3.65 days seed germination and hypothetical vigor index 0.37.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the added value derived from crude meat processed into beef floss  industry Sri Rejeki households in the city of Palu. The location determination was done intentionally (purposive). Respondents in this study are the leaders and employees of Sri Rejeki domestic industry in the city of Palu. Data were obtained from the primary data and secondary   data. The analysis used is the analysis of the value added by Hayami method. The results showed that (1) Income Beef floss in household industries Sri Rejeki IDR. 5,780,384 / kg; (2) Value-added Beef floss in household industries Sri RejekiIDR. 69,843.75 / kg with a ratio of 41.57%  what were indicated domestic industry Sri Rejeki in managing the beef floss provide added value that is classified so as to obtain benefit.

Abstract

Onion local Palu (Allium cepa L. group Agregatum) is industrial raw material of processing friend onion which has been become the best product in Palu. This research aims to find out the effect of production inputs of land area, seed, fertilizer and labor usage on onion production at soulove village of Sigi Biromaru subdistrict of Sigi regency. Furthermore, this research aims to find out the level of efficiency of production inputs of the farm usage. Determination of sample used is simple random sampling method. The data analysis used is correlation analysis, Cobb-Douglass, production, and efficiency. The research results showed that simultaneously, all independent variables (X) give real effect on the dependent variable (Y). The analysis results showed that silmultaneously, factors of land area (X1), labor (X2), seed (X3), and fertilizer (X4) give very significant effect on the production of onion farming, with Fcount> Ftable on α 1 % level. The results of t-test showed that land area, fertilizer, and labor have no significant effect with tcount<ttable. On α 1% level, whereas the seed have a real effect with tcount> ttable.Results of efficiency analysis show the k value from seed variable, numbers > 1 means production inputs used in onion farming at soulove village of Sigi Biromaru subdistrict of  Sigi regency in terms of price utilization input production were declared not efficient yet, while the use of land area input, fertilizer and labor in terms of inefficient prices.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics of some chemical and physical properties of soil on clove plants in the lowland. This research was conducted in Tudua Village, Central Bungku District,Morowali District from March till May 2017. Analysis of some soil chemical properties was done at Soil Science Laboratory of Agricultural Faculty of Tadulako University Palu. The method used in this research is survey method,while Determination of research location conducted in parallel (purposive sampling) and soil sampling was done systematically with grid system at 15 x 15 m distance adjusted to condition of survey area. Soil samples were taken from 3 clove plantation locations, each clove plantation location was collected in 3 sub samples and then composed, so that 3 composite soil samples were obtained to be analyzed in the laboratory. The observed variables to be analyzed are soil chemical properties including pH, C-Organic, CEC, N, P, K, and Ca while soil physical properties include soil texture, bulk density, soil porosity, soil permeability and color of soil. The results showed that soil chemical properties of the three clove plantation sites had very acid pH, sour to slightly acid, C-Organic had moderate to high criterion, CEC and N criteria were moderate to high, K and Ca had very low criteria. While the soil physical properties of the three clove plantation sites have sandy clay texture class to sandy clay, moderate to high soil BD, porosity with poor criteria to good, permeability tend to be medium to fast, and soil color is diverse where there is a dark yellowish brown color, brown to dark brown.
