Abstract

Forest and land rehabilitation is intended to restore, maintain and improve forest and land functions so that the carrying capacity, productivity and role in supporting living systems is maintained. The reduced quality of the environment can lead to natural disasters such as floods and landslides and other natural disasters that can harm living things. This study aims to determine public perceptions of protected forest rehabilitation activities in Sarumbaya Village. The study was conducted for three months, from November 2016 to January 2017. The research location was located in Sarumbaya Village, Banawa Selatan District, Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. Data collection techniques through interviews using questionnaires, with in-depth interviews, which are expected to provide information that supports the validity of data obtained from the questionnaire results. The number of respondents taken was 32 people, respondents were chosen deliberately using a Likert scale analysis with scaling modifications 1-3-5. The results showed that the perception of Sarumbaya Village community towards the rehabilitation of protected forest activities carried out by the Donggala District Forestry Service can be categorized high. This is evident from the community's knowledge of the existence of rehabilitation activities and community involvement in rehabilitation activities starting from the planning, implementation and maintenance stages which are classified as high. Keywords: Perception, Rehabilitation, Protection Forest.

Abstract

Sigi Regency in 2019 has been a flood disaster that submerged several villages around it and brought mud and wood from around the river. The study aims to spatially analyze the spread of flood-prone zones and their causes in Sigi Regency. Spatial analysis method is used in the result data using scoring and weighting methods in five map parameters namely slope, soil type, rainfall, drainage and land cover. From the results of spatial analysis it is known that the distribution of the occurrence of flood-prone zones there are 5 parameters namely not prone to 51.77%, somewhat prone to 28.14%, quite prone to 9.39%, prone to 6.92% and very prone to 3.78%. The main cause of flooding is that changes in land cover each year are increasing and reducing vegetation cover will cause rain water to run off directly to the soil. Keywords: Map parameters, flood-prone zones, changes in land cover, spatial analysis.

Abstract

The present research aimed to evaluate the effect of different types and concentration of wood presertivative to the retention value and wood durability against drywood termite.  The preesvative agents used were Biotermikill 100 EC and Ebony woodbark extract.  Moisture content and density of wood samples were measured by SNI 03-6848-2002.  Retention values were calculated based on the ratio of the treated and underated-wood weight and their volumes in a usual way.  Wood durability against drywood termite was determined by comparison of the weight loss of the treated to that underated-wood.  The results displayed the highest retention value of Biotermikill EC and Ebony woodbark extract were 0,628kg/m³ dan 0,535 kg/m³ at 3% concentration.  In the antitermite assays, both preservatives exhibited the lowest wood weight loos were 0,096% and 0,083% at 3% concentration.  The present research displayed that the retention valuse and weight loss of Palapi wood were strongly affected by the concentration of the presrvatives.  The results also showed that the concentration of preservatives used gave slightly better effect to improve Palapi woods durability. Keywords: Concentration of Preservatives, Retention, Biotermikill EC, Ebony Woodbark Extract.

Abstract

Efforts to preserve semar bag plant species are absolutely necessary so that their existence is maintained. However, the problem faced is limited data and information on habitat factors and the suitability of Semar bag habitats that are most suitable as Semar bag plants. This research was conducted for 3 (three) months from March to May 2018, which is located in the Rorekautimbu Mountain Climbing Route in Central Sulawesi, using a purposive sampling method based on the height of the research location where the height of the research pathway starts from 1,700 m.dpl to 2,500 m.dpl. The height of the mountain was then made into three classes with an altitude of 1,700 masl-1,950 masl, 1,950 masl-2,200 masl and> 2,200 masl. The parameters used to find the suitability of Nepenthes spp habitat are height, slope, vegetation density, and distance from the river. From the results of the research and spatial analysis of all the variables, it can be seen that the most suitable habitat of Nepenthes is in class 238-325 with a total of 43 Nepenthes and an area of 388 Ha, quite appropriate to be in the 149-237 class with a total of 5 Nepenthes and the area reaches 654 Ha, while the less suitable are in the 60-148 class with an area of 72 Ha.Keywords: Habitat, Semar Bags (Nepenthes Spp) and Rorekautimbu

Abstract

Sulawesi is the largest island in the central Wallacea region, so Sulawesi has a high level of diversity, both flora and fauna. Forest products are divided into two forest products consisting of wood and non-wood, one of the non-wood forest products is the orchid plant. (Pasimbong, 2013). Natural orchids are a group of plants that have not received much attention, in Sulawesi where information and publications on these various orchids have not been abundant. This study was conducted to determine the type of orchid at several altitudes in the Lore lindu National Park area in Karunia Village, Palolo District, Sigi Regency. This research will be conducted from April to June 2017, located in the Lore Lindu National Park area in Karunia Village, Palolo District, Sigi Regency. The study was conducted using the method of Identification of the diversity of orchid species at several altitudes in the forest area of the recipient village. The determination of the sampling was done intentionally (purposive sampling), each plot was taken at the location and provided for access (access). The results showed facts of orchid species in Karunia Village. There were 18 species found in the study sites in four areas of the Lore Lindu National Park Area in Karunia Village, Palolo Subdistrict, Sigi Regency. The highest value is based on 2,756 and the one with the highest H 'value is Spathoglotis plicata, with a value of H' = 0.2581. Send the lowest species variation index in the Dendrobium sp 4 orchid species with H '= 0.0910. Orchid species in Karunia Village are categorized as medium. Keywords: Diversity, Orchids, Gifts, Lore Lindu National Park.

Abstract

Non-wood forest products (NTFPs) have recently been seen as increasingly important after the productivity of wood from natural forests has declined. Utilization of NTFPs can produce high-value products and be able to contribute to the country's foreign exchange, for example from pine resin products that are processed into Gondorukem derivatives. Determination of the way of tapping pine sap certainly will not be separated from the consideration. From an economic perspective, the consideration is that it is efficient and effective so that it can provide optimal benefits. While in terms of ecology, the consideration is that it does not cause significant damage to the tapped tree. To find alternative ingredients or stimulants that are safe, easy to obtain and able to increase pine resin production, a study was carried out on the effect of lime stimulants in increasing the production of sap in Namo Village. This research was conducted in April to June 2016. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments namely 0% stimulant, 25% stimulant, and 50% stimulant. From the results of the study obtained the lowest sap production in the control (without stimulants) of 28.23 gr / tree / 3 days and the highest at 50% stimulant concentration of 70.16 gr / tree / 3 days. Based on LSD test results, it can be seen that the use of lime stimulant with a concentration of 50% has a significantly different effect with a 25% stimulant concentration and control. The concentration of lime stimulant 25% was not significantly different from the control. Keywords: Stimulant Levels, Lime, Production, Pine Gum.
