Abstract

The use of agricultural tools and machinery has become a primary needs of farmers in processing and increasing their farming production, this activity encourages the emergence of agricultural tools and machinery service unit (UPJA) that has an intention in assistaining farmers in achieving time and energy efficiency and also in order to overcome scarcity of farmer resources in processing their farming. However, the delayed development of UPJA in several regions has encouraged this research in order to analyze farmers' responses to the use of agricultural tools and machinery service unit. Research method: This study was conducted at the Bukit Raya UPJA Village Pak Leheng Toho District from January - March 2018. This research used the descriptive analysis data, which was displayed in table form with several categories that have been determined based on aspects of knowledge, attitude, and skills. Response measurements were carried out using a Likert scale (scoring) with a score of 1-5. The results of the all of the farmer showed that the response analysis from the aspects of knowledge, attitude, and skills of UPJA Bukit Raya amounted to 3.48 in the good category, which means that farmers generally gave a good respond to the existence of the UPJA Bukit Raya Village, in Pak Leheng Village, Toho District.Keywords: Agricultural Machinery, Farmer Energy Efficiency, Likert Scale

Abstract

One of the efforts to develop village economic in West Sumbawa Regency is to establish and develop Village Owned Enterprise (Bumdes) based on agriculture. The purpose of this research is to find out internal and external factors of Bumdes based on agriculture; and formulating strategies for developing Bumdes based on agriculture in West Sumbawa Regency. This research was conducted in West Sumbawa Regency. 40 respondents were selected by purposive sampling. This research method is survey method. The instrument validity test was carried out with the Pearson Product Moment correlation technique, and for the reliability test with the Cronbach Alpha formula. Data collected were analysed using SWOT analysis. The results show that internal factors in the form of the main strength of Bumdes based on agriculture is the business managed by Bumdes serving the basic needs of community, while the main weakness is the capacity of managers managing Bumdes still lacking, and the absence of marketing networks. For external factors, the main opportunities of Bumdes based on agriculture are the support of local and central government regulations, the area and potential of agriculture can be developed optimally as well as the development and expansion of agricultural businesse, while the main threats of Bumdes are the lack of community participation in Bumdes activities. Results of  SWOT analysis, the strategy Bumdes based on agriculture in West Sumbawa Regency can be done using the W-O (Weakness-opportunity) strategy, which is a strategy that minimizes the weaknesses that are owned to seize opportunities. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the marketing margin of rice that generated by farmers on Belawa, Wajo Regency, South Sulawesi Province. This research used cross-section data based on the time dimension. This research used snowball sampling to determine the sample. There are 25 people as respondent sample. This study used in-depth interview method, and analysis tools such as marketing’s margin function, classic assumption test, F-test, and t-test. Public Corporation Logistics Agency (Bulog) acts as a provider of rice in the form of realization to meet food. Bulog is expected to control the supply and distribution of grain and rice in region IV of Wajo sub-division. There are four grain/rice marketing channels on Belawa, Wajo Regency, South Sulawesi Province. Bulog has not played a sufficient role in the grain/rice marketing channel on Belawa, Wajo Regency, South Sulawesi Province; even though the highest marketing margin is Rp 4,167/kg with a 52.75% farmer share.Keywords: Bulog, Marketing, Rice.

Abstract

Nowadays many emerging businesses use digital media accounts to advertise their products, therefore the competition in business becomes tougher. Businessman should pay attention to promotional components through digital media in accordance with their target market to make the message provided effective, efficient and meet the intended use.The purposes is to structure the promotion of application sayurbaba on purchasing decisions trough digital media in Pontianak city. Survey method with 100 respondents by purposive sampling. Data collected through online questionnaires via google form. The analysis using Structural Equation Modeling through LISREL 8.80 software. The results proved that promotion of application Sayurbaba on purchasing decisions trough digital media in Pontianak city was composed of collaboration and connection components which were measured by sharing posts, customer testimonials, useful content and promotions.Keywords: Context,Communication,Collaboration, Connection, SEM

Abstract

Problems with rainfed lowland rice cultivation in Sambas Regency include; the level of productivity is still low and the attack of blast disease and planthopper pests. Therefore, the introduction of new high-yielding varieties that have high productivity and resistant to blast disease and planthopper pests. Besides that, new improved varieties are in accordance with the tastes of the local community. This study aims to determine the analysis of the financial feasibility and preferences of farmers to the character of superior varieties of rice in rain-fed rice fields. The field research was carried out on 10 hectares of farmers' land and survey in Matang Danau village, Paloh sub-district. Research time is from April to August 2018. Respondents were 30 ethnic Malay cooperative farmers. Data collected included input and output data of rice farming, farmer characteristics, plant morphology. Data collection through observation and interviews with farmers. Observations were made on growth in the field and just before harvest. From the results of the study showed that the new superior variety of Inpari 41 was feasible to be cultivated with MBCR 1.49 with additional gross revenue of Rp 5,435,000 (39.92%) with again on the total cost of Rp 1,252,940 (22.45%) of the variety Cilosari. Farmers like the Inpari 41 variety because based on plant type, plant height, panicle length, number of productive tillers, level of production, resistance to pests and diseases, grain loss rate, grain color, aspects that get attention in developing rice in rainfed lowland are vegetative growth, grain form, quality of rice, rice texture, and taste of rice that are favored by local farmers as information for breeders in assembling new superior varieties of rainfed lowland rice. Keywords: Financial feasibility, Preference, New high yielding varieties, Rainfed lowland

Abstract

The research aimed to identify internal factors that become strengths and weaknesses as well as external factors that become opportunities and threats, formulate alternative development strategies, and formulate priority strategies that can be applied in the development of organic dragon fruit agribusiness in Wonogiri Regency. The basic method used is descriptive and analytical. Determination of the location of the study was carried out purposively, namely the Beji Makmur Farmers Group Association in Beji Village, Nguntoronadi District, Wonogiri Regency, the method of determining the Key Informants was chosen purposively. The types of data used are primary data and secondary data. The analytical method used is internal and external factor analysis, IFE and EFE matrix, IE matrix, SWOT matrix, and Analytical Hierarchy Process. The results of the research concluded that (1) The main factors of internal strength, namely marketing of organic dragon fruit have reached exports to Germany while the main weakness is the absence of the Beji Makmur Farmers Group Association secretariat, the main opportunity external factors namely the demand for organic dragon fruit in the form of fresh fruit while the main threat is erratic weather changes, (2) The alternative strategies for developing organic dragon fruit in Wonogiri Regency are SO, WO, ST, and WT strategy. (3) The development strategy priorities that can be applied in developing the Beji Makmur Farmers Group Association is to innovate by using radiation technology in the cultivation of organic dragon fruit so that productivity is more optimal.Keywords: Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), Development Strategy, Dragon Fruit, Organic, SWOT

Abstract

The presence of vegetable farmers in peri-urban areas is essential for the supply of food to the urban population. However, they face intense competition from other non-agricultural activities. This research aims to explore the characteristics of vegetable farmers in Tangerang Regency as part of Jakarta Metropolitan Area, the motivation of respondents towards becoming vegetable farmers, and their strategy in adapting to massive urban development. We employed the qualitative approach by combining questionnaires, field observations, and interviews. We found the new entrant farmers that are in their productive ages and came with experience in the formal economy before starting farming. The motivation of respondents became vegetable farmers vary depend on their background and the land ownerships. Farmers in the study area are doing diversification by having off-farm activities and doing intensification by patterning crop to adapt rapid urbanization. To sustain the development of vegetable farming in peri-urban area, it will be crucial for government to create the new strategy of using vacant lands as farmlands to produce vegetables in order to combat food security issues, and also to assist farmers by upgrading their skill through various trainings.Keywords: Peri-urban, Strategy, Vegetable Farming.
