Abstract

Alhamdulillah, thank you be to Allah for the publication of Jurnal Sosiologi Reflektif (JSR) Vol.16 No.2 in 2022. After a little delay due to the moment of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr, JSR is able to greet all readers again. The outline of the article from this edition is the result of the 6th JSR Panel Conference held on November 24-25, 2021. The theme of the 6th panel conference is: "Social Changes After Pandemic: Reinterpreting Everyday Life of Muslim Society". Therefore, seven articles in this edition discuss various aspects of life related to how Muslim societies across the country responding to the phenomena of Covid-19 pandemic, which nearly come to the end. Meanwhile, the rest of articles in this edition are added to acknowledge other actual issues outside the boundaries of pandemic.The main articles related to the issues of Covid-19 pandemic begins with the article of Maftukha. She describes religious holydays in Indonesia, especially among Muslims and Christians in North Sulawesi contribute to strengthen the solidarity of people, which is weakened during the pandemic due to some restrictions policies in conducting daily religious activities. Similar issue is also raised by Andi Azis Putra who gives more attention on how to create social cohesion during the pandemic situation using the case of digital voluntarism in elevating religious consciousness among Indonesian netizen. Another interesting aspect in responding the Covid-19 is related to the issue of the higher usage of digital media platform in religious practices as proposed by Abd. Hannan with the issue of various disruptions in practicing religious worship, Romario with the issue of new media in portraying religious authority in the case of conspiracy discourse, Yulianti and Khoniq Nur Afifah with an issue on challenging the Islamic philanthropy in empowering Muslim society during the pandemic; Hajar Gelis Pramudyasmono with his conclusion of his research that there is no significant influence on the implementation of health’s protocols to the social and economic activities of society in Bengkulu Province, and also Ahmad Norma Permata et.al., with some interesting changes in leisure, safety, and continuity of post-pandemic tourism.Other issues outside the Covid-19 pandemic raised in this edition are related to dakwah strategy among the youth Muslims and the issues of gender. Changing the dakwah model among youth Muslims, especially in urban areas, is quite fascinating. Eko Saputra portrays how Teras Dakwah in Yogyakarta, for example, using cafes as a complementary place for mosques or other conventional religious sites to learn Islam. Learning Islam in cafes becomes more interesting phenomenon for youth Muslims in some urban areas. Gender issues are still attractive to be discussed during the pandemic era, including a traditional controversial issue on the practice of polygamy. Nur Afni Khafsoh, et.al., for instance, criticizing the practice of polygamy in Indonesia by observing the thoughts of three prominent figures of Muslim scholars in order to minimize misunderstanding on how the practice of polygamy perceived by Indonesian Muslims. Another issue related to gender and family is raised by Trias Novita Elisadayna with a paper title on “Sociological Analysis of Sexual Satisfaction in Individual with Marriage Age under Ten Years”. She concluded that physical health, strong financial support, numbers of child, and healthy relationship in child care have a positive function in creating happiness and stability in the family, including through sexual satisfaction of both partners. Last but not least, Muhammad Alhada Fuadul Habib, et.al., raised an important issue on the impacts of post-conflict in building a New Yogyakarta International Airport (NYIA) for surrounding areas, especially related to social and economic development of the people.Finally, we hope all articles presented in this edition will enrich our knowledge and lift up our understanding on several important issues on improving the quality life of society. We are fully aware that this edition is still far from perfection, therefore we are open for any critics to preserve the quality of our journal. Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has led the Government of Indonesia to implement health protocols. Although it can have a serious impact on the sustainability of social and economic activities. This research examines the impact of implementing health protocols on the sustainability of social and economic activities in society. This research was conducted in Sidorejo Village, Pondok Kelapa District, Central Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach. The data was collected through observation and interviews of 15 informants. The results revealed that the implementation of health protocols did not significantly affect the sustainability of social and economic activities. The efforts made by the community in meeting their basic needs are saving expenses, utilizing the yard to grow vegetables, and using sparingly funds and basic goods from the government.Pandemi covid-19 telah membuat Pemerintah Indonesia menerapkan protokol kesehatan, meskipun bisa berdampak pada keberlangsungan kegiatan-kegiatan sosial dan ekonomi. Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk mengkaji dampak penerapan protokol kesehatan terhadap keberlangsungan kegiatan sosial dan ekonomi di masyarakat. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Sidorejo, Kecamatan Pondok Kelapa, Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah, Provinsi Bengkulu dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan pengamatan dan wawancara terhadap 15 orang informan. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa penerapan protokol kesehatan tidak terlalu mempengaruhi keberlangsungan kegiatan sosial dan ekonomi. Upaya yang dilakukan masyarakat dalam mencukupi kebutuhan-kebutuhan dasarnya adalah menghemat pengeluaran, mendayagunakan pekarangan untuk menanam sayur-sayuran, dan menggunakan secara hemat bantuan dana serta barang-barang kebutuhan pokok dari pemerintah.

Abstract

Studies on sexual satisfaction in individuals has been dominated by psychological perspectives. However, sexual satisfaction can also be studied comprehensively using a sociological approach. This article intends to determine social factors that influence the sexual satisfaction of individuals with marriage age under ten (10) years old. Research subjects were obtained using the criteria of individuals who have been married for ten years, age range from 25 - 39 years old, and number of informants (n) = 40. The study used the NSSS (New Sexual Satisfaction Scale) instrument with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.97. The results showed that the average male sexual satisfaction was 74.95, and the female sexual satisfaction average was 64.44. These data show that men have higher sexual satisfaction than women. Social construction shapes women as objects of male sexual satisfaction. Another influenced sociological aspect is the type of work and its social role in the family. Individuals who work in working sectors with high pressure and low-income are potential to have low sexual satisfaction. Meanwhile, individuals who work at working situation that are more relaxed and flexible in terms of time and place, having high potential sources of income tend to have a high sexual satisfaction. The results showed that the average sexual satisfaction of individuals with a marriage age range from three to ten years is 43.49% and it is included in a very low category. It can be concluded that individuals with the marriage age which felt sexual dissatisfaction are those under ten years during the pandemic.Kepuasan seksual pada individu selama ini banyak didominasi kajian Psikologi. Meski demikian, kepuasan seksual dapat dikaji dengan menggunakan pendekatan Sosiologis. Artikel ini bermaksud untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kepuasan seksual individu dengan usia pernikahan di bawah sepuluh (10) tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif-deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui purposive sampling terhadap 68 individu dengan rentang usia 25-39 tahun, dan telah menikah maksimal sepuluh (10) tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrument NSSS (New Sexual Satisfaction Scale) dengan Cronbach's alpha 0,97. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata kepuasan seksual laki-laki adalah 74.42 dan rata-rata kepuasan seksual perempuan adalah 70.83. Meskipun nilai rata-rata kepuasan perempuan dan laki-laki masuk dalam kategori cukup puas. Namun, dapat terlihat laki-laki memiliki kepuasan seksual yang lebih tinggi dari perempuan. Hal ini disebabkan adanya konstruk sosial yang membentuk perempuan sebagai objek dari kepuasan seksual laki-laki.  Aspek sosiologi lain yang mempengaruhi adalah tipe pekerjaan dan peran sosialnya di keluarga. Individu yang bekerja di sektor pekerjaan dengan tekanan tinggi dan potensi pendapatan yang rendah memiliki kepuasan seksual yang rendah. Sedangkan pada individu dengan tipe pekerjaan yang santai dan fleksibel dari segi waktu dan tempat serta memiliki potensi sumber pendapatan tinggi dan lebih dari satu memiliki kepuasan seksual yang tinggi.

Abstract

The construction of the New Yogyakarta International Airport (NYIA) by the Government of Indonesia and PT Angkasa Pura I, which began in 2011, has resulted in a number of vertical conflicts between the government-entrepreneurs and local residents, particularly in Jangkaran Village, Sindutan Village, Palihan Village, Kebonrejo Village, Temon Kulon, and Glagah Village. However, even though conflicts arose and there was opposition from many parties including from an environmental impact analysis, the construction of the NYIA Airport was continued and completed in 2019. This study aims to reveal the social and economic impacts felt by local residents in Jangkaran Village, Sindutan Village, Palihan Village, Kebonrejo Village, Temon Kulon Village, and Glagah Village after the construction of the NYIA Airport. Do local residents get economic and social security for the construction of NYIA Airport? Data were obtained using a qualitative research approach through data collection techniques of observation, FGD, and in-depth interviews with villagers at the research locations and other stakeholders. The results showed that some people were able to adapt to changes in socio-economic conditions after the construction of the NYIA. They are able to find a new job that is better than before so that they are socio-economically more prosperous. However, some people are still not able to adapt so they are still in a cycle of poverty that shackles them.Pembangunan Bandara New Yogyakarta International Airport (NYIA) oleh Pemerintah Indonesia dan PT angkasa Pura I yang dimulai tahun 2011, telah mengakibatkan sejumlah konflik vertikal antara pemerintah-pengusaha dan warga lokal, khususnya di Desa Jangkaran, Desa Sindutan, Desa Palihan, Desa Kebonrejo, Desa Temon Kulon, dan Desa Glagah. Namun demikian, meskipun konflik muncul dan terdapat penentangan dari banyak pihak termasuk dari analisis dampak lingkungan, pembangunan Bandara NYIA ini tetap dibangun dan selesai pada tahun 2019, bahkan saat ini telah beroperasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap dampak sosial dan ekonomi yang dirasakan oleh warga lokal di Desa Jangkaran, Desa Sindutan, Desa Palihan, Desa Kebonrejo, Desa Temon Kulon, dan Desa Glagah pasca pembangunan Bandara NYIA. Apakah warga lokal mendapatkan jaminan ekonomi dan sosial atas pembangunan Bandara NYIA? Data didapat dengan menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif melalui teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, FGD, dan wawancara mendalam dengan warga desa di lokasi penelitian serta stakeholders lain yang terlibat. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga dukungan data sekunder dari penelusuran di internet. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian masyarakat mampu beradaptasi dengan perubahan kondisi sosial ekonomi pasca pembangunan NYIA. Mereka bisa mendapatkan pekerjaan baru yang lebih baik dari sebelumnya sehingga secara sosial-ekonomi meraka lebih sejahtera. Namun demikian sebagian masyarakat masih belum mampu beradaptasi sehingga masih dalam lingkaran kemiskinan yang membelenggu mereka.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a negative impact on the socio-economic conditions of the people in Indonesia. During the pandemic, Islamic philanthropic institutions have played a significant role in strengthening the community's economy through various empowerment programs. Institut Kemandirian (IK), skills and entrepreneurship training institute, owned by Dompet Dhuafa is one of the philanthropic institutions in Indonesia that actively contributes in handling socio-economic impacts during the pandemic. This study aims to determine the roles, opportunities, and challenges faced by the Dompet Dhuafa in helping to restore and improve the welfare of citizens during the pandemic. The research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews with program managers and implementers, and documentation. The results of the study revealed that Institute Kemandirian (IK) Dompet Dhuafa had carried out various kinds of community economic empowerment programs. Opportunities and challenges they face include the difficulty of finding beneficiaries of assistance and issues in licensing program implementation in several regions in Indonesia. However, these obstacles actually lead to more effective empowerment program innovations, namely by utilizing various digital platforms.Pandemi Covid-19 telah memberikan dampak buruk bagi kondisi sosial-ekonomi masyarakat di Indonesia. Pada masa ini, lembaga-lembaga filantropi Islam telah memberikan peran signifikan dalam menguatkan ekonomi masyarakat melalui berbagai program pemberdayaan. Institut Kemandirian (IK), lembaga pelatihan keterampilan wirausaha milik Dompet Dhuafa, merupakan salah satu lembaga filantropi di Indonesia yang memiliki peran tersebut dan berkontribusi aktif dalam penanganan dampak sosial-ekonomi di masa pandemi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran, peluang, dan tantangan yang dihadapi Dompet Dhuafa dalam membantu memulihkan dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan warga di masa pandemi. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam terhadap manager dan pelaksana program, serta studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa Institute Kemandirian (IK) Dompet Dhuafa telah melakukan berbagai macam program pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat. Peluang dan tantangan yang mereka hadapi diantaranya adalah sulitnya mencari penerima manfaat bantuan dan persoalan perijinan pelaksanaan program di beberapa daerah di Indonesia. Meski demikian, hambatan tersebut justru memunculkan inovasi program pemberdayaan yang lebih efektif yaitu dengan memanfaatkan berbagai platform digital.

Abstract

Tourism is one of the most affected industries by the COVID-19 pandemic. Globally, in less than 6 months after the outbreak of the epidemic, this sector experienced a decline of up to 74%--as it set back to 1990s. However, many tourism-related studies include the keyword or even the title 'post-pandemic' which implies a nuance of optimism for the tourism sector. Using a systematic literature review (SLR), this article explores studies that include keywords and topics 'post-pandemic' in global and Indonesian contexts. Three main points were found: First, there is a global fact that local scale tourism is more sustainable than regional and international tourism. Second, behind the losses due to the decline in income during the pandemic, there is a hidden benefit in the form of restoring natural resources that have been damaged by tourism activities. Third, the emergence of a more systematic mapping of tourist preferences in determining tourist destinations and activities, which is more oriented towards safety, health, and strengthening social relationships with family and colleagues rather than excitement and offering lower cost discounts. The article also found that most post-pandemic tourism recommendations tend to be non-operational due to their failure to provide an operational definition of what the meaning of 'post-pandemic'.Pariwisata merupakan salah satu industri yang paling terdampak akibat pandemi Covid-19. Secara global, dalam waktu kurang dari 6 bulan setelah mewabahnya epidemi, sektor ini mengalami penurunan hingga 74%--kembali ke volume tahun 1990. Namun, banyak penelitian terkait pariwisata memasukkan kata kunci atau bahkan judul 'pasca pandemi' yang menyiratkan nuansa optimisme terhadap sektor ini untuk bangkit. Dengan menggunakan sistematika literature review (SLR), artikel ini mengeksplorasi kajian yang memasukkan kata kunci dan topik 'pasca-pandemi' dalam konteks global dan Indonesia. Tiga poin utama ditemukan: Pertama, adanya fakta global bahwa pariwisata skala lokal lebih berkelanjutan daripada pariwisata regional dan internasional. Kedua, di balik kerugian akibat penurunan pendapatan selama pandemi, terdapat keuntungan tersembunyi berupa pemulihan sumber daya alam yang telah rusak akibat kegiatan pariwisata. Ketiga, munculnya pemetaan preferensi wisatawan yang lebih sistematis dalam menentukan destinasi dan kegiatan wisata, yang lebih berorientasi pada keselamatan, kesehatan, dan penguatan hubungan sosial dengan keluarga dan rekan kerja daripada kegembiraan dan penawaran diskon biaya yang lebih rendah. Artikel tersebut juga menemukan bahwa sebagian besar rekomendasi pariwisata pasca-pandemi cenderung tidak operasional karena kegagalan mereka untuk memberikan definisi operasional tentang apa itu 'pasca-pandemi'.

Abstract

This article intends to discuss the thoughts of M. Quraish Shihab, Hussein Muhammad, and Nasaruddin Umar in interpreting polygamy in Islam. The practice of polygamy in Indonesian society has always been a controversial debate for the public. Even the media also brought the issue through films and video documentaries about the practices of polygamy in Indonesia. This phenomenon can indirectly affect the perspective and thinking of the community regarding the legitimacy of polygamy in the socio-cultural context of Indonesian society. Therefore, it is very important to examine the thoughts of the three Indonesian Islamic figures above as a mirror to see how the Indonesian Muslim community should interpret polygamy. This article was compiled based on qualitative research through library research and searching virtual data on the internet. The results showed that the perspectives of the three Islamic figures were very relevant and contextual to be applied in analyzing the phenomenon of polygamy in Indonesia. However, the meaning of polygamy within the society is still tend to be literal. Therefore, a more comprehensive perspective is needed and more attention to local aspects is also required so that polygamy can be placed fairly within society.Artikel ini bermaksud untuk membedah pemikiran M. Quraish Shihab, Hussein Muhammad, dan Nasaruddin Umar dalam memaknai poligami dalam Islam. Praktik poligami di masyarakat Indonesia selalu menjadi isu yang hangat dibicarakan oleh publik. Bahkan media turut membawa isu tersebut melalui film dan video dokumenter tentang praktik-praktik poligami di Indonesia. Fenomena ini secara tidak langsung dapat mempengaruhi cara pandang dan berpikir pada masyarakat berkenaan dengan keabsahan poligami dalam konteks sosial budaya masyarakat Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, sangat penting untuk mengkaji pemikiran tiga (3) tokoh Islam Indonesia di atas sebagai cermin untuk melihat bagaimana seharusnya masyarakat Muslim Indonesia memaknai poligami. Artikel ini disusun berdasarkan penelitian kuatitatif melalui studi pustaka dan penelusuran data-data virtual di internet. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perspektif ketiga tokoh Islam tersebut sangat relevan dan kontekstual untuk diterapkan dalam membaca fenomena poligami di Indonesia. Mengingat selama ini pemaknaan masyarakat terhadap poligami masih literal, dan diperlukan perspektif yang lebih komprehensif dan memperhatikan aspek kelokalan agar poligami dapat didudukkan secara adil di masyarakat.

Abstract

The most important function of religious rituals is to accept the expression of shared values and goals in society. This function combines social awareness with patterns of interaction in creating solidarity. Currently, social distancing has been seen by many Indonesians as the cause of the degradation of the value of spiritual intimacy in religious rituals. Meanwhile, the need to accept the “New Normal” in all aspects of daily life is absolute for citizens. Therefore, a new conception of this claim is certainly needed to accommodate the pressure in the adaptation process to the "New Normality of Ritual". This study examines the efforts of digital volunteerism to reconstruct religious consciousness among religious people in Indonesia. The research was conducted with descriptive qualitative methods and using Sociology as an approach in the analysis. The results of this study indicate that digital volunteerism efforts can gradually reconstruct religious consciousness in the community, especially during the pandemic. Eventually, this reconstructed religious consciousness will be able to strengthen social cohesion that was previously reduced when social distancing policies were implemented during the pandemic.Fungsi terpenting dari ritual keagamaan adalah menerima ekspresi nilai dan tujuan bersama dalam masyarakat. Fungsi ini menggabungkan kesadaran sosial dengan pola interaksi dalam mendorong solidaritas. Saat ini, social distancing telah dilihat oleh banyak umat beragama di Indonesia sebagai penyebab degradasi nilai keintiman spiritual dalam ritual keagamaan. Sementara itu, kebutuhan untuk menerima “New Normal” dalam segala aspek kehidupan sehari-hari adalah mutlak bagi warga negara. Oleh karena itu, konsepsi baru atas klaim ini tentu diperlukan untuk mengakomodir tekanan dalam proses adaptasi terhadap "ritual kenormalan baru". Penelitian ini mengkaji upaya voluntarisme digital untuk merekonstruksi kesadaran beragama di kalangan umat beragama di Indonesia. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif dan menggunakan Sosiologi sebagai pendekatan dalam analisis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa upaya voluntarisme digital secara bertahap dapat merekonstruksi kesadaran keagamaan pada masyarakat khususnya di masa pandemi. Pada tahap selanjutnya, kesadaran keagamaan yang terekonstruksi ini dapat memperkuat kohesi sosial yang sebelumnya telah tereduksi ketika kebijakan social distancing diterapkan di masa pandemi.

Abstract

New media has provided a wider space for religious preachers to convey their da'wah messages to the public. This raises the consequence of the increase of da'wah contents that are not properly filtered by religious authorities, including the discourse of conspiracy. In Indonesia, Rahmat Baequni is one of the controversial Muslim preachers who spreads Islamic discourse and conspiracies through YouTube and has a large number of followers (netizens). This article was compiled based on qualitative research with the aim of discussing how Rahmat Baequni built his religious authority on social media through the conspiracy discourse. The results showed that Rahmat Baequni's story telling techniques and interesting way in his delivery were able to 'attract' young people to believe and follow the messages of his lectures. On the other hand, this phenomenon has raised pros and cons among netizens regarding the validity of the conspiracy discourse initiated by Rahmat Baequni.New media telah memberikan ruang yang luas bagi para penceramah agama untuk menyampaikan pesan-pesan dakwahnya ke masyarakat. Hal ini memunculkan konsekuensi maraknya konten-konten dakwah yang tidak terfilter dengan baik oleh otoritas keagamaan, termasuk dalam hal ini adalah wacana konspirasi. Di Indonesia, Rahmat Baequni adalah salah satu penceramah Muslim kontroversial yang menyebarkan wacana Islam dan konspirasi melalui Youtube dan memiliki followers (netizen) dengan jumlah yang banyak. Artikel ini disusun berdasarkan penelitian kualitatif dengan maksud untuk membahas bagaimana Rahmat Baequni membangun otoritas keagamaannya di sosial media melalui wacana konspirasi.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teknik story telling dan penyampaian yang menarik dari Rahmat Baequni mampu ‘menarik’ anak-anak muda untuk mempercayai dan mengikuti pesan-pesan ceramahnya tersebut. Di sisi lain, fenomena ini telah memunculkan pro dan kontra di kalangan netizen tentang keabsahan wacana konspirasi yang digagas oleh Rahmat Baequni.

Abstract

Social restrictions during the pandemic have caused Islamic authorities in Indonesia to create a number of adaptations of religious rituals. Worship and socio-religious activities that were previously carried out offline (traditionally) have 'moved' to digital platforms. Through a descriptive qualitative research approach with virtual data collection techniques on the internet and social media, this article aims to discuss the phenomenon of disruption of Islamic ritual practices in Indonesia during the pandemic. The results show that this disruption phenomenon has led to a number of debates about the validity and reduction of the sacredness of certain worship practices in Islam. However, on the other hand, the process of disrupting religious ritual facilities has also become a new innovation for Islamic organizations such as NU and Muhammadiyah to organize certain worship practices that require a larger mass and cross regions using digital platforms, for example, the practice of praying together (istighosah), dhikr together (tahlilan), and religious lectures.Pembatasan sosial di masa pandemi menyebabkan otoritas Islam di Indonesia melakukan sejumlah adaptasi ritual keagamaan. Kegiatan ibadah dan sosial-agama yang sebelumnya dilaksanakan secara offline (tradisional) telah ‘berpindah’ ke platform digital. Melalui pendekatan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data virtual di internet dan sosial media, artikel ini bermaksud untuk membahas fenomena disrupsi religiusitas Islam di Indonesia di masa pandemi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fenomena disrupsi ini telah memunculkan sejumlah perdebatan tentang keabsahan dan reduksi sakralitas praktik ibadah tertentu dalam Islam. Namun demikian, di sisi lain proses disrupsi sarana ritual keagamaan ini juga telah menjadi inovasi baru bagi organisasi Islam seperti NU dan Muhammadiyah untuk penyelenggaraan praktik ibadah tertentu yang memerlukan massa lebih besar dan lintas daerah. Seperti misalnya praktik doa bersama (istighosah), dzikir bersama (tahlilan), dan ceramah-ceramah agama.
