Abstract

UMKM plays an important role in supporting the economy in Indonesia. As one of the steps to reduce poverty, the govwordernment should pay more attention to the growth of its UMKM based on existing data. Data of UMKM collected from 2014 to 2018 in several economic sectors such as the leather industry, Metal Industry, Woven Industry, Pottery Industry, Fabric Industry, Food and Beverage Industry, and Other Industry can be used as government guidelines in efforts to solve poverty problems by processing them using k-means algorithm. The research was carried out using the CRISP-DM method and K-Means algorithm to determine the cluster of provinces so that the policy or decision making can be made more wisely. By using RapidMiner, data processing can be done quickly. The result of the study shows that DBI values of each data using 5 as k are 0.308, 0.312, 0.259, 0.272, 0.333, 0.369, 0.289, and 0.266. Based on that, Jawa Timur and Jawa Tengah have a large industrial growth while Jawa Barat seems to start leaving traditional industries. Besides, the other provinces' industrial growth appears to be stable. It is expected that the government would make wise policies to support the growth of UMKM in Indonesia.

Abstract

The user interface has a substantial and influential role because it becomes a direct liaison between the application system and its users and shapes each user's perception of the Bersii application. Bersii application is created to reduce single-use plastic waste in Indonesia to build and increase public awareness of the importance of protecting the environment. The Bersii mobile application has features such as product refills to reduce the use of plastic waste. This paper designs the user interface (UI) of the Bersii mobile application for buying refill products. The user interface (UI) design results will be tested using usability and User Experience (UX). The usability test uses the System Usability Scale (SUS), and the UX test uses the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). The results of usability testing obtained a score of 79, which was included in the category “good". In each aspect of the UEQ test, it obtained the following scores:  attractiveness 2,11, perspicuity 1,71, efficiency 1,98, dependability 1,89, stimulation 2,01, and novelty 1,45. Overall, the results of the UEQ testing were included in the category "good”.

Abstract

COVID-19 pandemic has significantly reduced most of MSME revenue, including Pelangi Nusantara Singhasari Foundation (PELANUSA). Market demand has decreased drastically, many activities and production have been delayed, which have an impact on the decline in sales turnover. This forces all activities to shift to the digital realm to ensure business continuity. In fact, the process of migrating community activities from conventional systems to digitalization poses a new problem for the management. The use of platforms that are still fragmented, the lack of knowledge of digital marketing concepts, to the limitations of the management in carrying out empowerment activities, especially for members of the disabled community. Seeing this phenomenon, Institut Asia Malang collaborated with PT. Ina Gata Persada proposed an innovative solution in the form of a digital empowerment application called PELAWONS (PELANUSA for Women and Disabilities). To achieve the suitability of the purpose of PELAWONS with functionality and timeliness, it takes an analysis and proper software design. SCRUM is considered to be able to produce good quality software according to user desires, can be used in large and small projects, and easy to adopt changes. We developed PELAWONS refers to the five main steps on SCRUM process: establishing SCRUM team, defining list of the product backlogs, arranging the sprint phase, analyzing the progress through daily scrum, and evaluating the result with sprint review. SCRUM methodology adoption in designing PELAWONS proven to be able to accelerate the application development process and reduce the risk of project failure through system flexibility.

Abstract

Abstract—The cognitive learning approach through visual media is a characteristic of learning for deaf students because these students can receive learning more quickly. However, this method became an obstacle when this process was online conducted because of the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on the explanation, a need for media learning based on interactive media can help students in the studying process. This research focuses on developing learning media using User Center Design (UCD) method to a center for the development system. In this research, we develop a user interface (UI) for deaf students, especially in the Putra Asih inclusive school in the city of Kediri, Indonesia. The evaluation of this research using ISO-9241 shows the effectiveness of using the application obtained 87,15%, effectiveness of the user interface design obtained 80,05%, and user satisfaction obtained 71,18% where all parameters make sense and acceptable based on a response from the users.

Abstract

Abstract— This article discusses the Variance Inflation Factor (VIF), a tool used to test the assumption of non-multicollinearity in regression analysis. VIF measures the correlation between variables in a regression model and its impact on the accuracy of analysis results. The article highlights that VIF can also be used to determine the presence of multicollinearity among variables in various types of analyses, including Hierarchical Cluster Analysis. While there are several programs or packages available to calculate VIF, they usually require a dependent variable input. To address this issue, the author aims to create a new package using Python to calculate VIF without the need for a dependent variable input. The program calculates VIF using the sequential elimination method, which involves removing one variable at each iteration of the for loop. In use, the user needs to input data in the form of a matrix, and the program will return a list of VIFs and information about the presence of multicollinearity in the data. The program provides an alternative method for evaluating multivariate data and the presence of multicollinearity, making the testing process easier and faster for data analysts and researchers.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the variations in land cover in Batu City, East Java Province, Indonesia, utilizing a patch-based classification strategy and deep learning. This study provides a preliminary estimation of land cover change in Batu City. The research also highlights the possibility of using deep learning techniques to analyze land use and land cover (LULC) variations in other urban areas with greater precision and efficiency. The EuroSAT dataset is used to train a classification model for patch labeling using the ResNet-50 architecture. Comparing the land cover of Batu City in 2001 and 2022 allows us to detect LULC changes, with almost 50% of the patch changing. The results indicate that ‘Housing’ and ‘Road’ become the most changed categories, while the vegetation areas decrease in number. The results demonstrate that the ResNet-50 architecture is capable of classifying patches and detecting LULC changes with an accuracy of 88% and an execution time of approximately 126.53 seconds.

Abstract

This research article discusses the evaluation of the e-thesis information system in the Library and Information Science program at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The background of this research is that the system is relatively new and is supported by several preliminary surveys conducted among users, most of whom are unfamiliar with the use of this e-thesis application system. The research population was taken from all students of the Library and Information Science Department in the 2018 and 2019 academic years, with a research sample of 50 students. The honeycomb method was used as the analysis tool for the evaluation, which emphasizes how UX can go beyond just usability aspects for users. The assessment aspects in the honeycomb method include useful, usable, desirable, findable, accessible, credible, and valuable. The research results showed that the overall average value of the e-thesis information system was 4.10, indicating that the e-thesis system is considered good in terms of its use. The highest score of 4.23 was found in the useful aspect, indicating that students agreed that the e-thesis information system could solve user problems and meet their needs. The lowest score of 3.93 was found in the accessible aspect, which needs improvement for future development of the information system. Indicators that need attention for improvement include less appealing design and the need to enhance capabilities. Suggested improvements include visual design, an advance search button, display of two thesis advisors, UI refresh, minimizing errors, and detailed schedule display on the homepage. Improving the existing features according to the research conducted can have a wide impact on the use of the information system and can be used continuously without errors.
