Abstract

Application development engine in the heavy equipment is currently lead to the development of environmentally friendly technologies but with a better performance without changing the size or dimensions of the engine. Performance comparison analysis between Cummins engine applications which use single and double turbocharger to the performance, efficiency and fuel comsumtion required to provide a reference for users of heavy equipment unit (customer). This research was conducted at PT. Altrak Balikpapan branch in 1978 as a distributor of Cummins engines Indonesia. The research object is the Cummins engine type "K50" series with KTA-50 engine models and KTTA-50. Achievement of maximum engine power in the can with the provision of 100% load at 1900 rpm engine speed, which amounted to 1798 HP at KTA-50 and 1993 HP at KTTA-50. The increase in the value of the torque which can be different from the values ??of engine power, because the maximum torque is not in a position rated speed but at 100% load at 1500 rpm engine speed. This position is often referred to as the peak torque and the maximum torque values ??in may of 1487 lb.ft at KTA-50 and 1656 lb.ft at KTTA-50. The result of the calculation is theoretically found also that with the increase in engine power then an increase in fuel consumption linearly. The thermal efficiency of the engine KTTA-50 amounted to 42.29% larger than the engine-50 summit that only 42.23%.

Abstract

Applications of integrated photovoltaic electrical energy promises 'clean and mean'. People considered 'clean' because there is no exhaust emissions or pollutants and is considered 'saving' because it does not require fuel. In the tropics, sunshine reaching Earth's surface. Sunlight is the source of electrical energy. Electrical energy is urgently needed in the refugee camps in remote areas (remote areas) and or a natural disaster. In such locations, providing electrical energy becomes a major problem. Generator sets are easy to use but the problem is the availability of fuel oil. Transportation of fuel to remote locations make the price of fuel becomes economically feasible. On the other hand, solar electric energy can be obtained free of charge at the site, without the distribution line and without transmission. The price of solar power is the price of the device alone, being free electricity. Solar power generation is to be constructed. Increased capacity is easy to do because only adds to the module unit. Methods of laboratory experiments conducted in outer space. Book study to identify the needs of a wide and electrical load of refugees activity. Experiments in the laboratory standardization of outdoor space to get daily energy output. It is also related to the need and the unit load. Experiments were also conducted to standardize the system, the test model of a solar power plant integrated multipurpose, build a prototype.

Abstract

On the centrifugal impeller is a part that converts the mechanical energy (energy in the blades of the impeller) is passed on to the pump power and efficiency as a result of (their fluid friction losses) due to changes in the flow direction of the blades of the impeller. To obtain performance centrifugal pump impeller, so it needed a thorough analysis, one of which is the analytic geometry. To speed up the process and analytical results are accurate then use the software. In this analysis used software Turbo CF 9.2.8. In this analysis used primary data in the form of geometric parameters of centrifugal pumpa as an input to the software used. The conclusions in the can are the theoretical performance data from the pump impeller type can be generated quickly and accurately.

Abstract

Environmental pollution and fuel savings are a significant problem for the life of the future. The need-based electric vehicle that can replace the use of energy. Therefore, the hybrid vehicle is a vehicle that is right for a solution to reduce environmental pollution and save fuel. In addition to the hybrid vehicle has several sections, among which the use of electric motors. The aim is to meet the energy needs of a DC electric motor as a vehicle drive hybrid cars, so as to determine the electric motor in accordance with the needs and characteristics of the hybrid car. Besides the basic principle is to try to design a machine that relate to the needs of its specifications. Then obtained the results of research on the use of current and voltage when the gas pedal is pressed / stamped starts from 10o - 50o can be concluded that the more the gas pedal board, the increasing speed with an electric motor rotation of 794 (rpm), 47.56 voltage (volts ), the current 20.3 (ampere), then the required power DC electric motor that is equal to 984.75 (watts).

Abstract

Volvo Excavator EC700B crawler type used in coal mining to remove coal and top soil. The maximum capacity of the bucket according to the standard Volvo Construction Equipment is 8.28 tonnes, but the actual experience in the field bucket overloaded with cargo capacity increased to 12.14 tonnes. This study analyzes the components of arm strength when holding the bucket on the working conditions of overload. Materials made of ASTM A36 arm with allowable stress limit (yielding point) of 290 N / mm2. The results showed the increase in value of the force and stress on the arm component loading conditions overload at 28-32% of normal loading conditions. The maximum voltage occurs at the bracket arm hydraulic cylinder that is equal to 150.4 N / mm2. The voltage value is smaller than the allowable stress of material, so the material at arm component complies with the standards of eligibility and declared safe.

Abstract

Process that uses a CNC lathe is required to have the results of surface roughness (roughness) is small with a definite degree of roughness. To get the product that has a surface roughness as expected, can be influenced by several factors one of which is the thickness of the funeral. The purpose of this study to determine the extent of the influence of the thickness of the funeral to the surface roughness at S45C material. This research was carried out on the shaft material S45C specimens with diameter of 50 mm with a rotary speed of 1600 rpm using a CNC turning machine MT3040. Ingestion thickness variation using a 0.1 mm; 0.15 mm; 0.2 mm; 0.25 mm and 0.3 mm. Ingestion of motion while using only 0.15 mm / rotation by using a chisel insert VCMT 160 404 with a chisel tip radius of 0.4 mm. Results of research for the material S45C 50 mm diameter suitable parameter is the funeral 0.15 mm thick at 1600 rpm rotation produces minimum roughness Ry, Rmax = 11.76 ?m and 0.10 mm thick feeds at 1600 rpm rotation Ra = 2.67 ?m, and Rz = 11.03 lm. Meanwhile, if the funeral 0.30 mm thick and round 1400 rpm generate greater roughness is Ra = 3.65 ?m, Ry (Rmax) = 16.07 ?m and Rz = 13.28 lm
