Abstract

The cognitive network suffers from scarcity of channels. The Unlicensed users (UU) borrow channels from the licensed users (LU). But when the LUs want them, the UUs have to stop their transmission and handle the channel back to the LUs. This results in delay in transmission of data by UUs. We propsed  an algorithm mostly focusing to meet the delay,by using a data cascading technique where the data of the UUs are stored in the intermediate nodes so that even if the transmission is interrupted, the data is not lost. The experimental results show that proposed system is better than other existing systems.

Abstract

Madura Batik Virtual Fitting Room using double difference algorithms motion detection is proposed in this research. This virtual fitting room consists of three main stages, i.e. motion detection, determination of region of interest of the detected motion, superimposed the virtual clothes into the region of interest. The double difference algorithm is used for the motion detection stage, since in this algorithm, the empty frame as the reference frame is not required. The double difference algorithm uses the previous and next frame to detect the motion in the current frame. Perception Test Images Sequences Dataset are used as the data of the experiment to measure the performance accuracy of this algorithm before the algorithm is used for the Madura batik virtual fitting room. The accuracy is 57.31%, 99.71%, and 78.52% for the sensitivity, specificity, and balanced accuracy, respectively. The build Madura batik virtual fitting room in this research can be used as the added feature of the Madura batik online stores, hence the consumer is able to see whether the clothes is fitted to them or not, and this virtual fitting room is also can be used as the promotion of Madura batik broadly.

Abstract

The increase in peatland fire’s intensity has encouraged people to develop methods of preventing wildfire. One of the prevention methods is recognizing the distribution pattern of hotspot as one of forest and land fire indicators. We could determine the area that has high fires density based on distribution patterns so any early prevention steps could be performed in that area. This research proposed to recognize the distribution pattern of hotspot clusters in the peatland areas in Sumatera in the year 2014 using Kulldorff’s Scan Statistics (KSS) method with Poisson model. This approach was specifically designed to detect clusters and assess their significance via Monte Carlo replication. Results showed that the method is reliable to detect the clusters of hotspots which have the accuracy of 95%. Riau and South Sumatera province have the highest density of cluster distributions of the hotspot. Based on the maturity level of peat, cluster distributions of hotspot were mostly found in ‘hemic’ maturity level. Based on peatland thickness, cluster distribution of hotspot was mostly found in ‘very deep’ thickness.

Abstract

In this paper, an inventory model for deteriorating items under two levels of trade credit will be established. The trade credit policy depends on the retailer’s order quantity. When the retailer’s order quantity is greater than or equal to a predetermined quantity, both of the supplier and the retailer are taking trade credit policy; otherwise, the delay in payments is not permitted. Since the same cash amount has different values at different points of time, the discount cash-flow (DCF) is used to analysis the inventory model. The purpose of this paper is to find an optimal ordering policy to minimizing the present value of all future cash-flows cost by using DCF approach. The method to determine the optimal ordering policy efficiently is presented. Some numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the model and sensitivity of some important parameters are illustrated the optimal solutions.

Abstract

For a class of nonlinear system with parameter perturbation and external disturbance, adaptive fuzzy control can be used to approach the system unknown functions to reduce the control input and the steady-state error. And an adaptive switch control gain whose adaptive law is decreasing function is designed to weaken the system chattering, the switch gain of estimate will increase on the basis of the original without decreasing with the elimination of interference. If system is interferenced many times. Against the shortcomings, this paper proposes an improved adaptive law that can weaken the system chattering effectively while maintaining the strong robustness. The simulation results by tests show that this method is correct and effective.

Abstract

This paper presents a current ripple analysis of new double-stator AC drive system. At first, a new double-stator AC drive system is proposed. The aim is to combine the benefits both the multilevel and multiphase system to provide the better performance to drive AC motor. The input and output current ripples of the proposed AC drive system are then analyzed. The current ripples of the proposed AC drive system are then compared to the ones of conventional double-stator AC drive system. Under the same DC input voltage, it is shown that the proposed results in less output current ripple. Under the same output voltage, the proposed AC drive system results in smaller input current and, therefore, fewer losses on the DC power supply. Experimental results are included to show the validity of the proposed concept.

Abstract

In this paper, we present a new direct access strategy for speaker identification system. DAMClass is a method for direct access strategy that speeds up the identification process without decreasing the identification rate drastically. This proposed method uses speaker classification strategy based on human voice’s original characteristics, such as pitch, flatness, brightness, and roll off. DAMClass decomposes available dataset into smaller sub-datasets in the form of classes or buckets based on the similarity of speaker’s original characteristics. DAMClass builds speaker dataset index based on range-based indexing of direct access facility and uses Nearest Neighbor Search, Range-Based Searching, and Multiclass-SVM Mapping as its access method. Experiments show that the direct access strategy with Multiclass-SVM algorithm outperforms the indexing accuracy of Range-Based Indexing and Nearest Neighbor for one to nine percent. DAMClass is shown to speed up the identification process 16 times faster than sequential access method with 91.05% indexing accuracy.

Abstract

Rank fusion meta-search engine algorithms can be used to merge web search results of multiple search engines. In this paper we introduce two variants of the Weighted Borda-Fuse algorithm. The first variant retrieves documents based on popularities of component engines. The second one is based on k user-defined toplist of component engines. In this research, experiments were performed on k={50,100,200} toplist with AND/OR combinations implemented on ‘UNIB Meta Fusion’ meta-search engine prototype which employed 3 out of 5 popular search engines. Both of our two algorithms outperformed other rank fusion algorithms (relevance score is upto 0.76 compare to Google that is 0.27, at P@10). The pseudo-relevance automatic judgement techniques involved are Reciprocal Rank, Borda Count, and Condorcet. The optimal setting was reached for queries with operator "AND" (degree 1) or "AND ... AND" (degree 2) with k=200. The ‘UNIB Meta Fusion’ meta-search engine system was built correctly.

Abstract

In order to generate wireless microwave power charging technology in coal mine tunnels, it is necessary to know the power characteristics of wireless electromagnetic wave along the tunnel walls. In this paper, the experimental results of narrowband wireless electromagnetic wave propagation measurements are presented, and a statistical model of the power characteristics at 2.4 GHz in real rectangular mine tunnels is proposed. Two standard half-wave dipole antennas were used to perform the field experiments in tunnels with different wall materials. A 10-meter wireless charging distance belongs to the free-space propagation zone. The path loss exponents rely heavily on the location of the receiver and antenna polarizations. To obtain more power, the locations of the receiver should match the corresponding polarizations.

Abstract

As an important preprocessing step of information retrieval and information processing, the accuracy of stop words’ elimination directly influences the ultimate result of retrieval and mining. In information retrieval, stop words’ elimination can compress the storage space of index, and in text mining, it can reduce the dimension of vector space enormously, save the storage space of vector space and speed up the calculation. However, Chinese patents are a kind of legal documents containing technical information, and the general Chinese stop words list is not applicable for them. This paper advances two methodologies for Chinese patents. One is based on word frequency and the other on statistics. Through experiments on real patents data, these two methodologies’ accuracy are compared under several corpuses with different scale, and also compared with general stop list. The experiment result indicates that both of these two methodologies can extract the stop words suitable for Chinese patents and the accuracy of Methodology based on statistics is a little higher than the one based on word frequency.
