Abstract

This paper is under in-depth investigation due to suspicion of possible plagiarism on a high similarity indexmage fusion is a useful tool for integrating low spatial resolution multispectral (MS) images with a high spatial resolution panchromatic (PAN) image, thus producing a high resolution multispectral image for better understanding of the observed earth surface. It has  has become an important issue for various remotes sensing (RS) problems such as land classification, change detection, object identification, image segmentation, map updating, hazard monitoring, and visualization purposes. When applied to remote sensing images, a common problem associated with existing fusion methods has been the color distortion, or degradation in the spectral quality. The main proposed of this research  is to evaluate the quality of fused images for object identification. We examine the effectiveness of the following techniques  multi-resolution analysis (MRA) and component substitution (CS) fusion. In order to improve this situation, the second purpose of this work is to establish an automatic and reliable way for the evaluation of the fused images, on the basis of both qualitative and quantitative metrics. In this result, It is found that the CS fusion method provides better performance than the MRA scheme. Quantitative analysis shows that the CS-based method gives a better result in terms of spatial quality (sharpness), whereas the MRA-based method yields better spectral quality, i.e., better color fidelity to the original MS images.

Abstract

Multi-objective evolutionary algorithm is a powerful tool in resolving multi-objective optimization problems. This algorithm inherits the advantages of parallel random search, strong global searching capability and the ability to solve highly-complicated non-linear problems of evolutionary algorithm and it is usually used in the optimization problems with multiple mutual conflicts. However, such algorithms are slow in convergence and easy to be trapped in local optimal solution. This paper proposes a multi-objective dual population genetic algorithm (MODPGA) and explores the improvement strategies of multi-objective genetic algorithm. The adoption of self-adaption and dual population strategy can guarantee that the algorithm of this paper can converge to Pareto solution set in a reliable and quick manner and it can perform more extensive search on the objective function space and conduct more samples on multi-objective functions so as to be closer to the approximate optimal solution set of global optimal solutions. This solution set also includes more optimal feasible points and provides reliable basis for the decision making.

Abstract

Objective of research is to analyze the influence of solar irradiance and integration of  photovoltaic (PV) generator to power quality of three phase grid on the constant temperature and load, based on changes in some level of integration of  PV generator. Power quality aspects studied are fluctuation or changing, and harmonics of voltage and current on eight scenarios PV generator connected to three-phase grid, using passive filter circuit model double band pass (double tuned). Research shows that voltage and current values on the PCC bus before use double tuned passive filter on the condition only connect single generator is still stable. However, if the PV generator connected to the three phase grid, amounted to more than one generation, voltage and current grid becomes unstable (fluctuation). At the level of solar radiation remains, the greater number of PV generators connected to the grid three-phase, then the values of voltage and current THD increases. At the level of solar irradiance increases, average THD of voltage and current grid also increased. Avarage THD of voltage and current grid is reduced after double tuned passive filter installed. Therefore, double tuned passive filter able to improve profile of voltage and current THD grid as a result of the integration of a number of PV power generators in three-phase grid according IEEE Standard 519-1992. Simulation and analysis of this research use Matlab/Simulink.

Abstract

Automatic multi-document summaries had been developed by researchers. The method used to select sentences from the source document would determine the quality of the summary result. One of the most popular methods used in weighting sentences was by calculating the frequency of occurrence of words forming the sentences. However, choosing sentences with that method could lead to a chosen sentence which didn't represent the content of the source document optimally. This was because the weighting of sentences was only measured by using the number of occurrences of words. This study proposed a new strategy of weighting sentences based on sentences distribution to choose the most important sentences which paid much attention to the elements of sentences that were formed as a distribution of words. This method of sentence distribution enables the extraction of an important sentence in multi-document summarization which served as a strategy to improve the quality of sentence summaries. In that respect were three concepts used in this study: (1) clustering sentences with similarity based histogram clustering, (2) ordering cluster by cluster importance and (3) selection of important sentence by sentence distribution. Results of experiments showed that the proposed method had a better performance when compared with SIDeKiCK and LIGI methods. Results of ROUGE-1 showed the proposed method increasing 3% compared with the SIDeKiCK method and increasing 5.1% compared with LIGI method. Results of ROUGE-2 proposed method increase 13.7% compared with the SIDeKiCK and increase 14.4% compared with LIGI method.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze morphological techniques for feature extraction of Jabon’s leaf seedling pathogen using digital microscopic image. The kinds of the pathogen were Curvularia sp., Colletotrichum sp., and Fusarium sp.. Pathogens or causes of disease were identified manually based on macroscopic and microscopic observation of morphological characters. Morphological characters describe the characteristics of shape, color and size of a pathogen structure. We focused on shape feature by using the morphological techniques to feature extraction. The morphology features extraction used were area, perimeter, convex area, convex perimeter, compactness, solidity, convexity, and roundness. The methodologies were acquisition, preprocessing, features extraction and data analysis for derivative features. With features extraction, we got the pattern that described each pathogen for pathogen identification. From the experimental result showed that compactness and roundness feature were able to differentiate each pathogen due to that the characteristics of each pathogen class were separated.

Abstract

In view of the question that the energy-constrained sensor nodes affect the normal operation of the whole system due to the short survival period, in this paper we present a new solution of adaptive energy management from the angle of context-aware computing. In different scenario modes, we take different environment acquisition and communication strategy according to scenario parameters, and thus build the context-aware energy management model. Finally, we extend the whole system life by lowering energy consumption of single internet of things vehicle node. Experimental data show that the energy management plan of context-aware wireless sensor nodes effectively reduces the energy consumption of nodes and extends the system life under the premise of providing reliable services.

Abstract

A novel method for eliminating noise from a noised speech signal in order to improve its quality using combined power spectral subtraction and multi-layer perceptron network is presented in this paper. Firstly, the contaminated speech signal was processed by spectral subtraction to enhance the clean speech signal. Then, the signal was processed by a neural network using the spectral subtraction parameters and result of estimated speech signal in order to improve its signal quality and intelligibility. The artificial neural network used was multi-layer perceptron network consisted of three layers with six input and one output. The neural network was trained with three speech signals contaminated with two level white gaussian noises in SNR including 0 dB and 30dB. The designed speech enhancement was examined with ten noised speech signals. Based on the experiments, the improvement of signal quality SNR was up to 7 dB when the signal quality input was 0dB. Then, based on the PESQ score, the proposed method can improve up to 0.4 from its origin value. Those experiment results show that the proposed method is capable to improve both the signal quality and intelligibility better than the original power spectral subtraction.

Abstract

Abstract Cognitive radio (CR) provides a theoretical foundation to achieve the cognitive function and collaborative function for the positioning nodes. Under this trend, the cognitive positioning system (CPS) has emerged. But the limitation of the traditional range accuracy adaptation criterion based on Cramér-Rao Lower Bound (CRLB) makes it very diffcult to put CPS into practices. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to further study the criterion in complex noise environment. Based on the time of arrival (TOA) location estimation algorithm, we analyze the performance of the range accuracy adaptation algorithm, which take the Ziv-Zakai lower bound information (ZZLB) as the CPS parameter optimization criterion. Simulation results show that the bound can provide more complete range accuracy adaptation information compared with CRLB. Furthermore, we can improve the positioning accuracy by means of enhancing the system signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), adjusting the system bandwidth and increasing the observation duration.

Abstract

The major problems in hysteresis-based DTC are high torque ripple and variable switching frequency. In order to minimize the torque ripple, high sampling time and fast digital realization should be applied. The high sampling and fast digital realization time can be achieved by utilizing high-speed processor where the operation of the discrete hysteresis regulator is becoming similar to the operation of analog-based comparator. This can be achieved by utilizing field programmable gate array (FPGA) which can perform a sampling at a very high speed, compared to the fact that developing an ASIC chip is expensive and laborious.
