PT Dua Kelinci is one of the largest food industries in Pati Regency one of whose products is egg peanut which needs huge electric and heat energy so that energy saving needs to be done. One of the efforts of energy saving is by conducting cogeneration (merging between electric and heat). This research started from a data collection, i.e. finding out the need of electricity and heat in the process of egg-peanut manufacture by a cogeneration technology at PT Dua Kelinci. The research method includes technical analysis and economic analysis. From the technical analysis, it is found that the electric energy saving by using cogeneration 103.680 kW and the heat energy saving is 4,075 TJ/year. From the economic analysis it is seen that before using cogeneration the cost that should be expended is USD 75.209,61 while after using cogeneration the cost is USD 60.6014,04 therefore from the economic aspect there is energy saving as much as USD 15.19,57/year.

In this paper, an energy-efficient transmission scheme for dynamic climatic conditions (ETDCC) has been proposed in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). This scheme is based on IEEE802.15.4 standard. In this method, open-loop and closed-loop feedback systems are used for snowfall variation. An open-loop system is utilized for snowfall-aware link quality compensation and estimation. However, closed-loop system aids to split the network into two logical regions, resulting the overhead of total control packets is minimized. According to link quality changes due to snowfall variation, the transmitting power is decided on the basis of current number of neighbor nodes and threshold power loss for each region. The simulated results depict that the proposed scheme with reduced control packets overhead adjusts transmitting power level (Plevel) to compensate link quality. This scheme based on threshold level is compared with the conventional approach that comprises the division of regions without threshold level.

Instant Messenger (IM) becomes one of the most popular applications in mobile technology and communication. A lot of users around the world installed it for daily activities. Current IM found security lacks both in authentication and encryption matters. Various IM growing today still not apply an efficient method in authentication and encryption process, conventional security methods and client-server architecture system have to risk too many users for attacking server such as compromising, cracking password or PINs by Unauthorized people. Common IM services lack native encryption to protect information being transmitted over the public network and still used high computation in the mobile environment, this problem needs efficient security methods. Then, in public IM also found various messages with fake users, it occurs because public IM carry out the separate system in authentication and encryption process, strong authentication need to solve this issue in messenger environment. The tremendous growth of mobile IM user needs efficient and secure communication way. This paper proposes a new efficient method for securing message both in encryption and authentication within the end-to-end model. In this research, security method proposes new algorithms based on Elliptic Curve (EC) works in Peer to Peer (P2P) architecture than a conventional client-server model. The result shows this method produces efficient time in authentication and encryption process while applying in a mobile environment. Besides, it is compatible with the mobile phone which has a limitation of computation capabilities and resources.

The aim of this research work is to estimate the amount of electricity produced to power up wearable devices using a piezoelectric actuator, as an alternative to external power supply. A prototype of the device has been designed to continuously rotate a piezoelectric actuator mounted on a cantilever beam. A MATLAB® simulation was done to predict the amount of power harvested from human kinetic energy. Further simulation was conducted using COMSOL Multiphysics® to model a cantilever beam with piezoelectric layer. With the base excitation and the presence of tip mass at the beam, the natural frequencies and mode shapes have been analyzed to improve the amount of energy harvested. In this work, it was estimated that a maximum amount of power that could be generated is 250 μW with up to 5.5V DC output. The outcome from this research works will aid in optimising the design of the energy harvester. This research work provides optimistic possibility in harvesting sufficient energy required for wearable devices.

This paper proposes the combined methods of Wavelet Transform (WT) and Euclidean Distance (ED) to estimate the expected value of the possibly feature vector of Indonesian syllables. This research aims to find the best properties in effectiveness and efficiency on performing feature extraction of each syllable sound to be applied in the speech recognition systems. This proposed approach which is the state-of-the-art of the previous study consist of three main phase. In the first phase, the speech signal is segmented and normalized. In the second phase, the signal is transformed into frequency domain by using the WT. In the third phase, to estimate the expected feature vector, the ED algorithm is used. Th e result shows the list of features of each syllables can be used for the next research, and some recommendations on the most effective and efficient WT to be used in performing syllable sound recognition.

This paper analyses the change of electric field in the proximity of 500 kV extra high voltage (EHV) transmission lines, in the presence of raindrops and dew. The computations were carried out using MatLab software by solving the electrostatic equations. The analysis depicts that the spatial distribution of the electric field strength varies with water drop content along the lateral distance along the transmission line. The peak electric field reduces with the water drop content, whereas the electric field remains the same at around 36 m from the transmission line. Then onwards the field strength increases with the water drop content. At long distances the field strength is not affected by the water drops. Such variation is highly important to analyse the adverse effects on the insulators used in HV applications. The results are of high significance to a country such as Indonesia where the precipitation levels are generally high in most parts of the country.

The secure communication through synchronization between two identic chaotic systems have recently gained a lot of interest. To implement a robust secure system based on synchronization, there is always a need to generate new discrete dynamical systems and investigate their performances in terms of amount of randomness they have and the ability to achieve synchronization smoothly. In this work, a new chaotic system, named Nahrain, is proposed and tested for the possible use in secure transmission via chaos synchronization as well as in cryptography applications. The performance of the proposed chaotic system is tested using 0-1 test, while NIST suite tests are used to check the randomness statistical properties. The nonlinear control laws are used to verify the synchronization of master-slave parts of the proposed system. The simulation results show that Nahrain system has chaotic behavior and synchronizable, while the equivalent binary sequence of the system has excellent randomness statistical properties. The numerical results obtained using MATLAB for 0-1 test was 0.9864, and for frequency test was 0.4202, while for frequency test within a block was 0.4311. As a result, the new proposed system can be used to develop efficient encryption and synchronization algorithms for multimedia secure transmission applications.

As commonly known that theload fluctuations that have been performed on an induction motor operated as an induction generator (IG) triggers unstable induced voltage and frequency. Asthe result, the load that receiving the power quality is not running properly and the efficiency is low. The problems that have beenmitigated in this research in such way is the stability of the voltage that generated by IG due to fluctuating loading, and the harmonics can be damped by single tuned due to the work of thyristors and non-linear loads. The used method is the Ziegler-Nichols method by measuring and testing the design of prototype to get the best performance in stabilizing the voltage by using thyristor control reactor (TCR). The results showed that the induced generator with single tuned filter and TCR to nonlinear load variation at 1618 RPM is maintained stably for the voltage and frequency. Although, 3rd order harmonics of voltage and current that has been tuned can be dampedby using THDI 8.36%. Furthermore, it can be said that the response that generated by voltage control system using proportionalintegral (PI) control in 1kW-4 poles three-phase IG with additional and reductionalload generated a stable response.

Training speech recognizer with under-resourced language data still proves difficult. Indonesian language is considered under-resourced because the lack of a standard speech corpus, text corpus, and dictionary. In this research, the efficacy of augmenting limited Indonesian speech training data with highly-resourced-language training data, such as English, to train Indonesian speech recognizer was analyzed. The training was performed in form of shared-hidden-layer deep-neural-network (SHL-DNN) training. An SHL-DNN has language-independent hidden layers and can be pre-trained and trained using multilingual training data without any difference with a monolingual deep neural network. The SHL-DNN using Indonesian and English speech training data proved effective for decreasing word error rate (WER) in decoding Indonesian dictated-speech by achieving 3.82% absolute decrease compared to a monolingual Indonesian hidden Markov model using Gaussian mixture model emission (GMM-HMM). The case was confirmed when the SHL-DNN was also employed to decode Indonesian spontaneous-speech by achieving 4.19% absolute WER decrease.
