Abstract

The increasingly inexpensive Internet has spurred the growth of online information system services in various companies. Almost all services are available in forms on web or mobile applications. For small companies, this particular system is more difficult to implement as it requires a substantial cost allocated for hosting, domain and server devices. The solution is to develop a framework for building information system services through Instant Messaging (IM) such as Telegram, Line or XMPP / Jabber using the Design Science Research Methodology. This proposed framework has the ability to transform the existing information system services into chat services with RBAC role, session, validation and natural interaction using Indonesian-language conversations. The framework that consists of Initiate layers, business process and communication, memory group and OLTP DBMS will produce low-cost solution for the development of integrated information systems service.

Abstract

Stability of a state linear system can be identified by controllability, observability, stabilizability, detectability, and transfer function. The approximate controllability and observability of non-autonomous Riesz-spectral systems have been established as well as non-autonomous Sturm-Liouville systems. As a continuation of the establishments, this paper concern on the analysis of the transfer function, stabilizability, and detectability of the non-autonomous Riesz-spectral systems. A strongly continuous quasi semigroup approach is implemented. The results show that the transfer function, stabilizability, and detectability can be established comprehensively in the non-autonomous Riesz-spectral systems. In particular, sufficient and necessary conditions for the stabilizability and detectability can be constructed. These results are parallel with infinite dimensional of autonomous systems.

Abstract

The emerge of the Internet of Things (IoT) data as a commodity to optimize public services such as Fishing Locator has made sensor-cloud an important object. When sensors that are members of multiple IoT gateways can inter-operate at the same time for more than one application, it will reduce cost to deploy IoT infrastructure. However, reliability has also developed as the most important aspect for real-time data collection that should be streamed constantly. Due to uncertainty factors sensors failure is potentially occurred, then an adaptive approach should be addressed into this as to guarantee the flow of streaming data. This paper proposed an adaptive sensor-cloud mechanism to manage the reliability by using a runtime model approach where a transition model and dynamic software product line engineering will take place to weaving the system. Our technique is comparable to other approaches and can be implemented in many types of Cloud-based services.

Abstract

The increasing demands on the usage of data centers especially in provisioning cloud applications (i.e. data-intensive applications) have drastically increased the energy consumption and becoming a critical issue. Failing to handle the increasing in energy consumption leads to the negative impact on the environment, and also negatively affecting the cloud providers’ profits due to increasing costs. Various surveys have been carried out to address and classify energy-aware approaches and solutions. As an active research area with increasing number of proposals, more surveys are needed to support researchers in the research area. Thus, in this paper, we intend to provide the current state of existing related surveys that serve as a guideline for the researchers as well as the potential reviewers to embark into a new concern and dimension to compliment existing related surveys. Our review highlights four main topics and concludes to some recommendations for the future survey.

Abstract

One of the important capabilities of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is aerial mapping. Aerial mapping is an image registration problem, i.e., the problem of transforming different sets of images into one coordinate system. In image registration, the quality of the output is strongly influenced by the quality of input (i.e., images captured by the UAV). Therefore, selecting the quality of input images becomes important and one of the challenging task in aerial mapping because the ground truth in the mapping process is not given before the UAV flies. Typically, UAV takes images in sequence irrespective of its flight orientation and roll angle. These may result in the acquisition of bad quality images, possibly compromising the quality of mapping results, and increasing the computational cost of a registration process. To address these issues, we need a recognition system that is able to recognize images that are not suitable for the registration process. In this paper, we define these unsuitable images as “inclined images,” i.e., images captured by UAV that are not perpendicular to the ground. Although we can calculate the inclination angle using a gyroscope attached to the UAV, our interest here is to recognize these inclined images without the use of additional sensors in order to mimic how humans perform this task visually. To realize that, we utilize a deep learning method with the combination of tree-based models to build an inclined image recognition system. We have validated the proposed system with the images captured by the UAV. We collected 192 images and labelled them with two different levels of classes (i.e., coarse- and fine-classification). We compared this with several models and the results showed that our proposed system yielded an improvement of accuracy rate up to 3%.

Abstract

Recently, continued use of information systems in general and particularly the context of internet banking has drawn increasing attention both in academic and trade literatures. However, different perspectives that determine the continued use of internet banking has been addressed. Given the long-term goal of any business entity is to increase its productivity, expand its customer base and maximize revenues, it is crucial for banks offering internet banking services to focus on encouraging their customers to continually use internet banking. While emerging attention had been given on the assessment of continued use of internet banking services from single view, little of attention were given from researchers to combine different views in a single comprehensive model. Yet, it is believe that combining different views would provide a better understanding to the issues surrounding the continued use. Drawing on the literature, this study developed a model to determine factors that influence the continued use of internet banking by combining factors from the socio-cognitive view and the relational view. Using a survey questionnaire, 450 questionnaires were distributed to users of internet banking in Libya. A number of interesting findings emerged, among others, is the lack of association between trust and perception to continue using the internet banking services in Libya.

Abstract

This paper presents a new technique to track the saliency position in a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) post a single phase open-circuit fault. The PMSM is driven by a fault-tolerant multi-level inverter that is utilized to implement a fault-tolerant control strategy to minimize system performance degradation post the fault. The fault-tolerant multi-level inverter is consisting of a number of insulated-gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs). The dynamic current reponses of the PMSM motor due to the switching actions of these IGBTs are used extract the saliency position. This process is not introducing any modification to the operation of the fault-tolerant multil-level inverter as it uses only the fundamental pulse width modulation (PWM) waveform. Moreover,it considers the modifications introduced to the PMSM motor and the multi-level inverter post the fault.Simulation results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed strategy of saliency tracking of a PMSM motor driven by a fault-tolerant four-leg multi-level inverter over a wide range of speeds in the case of a single-phase open circuit fault.

Abstract

Although the measurement of liquids temperature is commonly used by Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensor but its thermodynamic performance has interesting phenomena. This paper proposes the measurement and simulation of liquids temperature using FBG. Laser diode was launched into human blood, water, and vegetable oil, then transmitted power is measured by optical powermeter to determine its corresponding temperature. The results showed that the increasing temperature changes led to the widening of the wave shift. The largest change of wavelength is water temperature and the smallest One is vegetable oil temperature. Increase in liquid temperature causes the output power is greater. FBG simulation of sine and square function are also designed for temperature range of 30°C to 41°C with matrix transfer method based on coupled mode theory. Peak value of transmission spectrum of each function is shown by the change of temperature which indicates the sensor is sensitive to sine and square function variations. The peak at temperature of 30°C for each sine and square are -78.32 dB and -102.66 dB and increased to 41°C at 46.72 dB and -79.89 dB, respectively.

Abstract

Cellular CDMA systems are usually affected by interference experienced by users in adjacent cells that decrease the Quality of Services in wireless communication network. Hence, interference is the limiting factor of capacity in CDMA cellular and it is one of the problems fighting against the high efficiency of any mobile network. In this paper, a mathematical model to estimate the average number of users contributing in inter-cell interference at the busy hours of CDMA network is proposed. As the power exponent value has significant affect on interferer signal attenuation and hence other-cells interference, measurements were carried through a drive test to determine the received power level at various distance from CDMA base stations at Baghdad. The results obtained show that the power exponent was 2.71. This value was applied in dual-slop path loss model to determine the expected interference factor, and the number of users that can be hold at each cell. Simulations showed that users at a boundary cell generate more interference than those close to the base station. Furthermore, it was denoted that greater number of users caused to increase the interference factor, and greater power exponent value result in interference factor reduction.

Abstract

Solar panel is a solar energy converter to electrical energy. On solar tracker, there is a controller which sets the movement of solar panel such that it is perpendicular with solar rays. Previous research had designed Type 2 Fuzzy Sliding Mode Control (T2FSMC) controller to control the position of solar panel. However, there was trial and error process to determine gain scale factor so the development of optimization method is needed. This paper aims to modify gain scale factor using Firefly algorithm to increase performance of system. The simulation shows that T2FSMC Firefly has better performance than T2FSMC. T2FSMC Firefly shows the increase of performance on rise time, settling time, and integral time absolute error.
