Abstract

Indoor Positioning System (IPS) has an important role in the field of Internet of Thing. IPS works based on many existing radio frequency technologies. One of the most popular methods is WLAN Fingerprint because this technology has been installed widely inside buildings and it provides a high level of accuracy. The performance is affected by people who hold mobile devices (user) and also people around the users. This research aimed to minimize the computation time of kNN searching process. The results showed that when the value of k in kNN was greater, the computation time increased, especially when using Cityblock and Minkowski distance function. The smallest average computation time was 2.14 ms, when using Cityblock. Then the computational time for Euclidean and Chebychev were relatively stable, i.e. 2.2 ms and 2.23 ms, respectively.

Abstract

In current scenarios MANET mainly focus on low power battery operated devices. Moreover in a MANET transmission of large data consumes more energy that affects the performance of network, energy consumption, throughput, end to end delay, and packet overhead. The sum of these parameter metrics measure must be taken into account to increase the life-time and network energy efficiency. The main constraint in WSN is due to the restricted power in a node, which cannot be substituted. The node senses the data and it is moved towards the sink. This action of data movement needs to be efficient and the usage of battery in the sensor node requires to be efficiently employed to improve the network lifetime. The development of the energy efficient algorithms is of primary concern in the research arena of MANET. In any network, most of the routing protocols are focused directly to collect and bifurcate the large data for long distance communication. The prime goal of this research focused to identifies and survey more suitable routing protocol for MANET. That consumed less energy and increase life time of network. In this paper the author made on attempt on improved energy efficient LEACH protocol for MANET to reduce the energy dissipation that to life time of the network during the data transmission between source nodes and destination nodes.

Abstract

This work presents a 28 GHz Dual Element Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) Planar Inverted-F Antenna for millimeter wave 5G mobile terminal. The antenna design employs PIFA design concept as it is a common antenna type use for mobile phone as it provides wide bandwidth and good performance. The antenna design begins with a characterization of the single element PIFA design and then extended to Dual Element MIMO PIFA design. The single element PIFA design is enhanced to MIMO design by extending the ground plane and locate the second PIFA at the other end. Isolation between the antenna elements of the MIMO PIFA is analyzed by varying the gap distance between the antenna elements. The result for Envelope Correlation Coefficient, Diversity Gain and Multiplexing Efficiency is also presented. The simulation computed using Computer Simulation Technology (CST) Microwave Studio software.

Abstract

In this paper we derive the Multicarrier Equalization by Restoration of Redundancy (MERRY) algorithm: A blind, adaptive channel shortening algorithm for updating a Time-domain Equalizer (TEQ) in a system employing MultiCarrier Code Division Multiple Access (MC-CDMA) modulation. We show that the MERRY algorithm applied to the MC-CDMA system converges considerably more rapidly than in the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system [1]. Simulations results are provided to demonstrate the performance of the algorithm.

Abstract

This paper is concerned with the control problem for a class of nonlinear dynamical (hyperchaotic) systems based on linear feedback control strategies. Since the obtaining positive feedback coefficients are required for these strategies. From this point of view, the available ordinary/dislocated/enhancing and speed feedback control strategies can be classified into two main aspects: control the dynamical systems or can't be control although it own a positive feedback coefficients. So, we focused on these cases, and suggest a new method to recognize which system can be controller it or not. In this method, we divided the positive feedback coefficient which obtain from these strategies in to four categories according to possibility of suppression and show the reason for each case. Finally, numerical simulations are given to illustrate and verify the results.

Abstract

Conventional ternary content addressable memory (TCAM) provides access to stored data, which consists of '0', '1' and ‘don't care’, and outputs the matched address. Content lookup in TCAM can be done in a single cycle, which makes it very important in applications such as address lookup and deep-packet inspection. This paper proposes an improved TCAM architecture with fast update functionality. To support longest prefix matching (LPM), LPM logic are needed to the proposed TCAM. The latency of the proposed LPM logic is dependent on the number of matching addresses in address prefix comparison. In order to improve the throughput, parallel LPM logic is added to improve the throughput by 10× compared to the one without. Although with resource overhead, the cost of throughput per bit is less as compared to the one without parallel LPM logic.

Abstract

Underwater sensor network is an emerging technology due to its numerous applications in aqueous environments. However, limitations of these networks include limited bandwidth, high propagation delays and power constraints. Hence, new routing protocols must be designed specifically for USN. Opportunistic routing offers a promising method to overcome these limitations. The proposed protocol is a novel energy-efficient void avoidance opportunistic routing algorithm. The protocol deals with the issue of void holes during transmission while reducing energy consumption and keeping the packet delivery ratio at a satisfactory level. To evaluate the performance, two common metrics have been used for routing protocols in USNs; energy consumption and packet delivery ratio. Simulations were carried out in ns2 with Aqua-Sim. The performance of the proposed routing protocol is compared to VAPR. The performance evaluation of EEVA-OR indicate its benefit as compared to VAPR in terms of void detection, energy consumption and packet delivery ratio.

Abstract

This paper gives an extension of previous work on gradient optimal control of distributed parabolic systems to the case of distributed bilinear systems which are a type of nonlinear systems. We introduce the notion of flux optimal control of distributed bilinear systems. The idea is trying to achieve a neighborhood of the gradient state of the considered system by minimizing a nonlinear quadratic cost. Using optimization techniques, a method showing how to reach a desired flux at a final time, only on internal subregion of the system domain will be proposed. The proposed simulation illustrates the theoretical approach by commanding the heat bilinear equation flux to a desired profile.

Abstract

Energy harvesting relay network is considered as the promising solution for a wireless communication network in our time. In this research, we present and demonstrate the system performance of the energy harvesting based two-way full-duplex relaying network over Nakagami-m fading environment. Firstly, we propose the analytical expressions of the achievable throughput and outage probability of the proposed system. In the second step, the effect of various system parameters on the system performance is presented and investigated. In the final step, the analytical results are also demonstrated by Monte-Carlo simulation. The numerical results demonstrated and convinced the analytical and the simulation results are agreed with each other.
